As for her indirect attacks, welcome to office politics. You now need to shore up,your independent support by providing free help to third parties that deserve it, and keeping an eye on what she is saying so you can protect yourself. It can get exhausting. Welcome to the modern working world. Exactly, it can be exhausting. See, I focus on my job, not on playing social games. I won't treat people like crap, sure, but I won't go out of my way trying to become extra friendly with A, B or C in order…

We have no competence tests. We are small, such a thing is not even in the company culture. Maybe I can establish the possibility of reporting to the owners in the future in regards to this idiot's performance.

Not only will this help with what seems to be a mediocre culture, it'll give you standards that are methodical by which to call out or reward improvement. You're a boss now. Time to start acting as one! I'll start planning things more carefully in that regard. Honestly, we never had this problem because people here tend to know their place. Other women won't even dare crossing people out of spite, and other guys know their place when it comes to hierarchy and roles. What this woman is doing is n…

I see. This is not the U.S., so maybe things are a bit different here on that regard. At least, that's my theory based on how wary many of the users on TRP are in regards to false sex accusations. Needless to say, if I ever move to the states, I'll be extra careful in that regard.

It's been years, got a raise, a promotion, and I even got two stupid coworkers fired. One of them was all "from now on, I'll say everything that comes to my mind and go my own way, fuck the others". Brave guy, admirable. The way he tried to AMOG me inspired... courage. He never saw what was coming until it was too late. He stopped saying "hi" to me after they told him to hand in his resignation, poor bastard... So, yeah, I'm so about to lose my job dummy xD

My job isn't to help her overall, but I was tasked (as others) to bring her up to speed and support her when she first came in. Same deal we did with every other new recruit. She, of course, took that the wrong way and either thinks this is the way it'll always be or she naively thought she was being helped because "of her charms". Even though I cut her off, there are others who still refuse to call her out on this, and then act all depressed for no reason, you go figure... I already made my mov…

That's right dummy, ignore what others think or say about you until you are an outcast, no balance, no mercy, just push your own way no matter what... so dumb... And yes, I broke her privacy because I could, and I enjoyed it, and I pissed on her freedom of difamation. Oh, wait, is there a freedom to difamate others? No? Oh, you stupid idiot... go read about freedom of speech dummy...

Well, I don't think she'll even dare. We don't have HR, just theee owners in charge. And she already got out of her way to call one of them a misogynist woman-hater. She could try something, but rest assure guys like me and some women would testify against her if she dares file for sexual harrasment. None of us will let our own source of revenue go belly up in a sexual harrasment case because a whinny bitch doesn't know her place. Regarding being alone with her, that's not possible. We are a tea…

I'm not reading all that crap... it's not hard dummy, here: new girl, orders are to help, support and bring up to speed. That's it. That doesn't cover lack of effort, wasted time, reluctance to learn on her part and so on. Maybe I can make it even shorter: help the new coworker so that she can get up to speed. See? Not hard dummy...

Ok, I'll think about how to handle her. One thingh though: what bothered me so much about her was that she had decided I was the most knowledgeable/talented guy in there (rightly so...?) so I was the right person to "use" in order to get her own stuff done. Because failure for her wasn't an option as she was new with us, she needed someone to protect her, and she decided that someone was me. Here's the thing: she used everything in her power to get me to help (from flirting to extra cleavage to …

I got the promotion a couple of weeks back, and it'll take effect from next month. This shit went on for months.

She already has, in the past. She didn't exactly accused me, but she was posting chat messages of mine around telling others how awful and immature I was. Of course, she never told the others how she demanded I do her job, but hey, that's her... My bosses, however, know she's full of shit. In fact, they put me in charge of her work. However, they never called her out on her crap though, so I'll see how things go from next month on.

That's not my job. She made it about it because we are few guys and I'm the only one who says "no" to her. The other two guys, and the women, always try to make her happy. Bottom line: she's happy with them, unhappy with me, and unproductive all the time.
/r/askTRP14/08/17 05:10 PM

My job isn't to help her. She's reframing it that way because that's how she deals with people. She prefers to jump with a friend and and die with her than staying on the bridge alone and get hurt. I was just given a raise to take care of her work. My problem is: how do I deal with her now knowing that everytime she thinks I'm being an asshole she starts venting with my coworkers, even on my own team?

This is BS. I was told to help the new girl in the office, and I did. That doesn't mean she gets to invent shit afterwards. Go on, rebut that and tell me how I should have quitted instead. Sometimes it seems that people here are highschoolers who never worked in their life...

Keep on roasting that fag if he disrespects you. Ok, you convinced me :) What if, when I start roasting him, he starts saying, in general, that it's hard to work with me or that I'm a difficult employee, like he did in the past? How would you handle it then? I admit I backed down from roasting him a while ago for this exact reason, and it was hell for me from that point on...

Ever heard the expression "you need to get your hands dirty"? I mean, this is a street fight, ultimately. You get down to his level, you defeat him at his own game, and you raise above him. Actually the bullying behaviour does not sound remotely alpha, the need to insult and belittle others is a sign of insecurity and confidence problems. I totally agree, but in a small place with very few guys and tons of girls, someone acting like this, uncontested, goes from insecure to alpha. It's a relative…
/r/askTRP14/11/16 06:34 AM

It's exactly what you said. He is insecure, but nobody contrasts him so what would make him a beta is actually what makes him the alpha. For example, a year ago I was not in this position. I was more aggressive, more the "I don't take shit from this clown" kind of guy. And I was regarded as being equal to him, if not above. Then, a couple of things happened to him and he started acting out on his insecurities and jealousy and the first thing to do was to put me down. So, he started with the whol…

Its a battle of two betas. hahahahaha, that cracked me up ;) I understand that you were referring to the other person and not OP. And I stick to what I said. This other person is massively insecure, yet he appears more powerful than OP. Therefore girls take his side and not OP's. That doesn't make him an alpha. Yes, I totally agree with everything you said. I always thought he was jealous of me and insecure and that's why he acted like this. I also backed down when he escalated the "social attac…

Which is what I intend to do, thanks man! What happens if, when I do this, he starts ignoring me and telling everyone that I'm trouble and/or hard to work with? What would you do? This is what he did the last time I roasted him.
/r/askTRP14/11/16 06:21 AM

Depends. What exactly is he saying to you to provoke those responses? If its just random bullshitting that guys do, it sounds like you're taking it personal. We are randomly bullshitting about stuff. But he started framing me as an immature child that cannot be taken seriously from the start, so: we are talking about children, because one of my coworkers is pregnant, and I said "hey, jenny, you'd be lucky if the child grew up as cool as me!". No joke came from that, he was just quite. The other …

Sounds like he messes with you constantly and you just deal with it until he crosses a line, then you attack him personally. Because I have no problem taking jokes. He says something about me, and I laugh. Maybe I'm not in the mood to banter back, we are at work, I can't go around bantering all the time. Whenever I laugh at his jokes, he escalates and starts insulting... so, that's not ok. I'm not very tall, muscular but not very tall. So, he jokes about me being short. And I laugh, I myself jok…

Yeah, I thought of that too. It's not the first time I say something about they guy and some girls says "why are you attacking him?". And I think to myself "the asshat can pick on me all he wants and I can't do the same to him?". Let's say I keep going, picking on him for being a jerk, do you think they'll keep acting like this?

Bro ...these are all huge dick moves. Odds are this guy is just giving you shit, not trying to crawl under your skin. Yes, I agree. But when I mentioned his "mom" he was saying how my parents made every mistake in the book with me and that's why I came up the way I did... To which I replied "hahaha, mommy's boy doesn't have that problem, he's still being raised up at her home!". He wasn't laughing, he wasn't joking, he was talking seriously. He can't get himself to joke with me and treat me as a…

The feeling of having to reply when mocked or lose my stand ends up making me anxious when all I want is be laid back, if you know what I mean.

Hey man, thanks for your answer. Sounds like you don't really know what it is that rubs you the wrong way. Maybe try to figure that out and see where the feeling comes from. Is it jealousy? condescendence? I wasn't clear, my bad, I do know what bothers me in these cases. It's usually the condescending attitude of the other person, their tendency to classify others (like me) as A, B, C or whatever instead of doing their stuff without pissing on others. Or validation junkies that get high whenever…

And what if I actually don't like him (for other reasons)? Sometimes I see people who are clearly more sociable and likeable than I am and I have no problem with that. Sometimes though, the other guy just rubs me the wrong way, maybe he's too attention seeking, too loud, too dumb, if you know what I mean... but I still feel the same way

Yeah, this one. Always be confident. Unwavering confidence in the face of adverse odds or whatever sh* comes your way is going to make you extremely attractive. Keep pushing your limits, never back down, never be scared, always throw yourself out there.

I'm short and I lift, but not too much, just enough to feel good but I dont seem like a boxer, if you know what I mean. In my case, I'm smart and quick wit when I want to. I found the key is not to get intimidated by the lack of whichever characteristic you are missing. It's not about what you lack, it's about what you do with what you have. You'll always run into people stronger, smarter and prettier than you. It's how you use what you have or what you developed for yourslef that matters. Every…

My situation is similar except that he's the one who started lifting, wasnt too happy that things didnt change for him in spite of that and started acting like an amog jerk to me in front of everyone. And the funny thing is he doesnt get why people like me and see him as a weirdo unstabkr jackass
