Mine did this for the first 18 month or so then when her new relationship got boring she has decided to be super mom and she does everything she can to make me feel an look like an inept / absent / forgetful dad. She insisted on changing the kids doctors, counselors and even school districts so she could be "in charge" and often doesn't let me know about meetings. I keep reaching out to all involved to keep in the loop but she is relentless. It is infuriating. She is a terrible person.

Not officially, I didn't tell them but they are smart, it would be hard to miss. They were doing things with him less than a week after she left. Also she accused me of telling them once, not sure if it was because they knew or she was trying to get me to react.

Yeah, we do and it is very clear on days and times. I don't plan anything on her days but it is just becoming a regular thing for them to do things with mom on my days. And she even tends to say things that lead me to believe she is saying things to the kids about me. On Friday, my day after 2, the 12 year old was with her all day because she was getting her nails done and the had a graduation party that night for her new step sister. Mom text me at 130 to ask if " I wanted to spend any time wit…

This wasn't anything about friends, it is her mom planning special events on my days and picking them up without saying anything to me.

I'm sure I have plenty of documentation but I don't have money and I am really afraid it would backfire on me because the judge would think I am picking at little things. I also know she is really good at justifying bad behavior.

Yeah, we are having a good day. Had a good talk with the younger and let her know that I am not keeping her from things but that our time is important to me. She was cool about it and promised that she is looking forward to plans we have for the summer. It is so frustrating that her mom would put her in the position of having to choose when there really isn't a choice. Her mom has led her to believe that I can come pick them up like that, which I am sure that it wouldn't fly but I told her that …

Yeah, I am too easy to get along with sometimes, I always have felt bad for the girls because they didn't choose any of this so I have typically let them do what they want, but she is plans (and tells them about) things she is going to do when they are not there and they don't want to be left out. And yes mom is absolutely using them as a prop. She was like almost completely absent her first year out and I think she is trying to change that narrative. She is really a horrible person, I have no i…

I cooked, did all laundry, usually took care of the kids, did all the yard work, any repairs that needed anywhere. Cleaned off her car in the winter, fueled her car for her at least 75% of the time. Flowers and gifts for every occasion, she was literally the center of my world. Worked through multiple affairs, one while my mom was dying. In the end I was neglectful and inept. She literally didn't know how to cook, fortunately her affair partner/husband can't either.... any one of those things ac…

Lol, they really do have a play book. They both were serial cheaters, I imagine the trust level is extremely low. Thanks again for your support, has helped me get through the day so far!

It is a 12 year old car and it leaves drips, she asked me to look at it and it was hard to tell where it was coming from because there was alot of oil. I changed the oil and kind of chalked it up to it being a 12 year old car and I wanted to Guage how much it was losing now that it was full. She tried to tell me that I was supposed to put a new drain plug in when I changed it and that not doing so made it leak....

Thank you, I imagine the honeymoon period is over with her affair partner/ now husband and they both have to be realizing what terrible people they each are, just sucks that this is how she deals with it.... really appreciate the encouragement.

In my experience people who post how great their life is on social media are miserable and try to convince others they are not. Don't look at her posts, block her and look at it from the perspective that social media exists because people want to make others believe that they are the luck ones that life isn't beating them done. Forget her, don't let her have any more than she already has. In fact it is quite possible that those posts were meant for you to see.

Same here. She had to justify her terrible choices. I have to believe somehow people like this get what is coming to them eventually. You can't be proud of yourself for hurting someone you swore to protect and love till death no matter how hard you deflect.

Yeah I don't think the general public sees what has been done as abuse, but it absolutely is and I have learned what ptsd is through it. I am learning to trust people again, it is hard, especially at the level that her manipulation reached, but in the end I will be a better, stronger , healthier person for it. Sucks for the kids they live the nightmare everyday.

Yeah, I just came to the realization that she wasn't the person I knew, and she couldn't be trusted. I tried to look at our relationship as a business relationship. I made a promise I would never raise my voice, attack or let her get the best of me. It has been 3 years and I am proud to say that I have been successful in that. Although she occasionally twists my words and makes things up trying to convince herself that I was worthy of being cheated on.

It certainly made it easier when she finally found Mr. Perfect. There was alot of trauma from our time married that I am still digging through, but moving on was fast and easy, the challenge was more not hating her guts. I also have to see her often because of children.

Mine does that too with life 360. Really grinds my gears but there isn't much that can be done....

I agree, the issue is that she is very spiteful so I have to choose which hills to die on and assess the risk (which is what I am doing with this thread) She will retaliate in ways that I don't even see until it is too late and the kids will pay for it.

I did okay with these except kind of not introducing the kids..... my ex got wind I was dating and made up a story of my kids being really upset because it was someone they knew. So when I confronted it they learned who it was.... wish it would have worked differently but they are super happy with the relationship so I guess it will work out.

The funny thing is my ex cheated and left me for a man that doesn't do half of what I did. He does have more money so I suppose that was the attraction. My daughter was talking about mom mowing the other day, made me smile.

Maybe I am sick, but yes, I would love to find someone that could be loyal and love me as much as I love her. And be able to trust them to the point of doing it again. I have known many couples where it has happened so I really try to not be jaded. Probably a pipe dream, but I still have it! I will certainly be cautious and OP's take a look at her mother thing is soooooooo true.

I want so badly to disagree and say this was your isolated experience but now I am single, broke, only see my kids half the time which also are actively being weaponized, so I guess I have to shake my head in agreement at the moment. I like to hold out hope that there is a partner out there that doesn't fit your description.

Very similar to my story, sounds like I have been in it just a few more months. At a year and a half I am feeling much better about it and learning to enjoy being single. I have kids and I have heavily invested in them and work and forces myself to look for the positive. You will be okay, don't allow that piece of crap to take any more from you. Only do things that you won't regret later. It is unlikely you will be alone especially if you don't focus on that and lose yourself along the way. Be s…

I understand the feeling, I made a promise to myself and the beginning of this part of the journey that I would give 100% to my kids and prove to myself that I am capable of living a full life without someone else. And most of all minimize the opportunities for regret. I feel really good about how I've done. I have a fantastic relationship with my kids (100 times stronger than they do with mom not that I am comparing but it is obvious) I am feeling better about myself, in fact looking back over …

I'm with you. Struggling sometimes to see the good in humanity since so many are capable of shooting someone in thier own foxhole and blaming them for it but I have to believe not everyone is like that!

I think they do it because they know it will bother us. They go from being the person you trusted most in the word to a person that wants to see you fail. Try not to let it bother you, but when it does don't let her know it does. It is tempting to make a remark but it will only confirm that she is getting at you.

I have just always been able to use it as leverage when I want time other than the agreement. Also, it will always make me the bad guy to my kids until they understand and I just hate to be in that place. I have combated it by planning regular evens on days she is most likely to ask for them. Such as Sunday afternoons are our special meal day that they look forward to, I buy steaks when I can and their aunt that they love joins us. They look forward to that all week so it has almost completely s…

Sorry dude, it sucks. Happening to me too. My ex wife's boyfriend was her affair partner and they brought the kids into it within a week of her leaving and now a year later they bought a house together. It is rough but I have done everything I can to connect on an emotional level with my kids and I can tell you that our relationship is the rock in thier life and I can already see the fruits of it. Mom is chaos and wrapped up in a narcissistic douche bag while Dad genuinely cares and feeds in to …

Checking in from USA... of course! The mother of my kids started using this day 1. She even tried to use it to justify a family trip with her new boyfriend and my kids to Florida because she thought they would be safer there. (From a state with less than half the cases). She looks for opportunities to make difficult situations I face harder.

Not the same- not yet divorced but my wife moved out seven months ago and I don't plan to take it off until my divorce is final. She cheated and stopped wearing hers the minute she moved out. I feel like I am upholding my end of the deal.... maybe its dumb. I do look forward to taking it off soon!
