I just hit 50 this year also! Go hire a lawyer, that will stop her from taking anything else until after the divorce is finalized. The anxiety and depression are the worst, but you are not alone! Things will get better. Focus on the kids and yourself, take the time to heal. Find a therapist as well, mine helped me process everything. I went back to school and got my bachelors and masters degrees. It helped keep Me focused and out of a deep Depression. A lot of guys go to the gym also. This is a great group full Of resources and recommendations as well.

This is the standard MO for women in a divorce. My X had two placed on me. Both dropped by the judge. You can ask for them to be dropped with prejudice, which is apparently a much bigger deal if they try to ever file another one.

If roles were reversed you would be in jail for that behavior. Speak to jag or a lawyer and prepare to file a restraining order against her in order to protect your son. He is your child, fight for him. Do not let her play the victim card. As a divorced father I have full custody of both my kids. There is no reason you can not have custody of yours. She filed 2 restraining orders, both dropped by the judge. And kept putting everything off as she was able to stay in the house longer. Common tactic from what I have heard. It’s the women’s divorce playbook. In the end she got 65% of about everything and $3750 a month for 5 years. But I have full custody of both kids and she does not even try to have contact with them. And only 44 months to go. She was a SAHM for 17 years which did not help with the settlement.

Document everything! Every time she is abusive to you or anyone else. Document everything you can remember in as much detail as possible File a restraining order and ask for full custody of the kids. Get everything in order before you drop the hammer. And talk with your lawyer. Remember that the safety and wellness of your kids is the priority. Good luck

I will say. My x was a Stay at home mom, and it was better for me in the end to give up 45k a year for 5 years than to keep fighting over bs with the lawyers. She also got 65% of the 401K and house proceeds and took just about everything from the house. But in the end I was still able to buy a new house and I have full custody of both of my kids. All that really matters to me is my kids. And I can ensure they are being raised in a healthy and safe environment now.

My x gets 3750 a month in spousal support for 49 more months. I have full custody of both of our kids, 16. &18. She is paying me 900 in child support until my son graduates in a couple of months then 600 until My daughter graduates in 2 years.

It was not by my choice. I was basically forced into it by the x. She has alienated my daughter from me since the day she left. She did the same thing with my son but he saw through her BS and came to live with me of his choosing. I had to fight to be able to get my daughter to go through reunification therapy as part of the parenting plan. We finalized last week and have just begun the initial phases of reunification therapy. I won a motion to reconsider against a dvpo my x tried to stick me with. The commissioner granted it without reading all the paperwork, the x submitted 80 pages of rambling on a response to my response. The judge over ruled and sided with me. Said that the x was not as credible since she contradicted herself multiple times. So it is possible but a very long shot.

My X filed 2 against me. Rule number 1 is do not cross the restraining order. Get a lawyer, document everything. Get letters from friends and associates that reinforce your side. 2 get a lawyer immediately. 3 zero contact.

This is almost my story as well. My stbx filed two DV restraining orders against me. Just today the judge dropped them. It was a big relief. After 18 years together she has now completely alienated my daughter (15) from me. Tried the same with my son (17), but he lives with me now of his own choosing Listening to how she has twisted the past and other events to make me look like a monster. It’s been horrible. So I hear you brother just know that the truth will come out and you are not alone.
