5	Relocation w/Child After Divorce The real deal is what is in the decree about the child's living arrangements. You cannot legally restrict the ex-wife to move anywhere she wants but you can legally restrict the minor child to live in certain counties. Any change requires going to court to change the decree so if she moves the child's primary residence in violation of the decree that can potentially mean jailtime for her. What should I do to prepare? be prepared for a managing custody arrangement regardless of her living/work status, if you move out start making "good faith" child support payments immediately to show your interest in the children and make sure you know their routine and personal information (bday, SS#, teachers names,etc) ... oh ... and get a good lawyer sooner rather than later, pay them well and listen to their advice.
