I'm not saying that false claims never happen, I just don't think the numbers are as high as most people on this sub seem to think they are.

Suggesting Anne Hathaway should've worn panties is like saying someone should've worn a bullet proof vest to avoid dying when they got shot. Or that a man with long hair could have avoid an asshole pulling his hair by cutting his hair short. The second is a better example because some women are more comfortable not wearing panties, and some men are more comfortable having long hair. She should be able to not wear panties and not have to deal with asshole photographers.

Thats fair, I'm just saying it would not minimize the amount of rape it by much.

You and Sigil1. You quoted something he said about rape and then reformulated the advice into something not about rape, but about 'bad things' which implies that you believe it would still hold true when talking about rape.

The FBI has said that approximately 2% of reported rapes are false reports. Also, most rapes go unreported because the victim feels humiliated so why would a lot of people make false rape claims?

I don't think your reformulated advice will really help any women to avoid getting raped. Most women are raped by some one they know and are comfortable with not some creepy stranger who they could take note of and avoid.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
