If middle class is "rich" to you, you must have made some terrible, terrible choices in life.

Well, this is a starting salary. You think they just hand you the keys to a Porsche with your diploma? So, let's start with lower than the number you gave. Let's do 100K as a starting salary. Given a period of 15 years (because that's how long it's been since I graduated college) and an average yearly raise of only 3% (shitty economy) your combined income is almost 300K. Which makes you very nearly a 1%er in every state but CA, NY, and VA. And that's just for the average people. That's not rich,…

The average salary (taking into account all bachelor's degrees, and all raises incumbent in a career) is $55,500. Look, I can't wipe the asses of all the philosophy and women's studies majors out there. A useful degree was kind of a given there.

I'm lead to think you live a 1%er existence, not a mere white collar one. What's "mere" white collar? The threshold for 1% is only 500K in the most expensive state (NY). Frankly, two adults with college degrees and full time jobs make that pretty easily. We don't outsource everything, like I said we do our own yardwork. And I was wrong about "construction." Right when we first moved in, I built a retaining wall for strategic lawn mowing purposes. Took me three days. Which according to your Work …

Apparently the only thing you recognize as being "work" is dishes. In my earlier, more elaborate example, I said that both adults work outside the home and then divide up the household chores. So, assuming work outside the home can be said to be "equal" in terms of amount of hours spent, then we start our view of household work from an even playing field. From there, one spouse fulfills their previously-agreed-upon household obligations while the other spouse.... does not. So, it can be understo…

I would say in this instance, yes. I feel that humans, more often than not, would be particularly unhappy to be the only person working in a so-called partnership. Laziness is not quit so acceptable in Western culture as it's sometimes made out to be. Laziness at some else's expense is definitely less acceptable, I've found.

Are you attempting to say that your "negative feelings" are intrinsically linked with how many dishes are in the sink? Yes, unless there's a perfectly acceptable reason for the stack of dirty dishes (death in the family, extra hours at work, personal injury, etc). If my husband and I have come to a mutual agreement on who does what chores and I spend most of my precious little free time holding up my end of the bargain while he shirks his responsibilities, he's taken advantage of me, hasn't me? …

It was temporary and he could have easily worked around it. And it still doesn't explain why Buffy is a brainless cheerleader who gets punished every time she has sex and the only independant female on the show (Cordy) gets slut shamed every episode. Joss Whedon's feminism isn't feminism at all. It's just cheerleaders in skirts whining about boys who happen to throw a few punches once in a while.

typical woman under 30: I'm 37. And I think that according to our bootstrap historical Amercian values, it's sink or swim. It's funny how so many men will foam at the mouth over Affirmative Action for minorities but are now trying to suggest special treatment for boys in schools. that must be why most of the homeless minor are boys why most of the high school drop out are boy These are choices. Oh, the much touted "Educayshun is biased!" nonsense. Why? Because boys are expected to sit down and shut up? The public school system is no more biased against boys than, you know, jobs are. You're not allowed to jump around on your desk at work, either. If boys are so much smarter than girls, why does all this shit have to be pointed out to them? Girls figured it out. Sit down and shut up. They do it and they succeed. I think society is just fed up with coddling boys so much.

He wrote her off Buffy because he didn't like her that much and then on Angel she got pregnant without Joss' "permission" so he summarily kicked her off again and then afterwards never invited her to be in anything else. Ever notice how Joss Whedon has a very small group of actors that he likes to pull from because they're all such close and personal friends of his? Summer Glau is in Firefly and Dollhouse. I wonder what percentage of Terpers are also similarly obsessed with the evening news. "Hey, are we going to watch the game or not?" "Not now bro! Didn't you hear that?! Experts differ on when the earliest members of Generation Z were born, ranging from 1990 to 2001, though a majority opinion claims about 1996." - Google emphasis mine

The youngest Millennials are still living with their parents and have no desire to leave and establish independancy whereas Gen Z are preparing themselves to leave the nest early and permanently. I mean, you could, you know, spend some time getting to know a woman before you jump into bed with her. That's pretty unrealistic, though. Can I think of a legal way for you to both protect yourself and get all the strange you feel you're entitled to? No. I can't, sorry.

You're taking this way too personally. No one really cares about your SO. You're essentially saying: "You can't generalize that men have emotionless sex! Men do have emotional sex! Men can't have sex when they're mad, either! But, oh wait, they still can't relate to women who can't have emotionless sex, because reasons." You're contradicting yourself. Eh. They can blame helicopter parenting (which was primarily done by Boomers having kids late in life) for maybe the first couple of years of their (Millennials') adulthood. But look, once they get to 25, they really should have noticed that they weren't the fucking participation trophy, speshul snowflakes their parents told them they were. I mean at some point they have to grow up and start taking responsibility for being asshats.

I'm saying MY dude CAN empathize with women who don't want to have sex while angry. But OP can't. Acting as though generalizing is the equivalent of looking for a coelacanth is ridiculous. Statistically, I'm right. Speaking in absolutes would make a fool of me. Given enough time and exposure to different people, you can come up with a counter-example to everything under the sun. Marriages don't seem to be working out in the modern age. Yeah, but it's not marriage, it's the Millennials in general. Because Boomers are fine. Gen X is fine. It's Gen Y that can't handle marriage, or actual full time jobs, or higher education. It's part and parcel of the same problem. When shit gets real, they just bail. On everything and everyone. They have trouble forming lasting connections with people and it's starting to seriously affect them and their life choices.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/15 02:56 AM

Ah. But did they really "turn into assholes"? Or were they assholes all along? And wouldn't you say that marrying a non-asshole increases your chances of a happy marriage (to a person who doesn't turn into an asshole) than it does of, say, marrying an asshole hoping they will turn into a non-asshole? The only way to avoid getting burned is never getting married. Totally a valid lifestyle. But it's cynical to say that no one anywhere ever is happy being married.

So, you're saying, emotions totally enter into sexual situations for men. Oh. So then it should be totally easy for them to empathize with women who are pissed off at them and don't want to have sex with them because of it, amirite? So... wtf are they bitching about again?

It's not a real life example. Just a hypothetical. If my husband ever played video games instead of helping out, he wouldn't be my husband anymore. And he knows that, which is why he helps out. Picture a marriage in which both husband and wife work the same hours. What wife would tolerate doing more than half the housework, as well? Why? What would she get out of it? Sex is offered in exchange for tasks. If you're okay with her just laying there, not participating at all, sure. But if you want genuine participation, you're going to have to actually make some kind of effort. Women aren't going to just go all porn star on you to stroke your ego. Why would they? What's in it for them? You've already proven that you won't help out domestically. What exactly is it you're good for, because she can get sex from anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/15 02:23 AM

So quite literally do as I say if you want to have sex. ::cue eye roll:: More like, "I want to feel respected and not used by you" which is not unique to women, btw. But only men would say, "I want to do as little as possible in this relationship, but still get all the benefits (sex)."
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/15 02:16 AM

So you agreed to be in a dominate relationship but get upset with the man does not do enough around the house? I am not sure I follow this logic. In your example about the video game playing, I don't see him doing any taking advantage of personal issues He's not. He's just being a lazy asshole. In your situation, he's perfectly entitled to say, "You don't serve me enough and I want you to." If she's agreed to this dynamic, she'll probably agree with him and serve him. If, however, the dynamic changes to someone preying on people's insecurities to get what they want, that's no good. Preying on people's personal issues is never acceptable. …

they start taking each other for granted. Only if they are assholes. Don't be an asshole. Don't marry an asshole. Problem solved.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/15 12:24 AM

I don't have a problem with anyone's relationship dynamics as long as they are honest and not taking advantage of anyone's personal problems. For example, if your sandwich analogy included the guy saying, "And you don't get a sandwich because you're a fat bitch" (playing on her low self esteem issues so that she will be less likely to leave him), I have a problem with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/15 12:10 AM

Marriage isn't for everyone, I agree. My husband and I both prefer it, but I can see how some men would be terrified of not having the "I'm just going to stop calling you if you don't blow me" card to play at any given moment.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/15 12:06 AM

So its not manipulation because womens get aroused by this? If they get aroused by it, then do whatever works for the two of you. But for me, if I'm pissed at my husband, I can't get horny. I can't just block out my negative feelings, pretend they don't exist for an hour, and have sex. I literally just can't. And since he doesn't appreciate fucking a woman who's basically laying there like a corpse, we have to actually work out our problems before we can both have enjoyable sex. For me, it's not…

Ok i think you need some education on men. This was specifically in the context of a committed relationship in which you live together, which is not your situation at all. Whatever it is that you and all your SOs are fighting about, it's not about housework. I've been married for 15 years. My friends are all married. Sexual dynamics are a lot different when you're married.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/15 11:31 PM

If it's "not so much" then what's the goddamn problem? Because the minute she says, "I'm pissed at you, I don't want to fuck you" you'd be pissed off and then you wouldn't want to fuck her. Problem solved. No fucks given.

Men who do the "feminine" chores seem to have less sex though. Then you should probably never do chores and just accept that you're getting laid maybe a couple of times a month as opposed to never if you actually do chores? Choreplay seems to have been debunked. Maybe woman can fuck against their emotions? The question was asking about women who won't fuck against their emotions, though. Or at least, I was positing a reason why a woman would withhold. But I mean, if "choreplay" as you call it do…

Eh. Gray area. Here's the thing. A lot of women, myself included, can't really "get it up" when they're pissed off at their partner. Now men can fuck anything, anytime, anywhere. Their emotions never enter into it. Mad at someone? Fuck 'em. Happy with someone? Fuck 'em. Disappointed in someone? Fuck 'em. Do you really have to do the dishes to get laid? Sometimes. Sometimes. But there are some really nice girls out there who are perfectly aware that they are merely average and will treat men nicely because they know they don't really have a lot of other options. Possibly the key here is to date people based on something other than looks. /r/PurplePillDebate24/05/15 04:34 PM

Except women, women feel entitled to sit back and be given whatever they want. Why? Check the verbiage. "Feel" vs. "Is." No one is entitled, meaning you can't force someone into a relationship with you if they aren't interested. Some women feel entitled. That's fine. It's fine to feel anything. By the very behavior you're describing, they aren't forcing anyone to do anything. They aren't forcing anyone to approach them. Pass them up. Simple as that. Men can choose to pursue or not. Up to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/15 04:21 PM
4

Why is that acceptable? Because at the same time, no one is entitled to a relationship with anyone they want, simply because they want them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/15 04:04 PM
5

A reasonable man should be glad to do all of the work in a relationship and prove himself to a woman just sitting back and evaluating Yep. And as you said, there are just so many options out there for women that they can "Afford" to wait until someone who meets all their criteria shows up. Why settle?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/15 03:52 PM
4

The question is why is that acceptable to you Because it doesn't cause any reasonable person any quantifiable damage. It's no different than saying, "I only want blondes" or "I only want a Gemini."
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/15 03:34 PM
2

You can substitute "sex" for anything you like, sex just being the most common thing men want in a relationship. It doesn't really matter to me what you want. I'm just pointing out that whatever it is that you want, it appears to be in direct conflict with the desires of the women you're pursuing. Stop taking a fishing pole to the forest and bitching about never catching any fish.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/15 03:22 PM
5

Why do you think that's ok? Because that's what women want out of a relationship: To feel wanted and loved. There are men, like you, who only want sex out of a relationship. That's fine, nothing wrong with that. But you need to seek out women who also only want sex from a relationship. Stop pretending to be interested in women just so you can get laid and then be pissy about having to pretend. It's so much easier to just find a woman whose desires match up with yours.

I did. It's stupid. It starts off about rape culture, then devolves into "It's okay if Brad Pitt rapes you" and doesn't really address all the blogs run by feminists about the evil of male rape in prison. They do care about it. Just not in the sense to actually do anything about it. Then again, they don't really do anything for women, either, except retweet articles about scientist's shirts.

Double standards and hipocrisy exist anywhere humans exist. If you don't learn to accept that, you're in for a rough ride in life. And I didn't see any double standards or hipocrisy from that user anyway. Unless she specifically said elsewhere that aggression is morally wrong or something, then uses it anyway when confronted by an intimidating person. It just has me questioning everything, including my old and newer assumptions. Yeah, you should probably stop assuming that all people of any part…

She doesn't say why it's deeply ingrained. If she's been the victim of violence in the past, she's probably more prone to expect it and attempt to be the first one to pull the proverbial trigger now. If that's the case, it's hardly "animalistic". She wasn't born that way. Circumstances of her life have made her adapt to being that way. Since we don't know, we can't say whether it's nature or nurture, can we?

I only do "marriage," so it's one standard there. Meaning, if I ever found myself not married (divorce, widow) any relationship I might strike up after the fact would be with the end goal of Marriage in mind. My standards are solid and immutable. Say I had 10 things on my list, he'd have to meet all 10. I wouldn't continue with a relationship if he fell shy of any of them. I don't consider my standards "high" (as in unreachable for most people) but I do consider them inflexible.

I don't have any internalized misogyny. I think it's ridiculous to tell people, "If you don't agree with me, it's simply because you are hatefilled or stupid or both." No. I understand modern feminism. And I don't like it, just as I dislike any theory or philosophy that eschews both reality and personal responsibility.

You can torture a prisoner of war to get information without taking any pleasure from it, but it's torture and cruelty. Another thought - do men jealously guard their 'right' not to contribute domestically because they can't see that their wife is actually never not at work? Perhaps men come to assume that women are never really working, because they actually just never stop? Some do, possibly. There's probably another subset of men who recognize that housework and childcare is work, but they think that work outside the home is more difficult and therefore they (the men) deserve to check out when they get home wh…

What's the male alternative? I wouldn't say the male version is "helplessness" but that the counter example in males is the perceived "laziness" that caused the "nagging" in the first place. It depends on the definition of abuse. Mine's the usual defitinion: repeated cruelty. And the definition of cruelty also being the usual definition: pleasure at causing someone else pain or distress. She doesn't take pleasure in causing him distress. She's trying (or was) to get him to change his behavior (take more responsiblity). It turned out to be a crap tactic. He never actually changed his behavior; she just learned to do everything herself and stop complaining to him about it.

It could be an argument for hypergamy, but that's not really the argument I'm making. People want what they want, is what I'm saying. Husbands are just as likely to leave. If the wife gains weight and won't do anything about it, and he really feels a thin wife is important, he's going to leave for the babe who jogs by the house every morning in spanx. Men do it all the time. Women want what they want, too. You could chalk it up to hypergamy, but it's really not. Because it's the same prinicipal …

Really it depends on the religion. Hinduism, for example, as I understand it, is pretty laid back. There's not a lot of conflict going on there with respect to other religions. Insular religions can pose a problem, for example Evangelical Christianity and Judaism. Nothing is ever "always true". However, we now live in a society with alimony and child support and custody favoring mothers. What real incentive is there these days for a woman who is perpetually unhappy because she's always giving in to what her husband wants to actually stay married? 70% of divorces are initiated by women these days. SES isn’t the only factor, though. Studies show that in families with high SES but overtly hostile parenting styles or neglect, the introduction of the stress hormone cortisone often re-wires children’s brains in the same way that lower nutrition, marginal health care, and low social interaction does in lower SES children. Terpers are incapable of love in any sense that society understands love. They cherish their possessions, but only if they are the only ones who've ever owned them. The thought of another man taking something they own enrages them. Given how easily a Terper can drop a woman, even the mother of his children, when she stops holding his interest, no one could say that they "love" anyone. Women mean nothing to Terpers, except as a means to compare themselves to other men. They do it with cars, how m…

An increase in MGTOW will cause an increase in WGTOW. We don't need to speculate on that. We can see it in action in Japan. Not exactly a 1:1 comparison, though. Japanese men are shunning careerism because there is less job security in Japan these days. They can work a grueling Japanese work schedule for years only to discover themselves laid off without warning. In response to this, they've stopped pursuing degrees or high-paying jobs as they once did. Women in Japan continued to pursue careers…

If I’m being honest, it all feels so much like a mix between porn-fuelled projection and some sort of revenge fantasy where bitter ‘nice guys’ are projecting all sorts of awful behaviors on the women who rejected them. As if they have a need to imagine scenarios where all those women who brushed them aside get ‘punished’ for it in the long run and by debasing themselves regularly with guys who pump & dump them. This is the entire essence of TRP. When you read their forums, it's nearly comical. T…

I am a bit skeptical of you being deeply aware of your friends' private sexual proclivities, Well, I was talking about them not being silly/jerky/flirty, but as a collective: one couple has mostly traditional missionary sex but she's not averse to giving him road head when they take their yearly vacations. She's not into anal, though. The second couple is heavily into D/s. He refers to her as "pet" when they're alone. They're into poly and swinging. The third couple is as close to "average" as a…

When I see a case of "Dread Game doesn't work!", my first inclination isn't to say, "Oh, well, I guess Dread Game is a bad idea." The biggest problem with Dread Game is that it might fail for an entirely different reason than the one you thought it did. In the 10-24 age range, the rate for men has gone down while the rate for women has gone up. It seems the method has changed over the years for women. Divorce is scary, especially when it means that the quality of life would probably take a substantial hit. This is absolutely true. Monogamy is not an agreement to remain celibate, though. I don't know how old your kids are, but if they are relatively old, you might stick it out so that you can still see them every day. Once they graduate, just leave. All I can tell you is that making demands and refusing to compromise doesn't work in very many situations, whether it's marriage or even in the workplace. Most likely what will happen is, they will divorce. Or she will give in and perform duty-sex for a while until the resentment she has about him not caring about her builds up to a point where she leaves anyway. Probably the single biggest factor is upbringing. A person's attitudes toward sex probaly ultimately dictate what they are willing to do in the bedroom. Also worth noting: One of my closest friends thinks sex always has to be romantic and sensual. If her husband ever tried anything like that with her, she'd freak out and probably stage an intervention for him because she'd consider him some kind of deviant or sex addict. She calls that type of sex "porn sex." Now, she's ultra religious and believes wives are supposed to be submissive to their husbands. so if more fathers were present in their kids lives, the male abuse rate would probably be higher I would imagine so, for the simple fact that if the father didn't want to be there in the first place, creating a situation where he has to be isn't doing anyone any favors. Especially not the kids. Not gonna say AWALT but I think people need to give some serious thought to having kids rather than just popping them out regardless of the consequences. "I had a kid. In 2012, more than four-fifths (82.2%) of perpetrators were between the ages of 18 and 44 years while two-fifths (39.6%%) of perpetrators were in the 25-34 age group. Also anecdotal, but I do. I suppose it might even be biological, perpetuation of the species and all that. Given that there is always some chance that a woman could die during pregnancy/childbirth, it makes sense that the biological drive would be to protect the kids you already have, rather than the mate who might give you more. Edit: Though there are women who don't have well-developed connections with their children and therefore occasionally choose a man over them. Even in situations where t…

No, no one would want to be raped in real life. The mere psychological trauma of "Is he going to kill me? Am I going to get AIDS? What if I get pregnant?" would be staggering. But there degrees to which women would voluntarily give up control. Think of it in terms of a yellow light, red light safeword scenario. In a yellow/red scenario, the sub can say yellow and in most agreements, it's up to the Dom to decide whether or not the issue warrants stopping play. Saying yellow is not a guarantee tha…

That said, we've been married for almost 16 years, been doing BDSM for 17. I've never done this with a stranger. I doubt I would. Mostly it was just desensitization that led us to this point. Not all people play this way. I don't and I feel it does me and others like me a disservice to claim that this is the only way people act out rape fantasies. It's more common, but it's not the only way to play.

That's a word for it. I can also say that I've noticed over time that the rape play itself has taken on several different "themes" or connotations, that basically support my theory that the act of rape itself can be very different across all people and situations. edit: not act, the motivation can be different

What is a non-con rape relationship ? lol, in a word: Complex. But I can best describe it as: In rape play, it's common to have a safeword that isn't "No." So that you can keep screaming "No!" and your partner can ignore it, simulating actual rape. Instead, your safeword is, "Banana!" (or whatever) if you really intended for the scene to stop. We are not in a Master/slave relationship, but I've given up my safeword anyway, which means for all practical purposes I have no way to stop a scene whil…

Because they haven't read it or seen the movie (I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've read the novels). They also think BDSM = rape play. Which is an unfair characterization, imo, even though I'm in a non-con rape relationship myself. It's not fair to paint everyone with the same brush. It's also bullshit to talk about books you haven't read.

It's not rape at all. They have a long negotiation scene where he gives her a checklist of things she will and won't do. She completely dictates all of their activities through the whole series. It's dangerous and incorrect to assume that all people of a specific gender possess the natural urge to do anything. Do all women have the natural urge to be mothers? No. Do all people have the natural urge to be heterosexual? Nope. Men are more inclined to rape than women, but across the male gender as a whole, it's got to be a sliding scale. Some men are more inclined to rape than other men. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that an excess of testosterone increases the urge to rape. So any men w…

Here we see the trend of 18-29 year olds losing interest in marriage overall. It's not just men, it's all young people. The unemployment rate for men is a side consequence of feminism btw. Women got what they wished for... and then some. Feminism is the cause of men not completing college anymore?. College is voluntary and men are choosing not to finish. That's probably a bigger cause for unemployment.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/15 12:53 AM
1

But they pin that hope to a man with a good job, and there are fewer of them since unemployment skyrocketed. So, that statistic is relatively meaningless since they can't find a man with a job anyway. Statistics are telling us the marriage rate has gone down because women are choosing not to marry unemployed losers, not because men just suddenly decided not to get married in the first place.

Women don't need men as much these days, especially since the wage gap isn't real. A few vocal women write salon articles about being alone at 30, but honestly I just don't see large groups of women lamenting the fact that they make the same (or more) money than men these days.

I read a manifesto about a Feminist Utopia once. The author claimed that in her version of a feminist utopia, women would live collectively, thus sharing the burden of childrearing while gaining support for their careers, etc. She went on to say that since women's sexuality is often more fluid than men's, many women would just naturally transition into lesbianism. So your position is: Every man who answered, "Yes, I would hold a woman down" was only thinking about it in terms of pre-negotiated rough sex? Your position is that not a single one of them was thinking, "If I want it and she was making it out with five minutes before hand, it's okay to force her if she says she doesn't want sex"?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/15 12:36 PM

You should definitely negotiate that kind of thing ahead of time. Statistically speaking, if you continue to hold women down without some kind of tacit agreement that this okay for both of you, you're going to wind up in jail at some point.

I'm on the fence about prostitution. I don't object morally, but it still wouldn't be legal to have sex with an underage girl and therefore it wouldn't really impact sex trafficking, which has a significant number of underage girls. Since the point of underage girls is usually that they're underage, legaling prostitution won't end it. It might reduce trafficking, but I don't think tens of thousands of women would suddenly start turning tricks just because it was legal. There can't be that many w…

Rape is almost always about power & not sex. Not as much as you'd think. There are plenty of men who have convinced themselves that if she could just see how great they are together, she'd love him. Also, it doesn't explain the Rhode Island Accidental Prostitution Whoopsy™. R.I. unintentionally legalized prostitution in 2003 an then recriminalized it in 2009. After prostitution was legalized, the sex market increased in size and rape (overall, across the entire state) declined by 31%. When prost…

It's not "Give No Fucks" that makes him a dick. Fleming admits he wrote him as a flawed, unlikable character. He's homophobic, hyperviolent, jingoistic, and not even particularly smart or self-aware. I don't tend to get along with feminists, generally speaking. But I will say they have a few points. It doesn't mean that there are in fact only two sets, just that RPers and 31% of the study particpants believe that as well. Credible? Eh. You mean he spins plates? Not to get too technical on you, but I don't think James Bond spins plates. He's more "love 'em and leave 'em," hence I said 'serial' womanizer. Spinning plates, as I understand it, is a scenario in which you have multiple women you keep going back to. Once the Big Adventure™ is over, their relationship is over. I'm not not interested in being in a relationship, I'm married. One doesn't preclude the other. how else can i serve you before you'll touch my penis again? You can treat her like a human being. Ask her about her day, care about her life. It's not about attraction. It rarely ever is. You don't negotiate anything. You acknowledge and accept that fact that men can have sex without emotional attachment easier than women. So when a woman is upset or depressed in a committed relationship, she doesn't want to have sex anymore... because she's upset and depressed. The lack of emotional connection with her partner is the reason she doesn't want to have sex. Men have an easier time with separating their feelings from their desire to have …

Yes and no. In the beginning, up until the turn of the last century, marriages were mostly transactional. When the middle class expanded and more people could live comfortably on less money, marriage evolved into mostly "Love Matches" which is (with a few exceptions) the standard that we use today in the US. A marriage based on "love" (or what is perceived to be love) that moves to a Transactional status doesn't usually last. Because one, or both, spouses decide that they don't want to be in a l…

To compensate for this, she fucks him more often now (which happens a lot with cheaters). He could absolutely be convinced that the "No Fucks Given" approach worked, but it really didn't. I wo…

Impossible to give a good answer without knowing them at all. You said he doesn't play sports. He might find it difficult to really fit in. It's possible he's using his role as Alcohol Provider as a way to gain entry into the group, a group where he doesn't really belong but wants to. He may resent the ease with which Gale could gain entry: drop a few pounds and put on a bikini. There are a lot of dynamics going on here. You said it was Shauna's idea for Gale to go with Jamie. If Gale said no, s…

I'm not sure "desirability" is the real factor, though. A female 8 can get sex more often than a male 8 (assuming hetero sex) because men, in general, are more comfortable with casual sex than women are. A lesbian 8 will probably experience more difficulty than a hetero female 8 in racking up partner numbers for the same reason. Desirability isn't the key factor. It's the fact that women are less open to sex without intimacy. edit: word choice

What does women being more desirable than mean actually mean? A woman can get more sex than a man who is her equal can?

Not terribly weird. Even in close friendships, it can be uncomfortable to say, "Xenakis_Muse, I'm chubby and not as well-liked as I wish I was." That's an awkward conversation. Just because she wasn't having it with you, probably not especially with you since you're male, doesn't mean she was thinking about it. How long was Gale chubby? Because I guarantee you how long she was chubby was precisely equal to the length of time Gale was thinking, "I wonder what life would be like if I wasn't chubby…

People on the lower end of the social spectrum often have fantasies about moving up. See the countless teen movies dedicated to this sort of thing. Gale made the dream a reality, for a short time, at least. The thing is, Gale didn't really "change in a week" as you put it. Your perception of it was that it was a week, but for her it was longer. All those months at the gym, she had a goal in mind. She was changing internally, she just didn't tell you about it. Only time will tell if it's permanen…

That's not a great equivalent, though. Leaving aside for a moment that you have incel and voluntary celibacy mixed up, a lot of this depends on the person doing the sacrificing. Look up Hephzibah Anderson, she's pretty damn attractive. When you look at her, you can see how she might actually be sacrificing something (the opportunity to sleep with men). Let's say an overweight, relatively unintelligent woman wrote that book. No one would buy it. Her sacrifice is fake. If a man wrote the same book…

Good question. I have no idea what motivates people to scratch and claw and rage to maintain relationships that just are inherently awful, though I suspect that each person's individual motivation differs from the next person. "I'll never meet anyone else, so this one has to work," or "I've put in so much time into this relationship, so it has to work" or "I can't walk away, what will my friends and family think? This has to work" or "I really, really love this person despite all this bullshit, …

I have to agree with this, unfortunately. It's not "fair" but it is reality. The subset of men who are incel is negligible. Couple that with the fact that they obviously don't have enough "capital" in other areas to make up for it, for example, I don't care how ugly you are, if you have enough money, women (and men) will fall all over themselves to have sex with you. Incel men and women are so low on the socio-economic totem pole that it really doesn't matter how upset they are at the reality of…

You're going to have a hard time doing that when a large part of the consequences for having a high number (especially for women) are social. "You did this with one of your exes, why not with me?" I don't think it's unreasonableto want to know, but realize that it is, at its core, a values issue and very few people have had much success in getting someone to change their core values. If a prospective partner thinks it's unreasonable to want to know their number, then I would guess that no amount of badgering, whining, asking, browbeating is going to get an answer. And even if it does, their value didn't change. They still didn't want you to know. Most likely, there will be other things th…

I don't think you have a very realistic idea of the 50s. Premarital sex was rare back then. I don't think requiring young people to get married in order to have sex really made anything "easier," especially since divorce was so frowned upon in those days. You'd honestly give up your current sexual freedom for the "Ease" of having to marry some girl you barely know and having to stay married to her for the rest of your life?

Technically I'm saying we don't have enough info to know why, exactly, women want to get married but aren't. I'm just throwing out possible reasons and that seems like a plausible one, if we accept that women want to marry up. If that's not true, then it would seem that women want to get married just not right now. To be fair, there are probably a multitude of women that fit both these categories, since not all women are exactly the same.

Men's rates have fallen off considerably in the last 20 years. That coupled with unemployment appears to have taken a large portion of the previously eligible male marriage pool out of the running. I don't care about feminism one way or the other.

Also, looking into this idea they have that women marry up and men marry down, let's assume that's true. So, now you have 60% of colleges filled with women and a rising unemployment rate for men 25-34. If women marry up, who are they going to marry? Because men can't seem to go college and hold down a job at the rate they used to these days. Women may well want to marry, but maybe they can't find stable men.

You seem to be lumping sex and all possible sex acts and all possible partners into one big stew and labelling it "LUST" and insisting that it must all focus on you. Human sexuality doesn't tend to work that way. Have you ever had two BJs by two different women? Was one better than the other? What importance are we placing on the word "successful"? As we all know, the average age for marriage is going up. We also know the younger you are when you marry, the more likely you are to get a divorce. So all this is really saying is that more women now want a "successful" marriage (as opposed to a crap one that ends in divorce). That's her husband's failing then, isn't it? Seems a little shady to me to try and find a girl with a low partner count just because you might not be as good a lover as someone else she's been with. Well, that's a can of worms, isn't it? Makes it seem like the RedPill has less to do with women and relationships and more to do with how men see themselves stacking up to other men, they're just using women for the criteria.

How is it statistically significant for women except in terms of the man she's married to now may not be better at X than one of her previous lovers or her husband is irritated at her number and constantly complains about it? I don't disagree that they've put themselves in a bit of a sticky wicket.
