And men settle when the only other option is to be an incel. But few women require marriage before having sex. An incel might reluctantly date and have sex with a woman that he considers below him, but there wouldn't be any real need for him to actually marry.

cus its such a small issue But it's the very thing that we're arguing about! We are, right now, at 47% of the female workforce working. That is the current situation. So right now, it absolutely matters whether we (as a society) focus on now getting equal opportunity or equal outcome. Because they will produce different effects. are being discussed in social science I have no idea what you're talking about. When did you ever mention social science? earlier you try to spin me into absolute equali…
/r/MensRights07/05/19 06:09 AM
1

Right, so you agree that equality of outcome can be a sign of equality of opportunity in a certain context. In the case of it being close to 0% or 100%, sure. However we fundamentally disagree on how much equality there is today. You seem to think we are closer to it than myself. I probably do, but that's irrelevant. The question is whether you can use equality of opportunity as the indicator today. Sure why not, it's a minor difference so I don't care much, but it can't hurt. Of course it can h…
/r/MensRights07/05/19 05:44 AM
2

Yes. But I don't agree that getting closer to 50% today is a sign that we are getting closer to equality of opportunity. Do you think going from 47% to 50% is a sign that we are getting closer to equality of opportunity? Or do you think, in your own words, that we are now at the stage of looking at the distribution?
/r/MensRights07/05/19 03:34 AM
2

Okay, and in the real world?
/r/MensRights07/05/19 03:19 AM
2

but it's certainly closer than if it was just 10%. But is it certainly closer than if it was 47% (The current value - women are 47% of the US workforce)? Even in your example if only 10% of women are working It's 47% in the US. Getting them into the workforce is the first step, then look at job distribution. Well, given that 47% of the workforce is women and this is predicted to become 51%, don't you think we're now at the stage of looking at job distribution?
/r/MensRights07/05/19 03:09 AM
2

When we see a shift in a trend where women for example start becoming more active in the workforce etc., then we are moving closer to equality of outcome (this is not an opinion this is just true). No, and it's easily disproved, because it depends on how that is distributed. Right now 85% of primary school teachers are women. If that increased to 90%, it would mean more women being active in the workforce, while moving away from equality of outcome. Looking at the outcome of groups of people is …
/r/MensRights07/05/19 02:10 AM
3

The trouble is, is that you have a contradictory position. You keep arguing for getting "closer to 50%" while at the same time you keep trying to say that you're not arguing for 50% of anything. This is mathematically illogical. 50% is the closest that you can get to 50%. If you argue for getting closer to 50%, then that is the same as arguing for getting to 50%. You're fighting against math here. Say that we currently have 40% female firefighters. If true "equal opportunity" would result in 30%…
/r/MensRights07/05/19 01:44 AM
2

In this situation getting closer from 0% to 50% obviously means that women are being more allowed to make the choice and pursue the career of a firefighter. Going to 100% women also obviously means that women are being more allowed to make the choice and pursue the career of a firefighter. But I hope you agree that this wouldn't indicate that there's no discrimination? For equality, you need to look at both men and women. If discrimination is still one of the factor (biological can be another fa…
/r/MensRights07/05/19 01:12 AM
2

Yes it would This is why I say that you contradict yourself. Do you know that being a firefighter requires a high degree of physical strength? Something that men are more likely to have than women? Do you agree that more men than women would qualify to be a firefighter?
/r/MensRights07/05/19 12:39 AM
2

So getting closer to, say, 50% female Firefighters would be a sign of more equal opportunity, right?
/r/MensRights07/05/19 12:24 AM
2

The trouble is that you contradict yourself. You also just said: And as we get closer to equality of outcome I see this as a sign that we have more equality of opportunity. So getting closer to, say, 50% female Firefighters would be a sign of more equal opportunity, right?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 11:32 PM
2

And as we get closer to equality of outcome I see this as a sign that we have more equality of opportunity. So, in the example of the job that requires a high degree of strength, you'd only consider that there is "equal opportunity" if it hires 50% women? You don't think it's possible that giving everyone an equal opportunity might not result in an equality of outcome?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 11:17 PM
3

I would like to see that reduced to as little as possible So you want to try to give everyone equal opportunity, right? If someone wants to do something, give them the opportunity to do it, and don't hold them back because of their gender, race, etc? I don't want absolute equality of outcome So, you want equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 10:57 PM
2

Okay great. Now, for this strength based job, can you have equal opportunity and equal outcome at the same time? If not, which one would you prefer?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 09:51 PM
2

I agree. Hence my follow-up question to them of whether they believe that men are stronger than women, and what would happen for a job that requires a high strength. (A question they haven't answered)
/r/MensRights06/05/19 09:48 AM
6

Do you think that men are, on average, stronger? If you hired for a job that required a high strength, would you expect an equal number of men and women to be qualified for it?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 07:53 AM
7

You can be in favor of equal opportunity AND equal outcome (in theory) at the same time No - that's not logically possible. If the two conflicted, would you prefer to give people equal opportunity at the cost of potentially different outcomes, or would you prefer to give people equal outcomes, at the cost of potentially different opportunities?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 03:49 AM
9

What an amazing argument.
/r/MensRights06/05/19 03:23 AM
13

But no, I'm not against equal opportunity So, you do actually agree with "equal opportunity, not equal outcome" but you believe that everyone else who says it doesn't understand it (for some unstated reason) and must therefore be a trump supporter?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 03:12 AM
21

Well all Trump supporters also breathe air. That's kinda meaningless unless you also state that non-Trump supporters are against equal opportunity. Are you against equal opportunity?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 03:01 AM
11

So you'd try to force women to work more hours even if they don't want to? What if they would prefer to spend more time with their kids, and have a better work/life balance?
/r/MensRights06/05/19 03:00 AM
21

Well you reacted with apparent disgust at someone saying that, so what are you saying?

/r/MensRights06/05/19 02:49 AM
9

He's right: https://www.forbes.com/sites/karinagness/2016/06/30/new-report-men-work-longer-hours-than-women/#2b4b3c2218b4 among full-time employees, men worked 8.2 hours compared to women working 7.8 hours.
/r/MensRights06/05/19 02:49 AM

Not wanting a career and wanting kids are immediate deal-breakers for me. Vice versa for me. I don't want to have my kids growing up being looked after by strangers. I want a stay-at-home wife.

/r/MensRights08/04/19 05:18 AM

What I find crazy is that the harder the man works, the greater he gets punished. Even aside from the financial aspect. Take a father who works hard to pay for his wife and kids. If they divorce, the fact that the father was working is counted against him when it comes to the kids, meaning that he is less likely to get the kids, because the mother is seen as the primary carer.

What would you define as toxic femininity? Any elements of femininity that have negative or destructive effects on women. You could argue that toxic femininity is what model magazines express they have to be Which they usually manage to blame men for. How often do feminists blame toxic femininity for that? edit: according to this, toxic masculinity was first addressed by men I don't at all deny that there are men who attack other men. /r/niceguys is full of self-hating feminist men.

Last time I see stated, their evidence was feminists blaming male problems in "the patriarchy" and "toxic masculinity". It seems that the only time feminist organizations mention male problems is when they can find a way to blame men for it.

It could 0% of white mothers are single mothers and 1% of black mothers are single …

Mainstream academic feminism supports jailing men who are innocent of the crimes with which they are charged? Can you demonstrate this? He didn't say that.
