I say get together, or if I know I like the girl already, I'll say I want to take her out.

"Oh perfect timing, I'm going to grab drinks while you do that. See you in a bit."

I would recommend house parties. You generally know the people there better, and can rely a bit more on the solid rapport it appears you have with your friends a lot more than the colder approaches you might have to do out at bars/clubs

I (24M) made the same painful mistake a few times, and it was something as harmless as holding hands. I would be out with a girl, and whether it was coffee, a movie, or walking around, and rather than just kissing her, would hold hands with her. Whether it was for escalating, gauging the situation, or attempting to show I wasn't like the run of the mill guy, I would make this move. After seeing it fail for me time and again, I realized the error of my ways, and have graduated to simply kissing a…

I would take her mini golfing, bowling, to play pool, etc. something where you both have an activity to distract you from the awkwardness of the situation, but where you can still have fun and get to know each other more. A little social lubricant (alcohol) never hurt a first date either. Good luck

Deflect the question by answering jokingly. "I generally go for girls that have no class, so you already dont fit the bill", "Sometimes when we make eye contact i accidentally smile... if you could cut that out, I could see this going a lot better" etc etc

In my experience, I like to ask out girls who i either already know/have mutual friends with, or have texted with at least. This i feel like mitigates most risk a girl would feel. I have never picked up any weird vibes taking a new date hiking.

I love taking girls on a hike. It gets us outside, being active, and it almost guarantees future dates when you say "oh wow, this view is gorgeous, it reminds me almost of x, have you been there? No? We should go!"

Go on a run. Do body-weight work outs. You will release positive endorphins, and feel better about yourself. Continue this until you are noticing visible improvements, and voila, you have a hobby, are no longer weak, and hopefully have improved your attitude through hard work.

Me too! Hence it taking me months to purge it haha. I'll definitely throw in a FR after they finish up next week! FYI my end game is to find a girlfriend, so "success" might look different than what we are used to. Thanks!

"Can i take you out for drinks/coffee?" is the line I usually. Yes, girls will still complain about how they have never been on a "real date" but we all know that's not true haha

Wow man, sorry to hear your story. It's actually creepy how closely our stories line up, from first serious gf to breaking up in Oct13 and moving on in Jan14. My advice as someone who was also just crushed would be to avoid her at all costs. In the same way its rational to send her a card or say "hi" to be nice and show her you can be civil, put in the same amount of effort to avoid her. Take the long way home. Delete her friends/family from FB. and Never Talk to Her. Hobbies definitely help, I …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
