I don’t care if the people of TRP think my post is idiotic. I’m asking for help. It’s relevant to my problem to tell you that despite the reputation I do well academically and have a prestigious job. Can you not see why it’s relevant to include that?

Ordinarily I’d hear her say “text me more, show emotion” and ignore it as long as I was getting the results I wanted. But now that her actions are beginning to reflect her words (she is getting visibly upset), I’m at a loss...

Ok so let’s say I handle this like you suggest, which I think is a good response... How do I stop her from continuing to make these remarks in the future? Do I just let it slide each time and treat it like a shit test? I consider it to be quite disrespectful

Fair play. I decided against mine today. It's such a tight knit group of us that I think it would be way too awkward if it didn't work out (awkward enough if it does...) I hope I'm not hamstering. I will ask her out in my last week a couple of weeks from now. Need to be careful not to enter into her orbit in the mean time.

Thanks for the advice, glad to see someone in the same boat. Mine is very similar in that she laughs loads at my jokes and gives strong eye contact but like you say it could be to find friends. What did you plan to do with the flake / have you got planned tonight with the other girl? Not sure if I should go my traditional date route (few drinks then back to mine) or just go straight to chill at my house since at a work environment it starts off with a friendly vibe rather than with the usual col…

Just to give a bit more background: this is a summer job at a restaurant. I start my actual career next month and have my job lined up and secured. I don't need a reference. This job has no bearing on the rest of my life. In any case this shouldn't affect my chances of a good reference, the only downside is three weeks of possibles awkwardness. Still think it counts as shitting?
