What’s the point of an insult? All I stated was from my research - insults are counterproductive, no need to resort to them. And whether I have Aspergers or not actually doesn’t - you should take what’s written at value of its content. If you have nothing productive or to add to the discussion, then there’s no point in us having this discussion in the first place

Never did I say that because a small amount of people have webbed feet, it means we should circumcise nearly everyone - that’s a straight up strawman of my argument. And what is your deal with asperger’s, maybe you’re projecting onto me? I’m positive you don’t know what Aspergers means if you think your previous statements in any way support me having Asperger’s. And even if I did have Asperger’s - it doesn’t have any relevance to the discussion. I was gonna go and reply to the other posts here …

You’re insinuating Im somehow making a mockery of giving consent or reducing it’s worth? I can assure you I’m not Where did I write “give consent” - I only wrote that in brackets to highlight the fact that babies can’t give consent. Other than that the only other consent related issue in brackets was that I wrote “valid consent” in brackets because I was directly quoting what the original post had written in it Glad you’re inferring heaps about my mental state from stuff like that

She should be jailed for libel, defamation and character assassination. Johnny Depp is probably still facing consequences of the the social, emotional, psychological and financial trauma she put him through

I’m not arguing for why you should do it, because I’m not saying it’s something that needs to be done - I’m just presenting the other side of the argument as to why it’s not illegal and how it’s different to some of the correlations some people were making here. If you read my other posts, i mentioned that I understand that a lot of men resent it and I sympathise with that and obviously it’s horrible that they have to face emotional trauma from something like that but on a global scale that ther…

Again saying someone is wrong isn’t an argument and not informative in any way to the person you’re trying to correct. I never said you can provide proxy for a labiaplasty at all? I was comparing labiaplasty as similar in how it’s done in a majority of cases in health care facilities with surgeons who have training. If you’re gonna read part of someone’s argument and post - read it better next time, instead of providing a judgement of my ability as something I never even claimed nor was implying…

Can you articulate any clear and compelling reasons to support your arguments instead of just making broad sweeping statements without providing evidence for anything you say? Was I talking about botched circumcisions? No. Obviously if it’s botched then it’s done incorrectly. And it still doesn’t make the “technique” crude at all - the technique is developed through research and testing I’m appalled that you’d find scientific research and evidence insulting. I’m only quoting and referencing what…

I never said they did validate the methodology or findings? I simply said it was the most recent one I could find, implying that it would possibly be up to date with current surgical practices and analysis techniques. The method and findings are separate from that

Look man I get where you’re coming from and I agree with you on some points. I could go on carry on and counter what you’re saying and talk about why I think what you’re saying isn’t sufficient to completely make it illegal (which I’m assuming is what you want) around the world (im not saying you’re wrong, I’m saying there isn’t sufficient scientific evidence yet). I’m sure you could do the same for whatever I say as well. The main thing is that we have our different opinions and I respect why y…

While you may see it as cruel, you can’t say that the techniques employed in male circumcision are “crude”. And how is male circumcision done to oppress men? Misandrist would be a strong word to use for most people who circumcise their child. in a majority of cases this is not true. If you’re comparing this to female genital mutilation (which I said was done to oppress females) then in no way does male circumcision oppress males in the same was as female genital mutilation oppressed female; fema…

I understand that this is a very sensitive and personal topic for you, and My sincerest apologies if I’ve offended you in any way. I can see that circumcision has affected your life in a significant way and I don’t mean to minimise that in any shape or form. However, on a global scale, I’ve not previously been aware of studies confirming that this is the case for a statistically significant amount of people and often times can happen due to a combination of other social and psychological reasons…

Well there’s 2 sides to this coin as with anything. I get the point of causing potentially unnecessary harm and putting a baby through a painful experience when it can’t “give consent”. However there are also things which I feel haven’t been properly represented in this thread. First the issue of consent in babies is a very gray and vague area. A baby doesn’t have capacity to give consent, so technically anything that is being done for the baby is without the babies’ explicit consent. From givin…
