I’d say 3-14 is normal, 15+ is high, 2 or fewer is low.

Attractive men aren’t any more assholes on the inside but if they are assholes, they can get away with it

Not saying it will, but it can. Don’t believe me go to a bar outside your white bread, sheltered, suburban or gentrified bubble for a dozen or so nights and try it

1/2 yes. 3 they can be an asshole, but still ruin your life with a metoo or get your ass beat to a hospitalization/death by white knights.

No I agree with looksmaxxing like how you described in your first paragraph. Doesn’t have to be natural.

I hear you and your article is right. But all of capitalism is a sham to profit off of everyone and everything, I don’t see how this is any different.

Your country has like 3 hours of sunlight during the winter, no one in the US has that outside of the tiny state of Alaska. If the depression rates are the same despite that that looks bad on the US

Really? This is showing means in the double digits whereas most studies I’ve seen place men’s median around 5-8
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/21 05:40 AM

This is a mean, not a median. This could just mean there are more outliers with like 100+ Without college degrees which seems more plausible

I’m not sure I agree with that, hasn’t sexlessness tripled or something over the past couple decades?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/20 05:46 PM

There’s a huge dearth of uneducated men (mainly Black and to a lesser extent white) who simply aren’t in the labor force.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/20 05:42 PM

When the sexless losers are a small fraction of the population, of course it will have no impact. I think people are more exploring a hypothetical future where this is 80-90% of men, which would absolutely have huge negative consequences for society

I hear ya, but I’m a 7-8/10, maybe a 9 on my best day ever and I’ve definitely had women feel primal lust for me off the bat. Was it most women? Hell no. But it sure as shit happened lol

The South is just more extreme-more attractive people and Chads/Tyrones for sure but a lotttt more morbidly obese people than when have in the NE or Northwest (Midwest is a different story). Whereas more people tend toward average looking around here. I think a big part is that people up here except rich New Yorkers and DC political elites just don’t care all that much about status up here all that much, we take a European mentality of seeing people as people first before thinking of them as a c…

I’m from Wilmington I’m less than an hour to either city’s suburbia so I can tell you that Philly and Baltimore are very similar in their cities but their suburbs are very different. Baltimore suburbs are much more redneck/Southern than Philly’s.

Don’t care if it’s casual sex, in a relationship I just need to be able to have an intelligent conversation with the person. I got a 2130 on my SATs so if I needed an intelligence match I’d really restrict the fuck out of my dating pool especially since I never went to graduate school and nor did most people in my town or at my job

That is the most fucktarded thing ive ever seen on this sub, and that is saying something. I’ve lived in the Philly and Dallas areas my whole life and gone to the university with the biggest hookup culture in America and this is so far off the mark it’s not even funny

The guy has high social status?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/18 09:54 AM

Yeah that holds true for women, but apparently there’s actually very little relationship between a white man’s SES and his likelihood of being obese, and men of color are actually MORE likely to be obese if they’re middle/upper class.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 03:59 AM
1

Why do you think it’s more stringent in the working/lower classes? Socioeconomic status is negatively correlated with attractiveness, so wouldn’t low SES women either have to correspondingly lower their standards, date up, or price themselves out of the market?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/18 03:51 AM

Honestly as a guy who’s 6’3” I would seriously have pause about LTR with a girl under 5’. Sex with that big a height difference is awkward enough as it is, and I have the genetics for bad bones/back that could make it even more difficult in middle age.

This study seems to confirm general knowledge...women view attractiveness as a threshold factor with significantly diminishing marginal returns above a moderate level, in contrast to how men view it as a differentiating with increasing marginal returns to a very high level. Am I the only person in here who’s taken a Human Resources class and can differentiate between threshold and differentiating competencies?

College gender ratios is something extremely underdiscussed here on PPD. Really helps out most college guys, really burns the non-college ones. Really helps non-college girls get relationships, really makes it hard on the ones in college to hop of the CC and settle down.

It's my understanding that you're something of a libertarian, especially based on your username--I think this post was more discussing Trump-style right-wingers who subscribe to a statist philosophy and gobble down alternative facts like candy. Leaving high school with 7 sexual partners is pretty far from typical. Now, you might happen to have went to a big party HS, or you're more charismatic than you're giving yourself credit for, but that doesn't mean your experience is necessarily typical. However, I will say that the party hate on RP is kinda ridiculous, as long as a girl isn't the type to go out 3+ nights every single week in college it's nothing that would worry me.

I think a "low alpha" just means a top 20% guy but someone outside of the top 10-15%...maybe the guy who gets invited to most, but not all of the high school parties, the top 20% attractive guy who's a bit short or has a bit of a dad bod or is a bit beta-acting around girls. Conversely, I think "high beta" just means a guy who's not in the top 20% but is in the top 30-40%, mostly an average Joe, but probably a guy who's a bit more attractive or confident than usual and unlike most beta males wil…

WHO says that alcohol consumption in Britain is only slightly higher than the US. I can't say for sure having never lived in the British Isles, but from what has been described to me (my ex lived in London for a few months), it seems like the US has more of a "go out rarely and get extremely fucked up drunk" culture whereas the UK has more of a "go out often and drink moderate amounts of alcohol" culture.

Personally, I would never act violently toward a woman unless the life of my girlfriend/wife or hypothetical children were at stake. Liberal BP people will automatically dismiss RP as sexist and thus stay BP. Conservative people are more prone to see human nature as immutable and to take a cynical outlook on it, which makes them more likely to fall in line with RP. PPers are all over the place, but I find that most of us skew a bit left because we tend to be a data-oriented, technocratic bunch and the right in the West has had a tenuous relationship with facts for while.

Okay, fair enough, it's just a dark underside of reddit that happens to have a correlation with TRP, rather than a formal part of their dogma. I concede that point. But it literally mentions "white birthrates" in the first sentence. I'm not attacking Develin's ideas or the essay itself, but expecting to proudly display Mein Kampf on your sidebar and not brand yourself with the "Nazi" label is ridiculous (I don't mean to Godwin TRP, I just want to use a more extreme example for clarity.) /r/PurplePillDebate11/01/17 03:46 PM

Ehh there are some exceptions but a lot, probably most, of the lower class guys with illegitimate kids from several different women aren't exactly alphas, it's just that relationships in the lower classes are less stable. Remember, the vast majority of out of wedlock kids are still conceived in relationships. The guys knocking girls up without dating them are usually pretty alpha though. The issue is-where does the breakdown come? Of course titans of industry should be entitled to the lion's share of society's wealth, but it's unsustainable to concentrate so much money or sex in the hands of a few

I'm not talking about the casual stereotyping (black guys are alpha gangsters, Asian/Jewish guys are wimpy betas, etc.), there's some serious "there's a secret BP plot among Jews to weaken white men to kill us all" level bullshit, stuff that doesn't get upvoted anywhere on Reddit except maybe the islamophobia in news subs. Ehh I would say I try to live some of the prescriptive parts of RP (how to talk to girls, how to act alpha, try to eat better and lose the dad bod), but I'm also hostile to some aspects of TRP (blatant racism/antisemitism/Islamophobia getting up voted, the honest belief the average woman has dozens of sexual partners, the notion that men should never love a woman, the idea that women divorce middle class men for financial gains, to name a few). The same way that people who describe themselves as "moderates" agree with liberals on some issues and conservatives on some. Most of us agree with RP on some things and BP on some things. It's not its own coherent philosophy.

lol I don't think a 280 pound high school nose tackle/drug dealer has future senator written all over him. They're not attracted to these guys' bodies, but their status is an aphrodisiac

Upvoted for the insight, but I'd have to disagree, because men know that being Chad is unattainable, they fail to really try to get hot women. If Chad didn't exist, competition would be more easily winnable and thus men would put in more effort

Plenty of interior linemen and baseball players don't exactly have the greatest bodies...

Learning German vocabulary is pretty easy for native English speakers, my dad learned it in 6 months when he was stationed in Wiesbaden and is still conversant 30 years later. He always struggled with the grammar though...

Apologies for incoming wall of text, I took a Vyvanse earlier: Well plenty of RPs disagree with their own stuff (plenty of them are very pro-LTR or even pro-marriage, hell marriedredpill is its own subreddit). And even if you assert that lots of BPers agree with TRP on a lot of things, wouldn't Purple still be the center of pill gravity instead of "leaning red"? That's like the far-leftists who say "moderates are all secretly conservatives" (even though Hillary won moderates by like 10 points). …

Ehh I don't mind it much, I grew up in Wilmington. I'd probably wanna live somewhere like Old City or Manayunk if I was gonna settle here though, North Philly is a bit much.

Of course it doesn't for everyone, but it will for the average person. Getting a girlfriend is NOT dead easy for any guy at all. And most girlfriends are not nagging bitches who eat away at their man's self-esteem.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/16 06:58 PM
1

Of course not, but that's an easy way to get it!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/16 05:12 AM

How would I best describe myself? I guess "Diet Red Pill", I accept most RP ideas about what causes attraction in the SMP and how to build money/status/looks/game, but I think they have comically misogynist ideas about what women are actually like (the average woman has 3-4 sexual partners in her entire life) and are much too cynical about LTRs.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 10:46 PM

I prefer shoulder length hair, but really long hair or a pixie cut isn't gonna be a knock against a woman for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 10:36 PM
1

This is true on Tinder, but I know plenty of unattractive but high-SMV guys (think 300 pound star high school nose tackle who's a hard partying drug dealer on the side) that get plenty of pussy and plenty of attractive guys too awkward to get many hookups without something like Tinder (I'd probably count myself in the latter group since I lost weight)
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 09:49 PM
1

But isn't that a chicken-and-egg scenario? The man is happier and going out more and more confident because he's popular enough with women to have a girlfriend and knows it
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 09:45 PM
1

I'm pretty much in line with Sanders's policies, though perhaps a bit to the right in a few areas (guns, death penalty). Pretty much what you'd think of when you think of a pro-2A American liberal. I don't get the connection between pills and politics, I can understand that women want a dominant, masculine man (and I myself can strive to be that man) in the home while still supporting equal economic and political rights for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/16 09:39 PM
1

In relationships? Possibly. But a man in the 20-40th %ile is not getting casual sex on a regular basis. That's laughably absurd prima facie.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/16 11:16 PM

Yeah, being tall in Philly has definitely helped a lot with chicks, but there's plenty of short guys who absolutely SLAY here

Fat I don't really mind, but fat AND ugly...yeah I'd prefer to jerk off in a heartbeat.

When I've been in the SMP I've almost exclusively either used Tinder or parties on my college campus to get laid. Solves this problem.

Yes, in ocean city. But as all Mid Atlantickers know anything goes down the shore...
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/16 11:17 PM

Yeah, I don't know if it's that or if we just have more European social dynamics than the rest of the US here on the east coast due to long history and population density. Both true Chads and true omegas are pretty rare out here IMO (and even most of the virgin guys I go to college with still have friends and a semi-decent social life)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/16 09:02 PM
1

Yeah im also from the philly area and most of the working class Italian guys I grew up with aren't exactly Chad but they have decent looking girlfriends and definitely aren't omega males
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/16 07:30 PM
2

I'd be glad to help you write it too, since judging by your post history you're an alt-right guy from the West Coast, and I'm a Liz Warren progressive from the East. Good counterpoint perhaps?

"Middle class trash" wow I finally found the perfect word to describe my upbringing. Middle class income, blue collar suburbia, zero wealth.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/16 12:22 AM

What? Bro, I know plenty of people who engage in casual sex who aren't selfish. And the "death of the family unit" you speak of? Divorce rates have been going down since 1990-and you could make a case that many divorced families are better off that way than together and unhappy/abusive.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/16 07:03 AM

What moral foundations exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/16 05:18 AM

Why do you say that? Single motherhood has its ill effects, but that's usually from relationship sex, not casual hookups.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/16 04:55 AM
1

Ehh I'd hardly describe myself as a chad. I'm 6'2" and have a cute face, but I do have a case of the Dad Bod. Lol and I'm pretty awkward
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/16 03:44 AM

What? You do realize the world is significantly less violent than it was in 1980, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/16 11:09 PM

It's much like Reaganomics for men, the betas will accrue marginal benefits while the Chads will experience manyfold gains. The median sex wage will slightly increase, while the Gross Sexual Product will increase significantly and Gini coefficient of sexual partners will skyrocket. Still, the benefits clearly outweigh the costs IMO
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/16 05:37 PM

As someone in the 130-145 IQ range, I'm very glad that I moved to a homogeneous small town right when puberty started. When "everybody else" is pretty clearly defined, it's much easier to fit in than in a city where "normal" is relative and extremely confusing.

We went off the gold standard to avoid a massive debt crisis in the Third World which would've wrecked the global economy...regardless we're much less socialist now than we were in the 70s.

Yes, I worked as one of the helpers for my uncle (a contractor), and we all acted goofily, and certainly talked about girls a lot, but we never said that we needed to "keep our women in line" or that "all women were cheating whores" or anything of the sort. Same goes for my high school soccer team

/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/14 12:57 AM

I'm purple but red as blood on this topic. Polygamy and polyamory are based off of a fundamental imbalance of power (one partner will always have higher SMV than the other). Ultimately the lower SMV will grow to resent the higher SMV one and the relationship goes to shit. I've never in my life seen a poly relationship occur over a sustained period of time.

Straight white male unemployment is not so much higher than it was so as to distort wage statistics
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/14 03:28 PM

"A long decline since the Enlightenment"? Domestic violence at least in England increased greatly throughout the 17th and 18th Centuries as compared to the Middle Ages. The Middle Ages actually were a time of relative gender equality for the bottom 98% of people (peasant men and women both had to farm)
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/14 04:04 AM

Straight white men*. And I would dispute that even for middle class straight white guys; their standard of living/wages are considerably higher now than they would have been in 1960 (although perhaps not 1970)
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/14 03:59 AM

As for the 15:5 ratio, did it maybe occur to you that more of the family's money in general was spent on the women and children than the men? So the men would naturally want to spend it on themselves because they had less opportunity to spend money on themselves otherwise?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/14 05:29 PM

To be fair, to say that TRP has not convinced anyone outside of its community is a bit of a tautology: if one was convinced by it, one would join said community. Also, this isn't necessarily true; plenty of people have TRP beliefs without subscribing to the subreddit. It's just called other things.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/14 07:16 AM

I read Coming Apart, and it's not so much "patriarchy" that the elites enjoy, it's "good family". Murray even notes that in the elite there are many men who take on higher prestige but lower paying jobs while their wives earn the big bucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/14 11:07 PM
1

It does, but since there are roughly equal numbers of men and women, it implies that a small number of women have a very high number of sexual partners, whereas with men the distribution of number of sexual partners is more even (this is called parity). TRP seems to suggest that a small number of men get much larger amounts of pussy than the average man, whereas this data implies that a small number of women get larger amounts of dick than the average woman.

And I agree, love is that amazing feeling that makes all the BS of being in a relationship or marriage totally worth it.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/14 09:46 PM

I mean, I don't think you could ever get most TRPers to outright say "love is bad". But they basically believe that women are incapable of loving men and that loving women is only going to get you hurt.

Red: *Self-improvement is awesome, as is making yourself as attractive as possible. *Feminism, while not an evil, is pretty flawed. Similarly, the MRA movement, while also quite flawed, brings up a good point and men are disadvantaged in many ways because of their gender. *Gender is not exclusively a social construct; there are some ways in which men and women are inherently different. *You should not be a doormat/Beta orbiter/whatever for a woman nor should you put women on a pedestal. This is …

The sheer fact that men on average have 7 sexual partners and women have 4 should put a huge dent in RP ideology. Common sense and any knowledge of statistics would prove that this means there is far more parity among men than women in terms of the number of sexual partners (assuming all men and women studied were heterosexual).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/14 07:51 PM

This is true, though women are attracted to older men more often than vice versa.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/14 10:07 PM

Some girls look better with long hair, but I certainly know some who look better with short hair. I've dated a girl who had hair that was shorter than mine once and it was never an issue.

Ideally, I want a relationship, though ONSes, FWBs, and hookups are all nice and I certainly enjoy that plenty. I want to feel loved and supported, and to love and support someone. At some point, when I'm finished with school, I want to get married, but only to the person I feel like I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. I absolutely want to get married and have children. While I had two parents, they were divorced since I was like 2 and I've never truly been part of a family. I want to f…

In other news-water is wet, and the sun will both rise and set today for those not living at the polar extremes. Only the most hardcore BPers would think that men and women's brains are wired exactly the same. And I do trust that you are aware that brains can be rewired through outside influences and how it is used, right? Our brains are plastic, not fixed at birth.

I feel so sad when I think of RP men. How someone can close their heart off to love is beyond me. If I'm going to die alone and miserable, what's even the point of living?

In the economic sense, sex is a good, but it is not a currency. It is possible to feel romantic and sexual attraction to a person, and ENJOY both spending time/commitment with/to them and to enjoy fucking their brains out every once in while.

Thank you for the recommendation! Now that I think about it, have you read The Stranger or Siddharta? Both of them in addition to being terrific books advise against emotional attachment to women and incorporate elements of RP philosophy.
