Btw I'd like to add that being the head of a company- any company not just fortune 500- is pretty damn hard. I think we can both agree though that in a ranking of hardest jobs in the world, being a mother isn't in the top 5

sure, i'm not saying its the easiest job in the world. it's up there with some tough jobs. all i'm saying is that it's not the hardest job in the world and women shouldn't go around patting themselves on the back. good for you, you carry your child around and help him go to sleep. you have to care for the child during all times of day and night, you have to clean up and feed it and care for it. but you are not risking life and limb to provide. you are not doing back-breaking labor in the hot sun…

sure, being a mother is a difficult job. caring for a child 24/7 is stressful and demanding...but it's nowhere near as hard as being a coal miner or a crab fisherman or a trucker or a skyscraper construction guy or any number of extremely demanding jobs out there. you have to take into account the guys that work in dangerous jobs to support their families as well. there's nothing more stressful than knowing that if you don't destroy your body your family will have nothing to eat and worse, if yo…

Yes, Jefferson was theoretically and idealistically opposed to slavery. But fact of the matter is that he owned many slaves, he slept with his female slaves and they bore children who, despite being technically white, were still his slaves. He also believed blacks were inferior to whites and only fought to end slavery so that he could ship them all back to Africa and have a whites-only society. THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY! no it's just an intro to sociology class I have to take as part of my GE...the professor is always talking about how men abuse women or women are victims of rape and bla bla bla and his TA who does lectures once a week is majoring in feminism (yes feminism is a major I guess?) so I just want to offer a different perspective on the issue.. I have those same exact fears. It's really annoying because I enjoy interacting with children and think they are hilarious but it doesn't matter.
