I went to a community college in walnut CA. It's usually a part of the manufacturing/ design tech associates degree. You actually could buy a good text book learn on your own, download the sample test from the solidworks website and then pay $100 for the test. It looks like most smaller companies are a good place to start and with experience or the advanced certificate (csw (p)ro or csw (e)xpert) you can make from $25-$30 an hour.
