I appreciate this comment and the other follow-up you made. I also agree with this, it’s really about ingrained behaviors and biases which are sadly still present today, that can have substantial impact in people’s lives and outcomes. I hope OP sees this. It’s really not a hard explanation. Moreso talking about what’s harmful. Talking about benefits has also become a subjective discussion, as there are very few if any objective benefits of being a man. I don’t get what you mean by paying less, for example. Nowadays it’s mostly cultural biases that harm genders, especially in third-world countries.

I do agree for the most part. Especially on this being a petty subject which for the most part involves selfish reasons. The thing is, this is a very narrow approach to it. To me it sums it up right. Though I wouldn’t know if you’re anywhere involved with it. What I’m pointing out is that most usually the topics are about how women don’t care about male suicide rate, male disposability, sexual assault on male, whilst you are now pointing out that being broad on this topic which involves both sides is not really a concern to you. I understand. I mean, he’s not wrong, but it’s almost deceiving to plant the matter that way. That’s what MRA complain about all at the time. About considering a single facet of an issue. With the difference that our activism does little to nothing in a practical manner. Of course many groups in feminism do it as well, but this is helping no one.

I hope I just happened to stumble across the worst in this sub. You are all practically acting like pissed off children. Of course this is true. If you think it’s not, it’s time to widen your comfort zone. Many of the comments in here are exactly the mindset that contribute to this statistic. There’s nothing plain wrong with this article, if only maybe that there’s an over abundance of them.

This is comment is interesting. Obviously, it is impossible to have it figured out, and the implications are far too reaching. I followed this conversation. I’d argue yes to this last part, as that conversation would prove most useless. The concepts that allow the discussion on whether women should vote would be far off reach. So unless you go through the process of explaining all those solved issues, the 20th century man would have an incredibly difficult time following the debate, rendering it useless. So to debate something which we have not even set the grounds for is actually close to fantasy.

Both parts make sense. Though you are ditching the fact that one of the very reasons for abortion, whatever the method for pregnancy was, is to avoid lifelong changes. It most definitely has to do with the precise months of being pregnant, but the main issue is afterwards. Not to belittle. So even though both parties are facing mostly the same life altering responsibilities, not all of them have the option to opt out.

Yes, but then again, only one of them has the option to opt out, the chance to mend mistakes. On the basis of birth giving being dangerous, that’s completely acceptable. But realistically, there probably is a fair share of abortions occurring just because of bad choice making. Which would happen to be just fine.
