Note how I said ‘mostly’. I’m not suggesting that women aren’t participants in our patriarchy. In some ways they are more free to express themselves through their outfits, just not more than once. I think this is a great example of where the patriarchy hurts all of us, not just women, not just men. Everyone.

Which is mostly because other men judge us on wearing something different. The same reasoning that means women are expected to not wear the same thing twice results in men not being encouraged to wear something different.
