Yes. Very well said. They leverage the fear of abandonment to make the anxious person always come back to them because the pain of being alone is far greater than making the change that the dread gamer wants them to make. Look up attachment theory. Dread game preys specifically on anxiously attached people that derive a sense of self worth from external emotional validation. Anxiously attached people are addicted to the emotional validation of their partner. Dread is a way for the person using it to try and enact behavioral change in the anxious person by triggering a sense of abandonment and fear of disconnection in them.
