I think these terms have been weaponized by some women to absolve themselves of responsibility: verbal abuse, gaslighting, and narcissist. 100% agree. These terms are often amorphous and a form of projection. They are accusatory without concrete examples. Even if something loosely fits in the realm of them, it’s used as proof of said thing. The problem with them is that anyone can be classified as verbally/emotionally abusive, or guilty of gaslighting, or being a narcissist by something everyone…

My view: not in this situation. If he claims he doesn't want to be open with his phone because he wants his privacy, that's not privacy. That's secrecy. Anything you purposely have to conceal from you spouse because you don't want them knowing is secrecy. I can certainly give my wife privacy by not going through her phone but that is given by me out of respect and love.
