An allegation is preventing you from doing your job to the fullest potential. Getting HR on the case will essentially be the adults correcting childish and incredibly harmful gossip about you. This not only affects you but also the children you work with because they are being told not to interact with you. You need to be proactive and root this out now, before it snowballs into something bigger. Talk with HR and make a formal report of this and MAKE SURE it gets written down somewhere on file i…

I'll say it again here: It's pathetic that people are downvoting you. Here's my questions from the /r/MRActivism thread: Are you for, or against equal sentencing where the crimes committed by both genders get the same amount of time/punishment? What will feminists do to help the many male victims of DV?

"You won't donate money to our organization?! You fucking misogynist!!!" Really all that needs to be said. Charities aren't owed money regardless of who they are for. I'd suggest looking into whether that is real or a scam.

Even then, I don't think people should leave if they are capable of correcting their attitudes and behaviors. If they find themselves defending shitty circlejerking we should tell them to do some soul searching.

No. I hate what toxic anti-feminism is ruining Men's Rights. I'm against patriarchy theory just like most of us here. But I'm also against shitty circlejerking that turns Men's Rights into a label you can wear. This "diagram" as you call it, is really just shitty circlejerking. It contributes nothing to Men's Rights. It detracts from it.

Men being harassed in the workplace and not being taken seriously for it is so totally a men's rights issue. Men not knowing what to do because they know innately that nobody will take them seriously is another men's rights issue.

Men have every right to believe that a woman sleeping in the bed next to them is going to be happily awoken. If you don’t want sex, don’t sleep in their fucking bed. No. They do not. This is the worst thing I have ever heard.

Oh please, because the most militant members of the liberal men's rights community represents the whole movement, right? This kind of talk is shitty. Stop it. What's best for the child: Giving up the kid so they can have a better life or you both living in squalor? Shit happens. Sometimes you need to do what's best for the kid, afterall. It's not always about women's desires or life choices. Keep in mind that if women have both access to abortion as well as the ability to adopt out, then having a child becomes a choice. Her choice. It is her choice entirely whether or not she wants to have a child. If she chooses to have a child when she is confronted…

Protection doesn't always work. A woman may coax him into unprotected sex if she lies about being on the pill. There are so many variables with sex and protection where the blame doesn't always lie with the man. As for anti-poor... Are men never in poverty? Are men who can't even afford pay child support supposed to pay up anyway? You seem to have forgotten the fact that women have the ability to give up a child to the state if she can't take care of it. Calm down.

Biology dictates that you have a certain amount of time to reproduce. If you can't afford the procedure and are single, but you can still reproduce, take advantage of what already exists. That is my statement. This woman wants to live the dream of reproducing with her next partner. She wants her ex-husband to finance that dream and I think that's ridiculous. You get dealt the cards you are dealt in life. That's what I was getting out of it too. It's like the wells of educated men are drying up. Pretty soon there'll be a marriageable men shortage and all these women are going to be ever so unhappy without them. They'll start having to ration them off or something.

Trolling is antagonistic. Even worse it makes you look like am asshole. Trolling feminists as an advocacy organization is the wrong way to do advocacy.
/r/MensRights25/08/13 02:13 PM

I disagree. The way at the end when they jokingly say "well what are we doing here?" appears to be mockingly and condescendingly delivered. The whole conversation that took place did not ring with sincerity or even taking themselves seriously let alone the concerns that feminists are trying to address. It seemed like a childish effort to get under the feminists' skin. I feel MR-E could have been more effective with the other messages I suggested. But those are my thoughts.
/r/MensRights25/08/13 04:57 AM

I just think MR-E is shooting itself in the foot when they display antagonism for what is objectively not a terrible idea. Advocacy isn't supposed to look like you're laughing at someone's ideas.

They said themselves the point of the slut-walks are to stop the victim blaming of female rape-victims. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Nor do I think it's a bad thing in countering the social construct that women having lots of sex is a bad thing. I think that instead of taking an antagonistic role, MR-E could have brought a different message to the protest instead. Something along the lines of "Men don't always want it, and that's not a bad thing," "Just because it's up, doesn't …

While the advancement of girls in education is a wonderful thing, it has been shown that boys themselves are falling behind. So the idea that "girls are doing 61% better" is troubling. Imagine if boys were doing 61% better than girls; people would come out to complain about that. It's not a good thing when one gender is succeeding over the other when it comes to education. It's a good thing when both genders are excelling in education at the same rate, or as best it can. Boys right now need reso…

Paraphrase: "Just because a woman is content to not work doesn't mean she's entitled to half the stuff that he paid for." I disagree with that sentiment and here's why: my mother doesn't work. Though I can't imagine either of my parents ever divorcing, the simple fact remains is that she did support my father for a long number of years by maintaining the house and doing other stuff so that he could focus on work. I wouldn't call it sexist, but I would call it tasteless. Really. When lauding accomplishments, does physical attraction need to be mentioned? Would anyone here feel a bit uncomfortable if people started associating your success with your physical appeal? There's nothing wrong with men being attracted to women. However, there's a time and a place for those messages. Plus, "Congratulations for your accomplishments, also you're hot" doesn't really ring with sincerity.

Look around, homeless in the streets and gutters are overwhelmingly men, turned away from domestic violence shelters are nearly always men and young teenaged sons. The simple fact that the "cream rises" doesn't mean the people at the bottom don't matter in your narrative. You'll happily gloss over the majority in that demographic that suffer because the few that have all the power are in that same demographic. It's sickening.

So... using gender roles to shame men is something this subreddit approves of? I get that people should be shamed for being shitty people. But when judging people, do we really need to bring their gender into the equation? I say this for the other men that see men being shamed for not being masculine enough. I can't help but think that lowering standards so women can get in will only create a stigma for those women that do manage to get in based on those lowered standards. If a woman can meet the current standards placed on males, I think she'll have earned the respect of her colleagues because she would have gone through what they did. We have to stop valuing (privileging) sex in the way that we, as men, do. Society and the media tells men to value sex. Then they do, and then the culture is re-enforced. I don't believe telling men to value women based on their character is honestly enough. Men need to place value on themselves as well, and tell themselves that they are actually worth something in a relationship. That's what's going on here with "rinsers". In cases of sexual assault, schools should not hold hearings and investigations in what should remain a CRIMINAL matter. They should, however be allowed to issue sanctions after a guilty conviction from a legal court preceding. You know what bothers me the most about this is using sexist male shaming language even though that's a topic most everyone here agrees is a bad thing. I realize saying this risks suggesting the sub turn into some kind of PC fest. But if MRAs want to be able to have some moral high ground on the subject then that's what we would resemble lest they look like hypocrites. I think it's entirely possible to be respectful when having disagreements without using shaming language.

I take issue with bisexuals "deciding" they are homosexual. At this point you started arguing your views of sexuality to justify wearing sexuality as a label. For me, it's not simply a label for some. Its what you are. One cannot change their bisexuality by calling yourself homosexual. The fact still remains that one is still attracted to both sexes. I said as much in the discussion. The conversation deteriorated to semantics and the cultural meaning of sexuality. No ground was gained for either…

yeah, so men shit as women get raped...? Exactly. It's like women wouldn't be affected by laxatives. The only way I think you can justify this by trying to equate laxatives to drugging someone. Then it goes to the extra line of making that connection to date rape. I can see that connection but I know for certain that others won't. A better analog would've been "replace her birth control with placebos," and then something about pregnancy. and why is it assumed that the man purchased the furniture…

Your view is subjective and not scientifically proven. You can't exactly scientifically prove that 'everyone' is bisexual without measuring everyone all the time, so it's an unrealistic expectation. There have been studies that have shown women as having more fluid sexual orientations than men. But we still don't have data or even a thorough understanding of what human sexuality is. It cou…

1: Certain kinds of rape-by-deception should be illegal. In particular, outright impostering someone the person knows personally. My hypothesis: it is a sexist way of thinking that allowed that woman to take it that far. The reason being is that it's the idea that no matter the amount of damage a woman can inflict it is not nearly as much as a man could, even if it's against another woman. Therefore it's acceptable to enable this violence by continuing to record it, and then broadcast the message. I can bet that there was an active decision to not step in and stop the violence. "Slut shaming" is a term originated by sex-positive feminism. It essentially means the shaming of sluts. They are complaining about the negative connotation around the word slut, as though having multiple sexual partners is a bad thing. When sex-positive feminists use the term "slut shaming" they are referring usually to how it is applied to women. When they do this, it also noted how a guy in "macho-land" culture is applauded for having multiple sexual partners. The cognitive dissonance here is…

Labeling men by their dominance is sexist and detrimental no matter how you put it. Men already face the pressure to perform to some idealized form of masculinity. And then those who do perform to that level face additional pressure to maintain it. We throw around alpha, beta, whatever-a and it shouldn't matter. Instead of dancing to those pressures we should focus on ourselves and what makes you happy, not caring about your perceived masculinity or worth as a man. Alpha, beta, whatever-a is jus…

Since its a majority of men in prison, combined with the harsher prison sentences they disproportionately receive, I'd say its a gender issue because of male disposability. Furthermore, our prison system is also poor because it doesn't focus on rehabilitation, furthering the cycle of violence that got those men there in the first place, perpetuating it for their young sons as well. This is good for those prison companies and a travesty for those still stuck in the cycle of poverty and violence.

it is not the womens faults if a man is assumed to be an abuser when he is the victim, it is patriarchal ideals of masculinity backfiring on men who have become victims. It's not really fair for the mother to not have access to her child as it is unfair for a father to not have access to his child. When he says he doesn't want to move for the mother, she raises the question of him wanting to sit next to her son rather than asking another person if they wanted to take her son's seat which was better. Pedophile paranoia. It's something gay men are already exposed to, and it's slowly starting to affect heterosexual men as well. Men already aren't allowed to sit next to children on airplanes because of it. Many months ago a gay man shared his story here of him being suspected as a pedophile because he didn't want to change seats on an airplane for a mother so she could sit next to her son. There's something wrong with our culture.

But is there outrage if a man started interviewing the male players in a locker room? It doesn't sound like it. I just want that point to be made. Really, there just shouldn't be interviews in locker rooms at all. I think that's what it should ultimately come down to. The locker room is a place where players get ready, where they sometimes mentally prepare themselves for the game as well, and they can't do that if there's reporters with cameras asking them questions.

rapey - a made up word to allude to some quality of rape. I hate this word. I hate it because not only is it primarily used to describe a quality or aspect in some men, it is also used to try to say something is 'like' a rape. Rape is rape. Not rape is not rape. Stop saying 'rapey'! It's another thing that hurts the victims of rape because it distracts and detracts from the seriousness of the issue. People want to stop rape. Transitioning requires not only surgery but also hormonal therapy which results in the body physically changing. I've heard it compared to going through puberty a second time. Anime tends to focus on exaggerated personalities that don't mesh with reality. This leads to creepers on both sides of the gender line who try to imitate their favorite immature characters. If there are really more cases of reported sexual assault on the men at these cons, its could stem not only from the exaggerated mannerisms of anime, but from a lack of respect for the personal space of males that hasn't been drilled into the female gender, nearly as often as it has been for the male gender.

A real-world example would be if a man only hires females for a daycare position because he feels that men are simply too rough for childcare... or that men wanting to do that kind of thing are secretly pedophiles. A woman can be misogynist too. A real-world example would be if a business woman only hires men because it could be her perception that wome…

It's nice to see that you have an open mind. Unfortunately, it's hard to cite statistics of a trend isn't really believed to exist in the first place. However, there are stories out there of men who have been exonerated years after being convicted and serving jail time on a false accusation. Here's a link that covers such stories.

I don't know what her mother tells your daughter to make her cry, but if your daughter knows her dad is 100% behind her, and proud of her too, she's going to do 100% awesomely in school, in college, and in life in general. tl;dr you're awesome.

You know, if you're a pretty girl and you suspect you're being offered a raise/promotion because of your looks instead of your work ethic, you don't really have to accept the job do you? You could politely decline, put in your dues, report the manager to HR for benevolent sexism/harassment if you really suspect it. But let's put down the pitchforks for a second. It's hard to debate with an opposing party that views your entire gender as part of very big and very bad problem. It's hard when the opposing party also constantly makes a strawman of your argument so they can happily stab it down. It's like a gay man trying to find common ground with a pastor that views him as sub-human and already has a million reasons to dismiss his humanity on the grounds of some overarching belief structure, and then saying if we want to legalize gay marriage we also want …

The main advice you'll get from here: Talk to a lawyer, fight for full or joint-custody, and be present at the court hearings. Start documenting everything you do regarding her and your child as well. The money and time you've spent with your child should help demonstrate that you're capable of being a good father and are already emotionally and financially invested in your child's development and well-being. I hope others come forward soon.

Regardless of market value as an employee, it's a choice they made. Alimony should not be for a life-time. It should have an expiration date. Feminists assume this is a date-rape song and look for evidence to support it, exactly how feminists assume there's a "patriarchy" and look for evidence to support it, ignoring how the vast majority of men are treated like shit in society and call that "male privilege." It also follows the various religions, where they assume a deity exists an…

Hypersensitive, hypercritical bullshit. I'm not going to take anything those feminists say seriously until they acknowledge female-on-male rape as a legitimate concern that shouldn't be ignored or marginalized. Until then, everything they say is bullshit aimed at making men feel like shit and making women feel like victims.

All of the males we send to jail are certainly well educated, mentally sound individuals with no emotional instability whatsoever. We send the best and the brightest of our population to jail: a glorious, American institution.

It's interesting to note that a very effective way of socialising males is allowing them to be an active participant in the family unit which I believe is the point the Pope is trying to make because, after all, unsocialised men (and women) cause havoc in societies. Thank you for making this point. Could allowing gays to marry and adopt children encourage the socialization of gays? Yes. Excluding a whole group from the valuable institution of marriage puts them outside the normal social structur…

I think they're around because it's traditional, perhaps not really based on merit. It has daft characters and there's no agency. All these girls have to saved by a prince, have to be married, etc. They're often stuck in domestic settings. Some characters like Mulan can only do certain things as a male. And? Are you addressing how they were mistreated in any way? Mulan's story is different altogether in that she actually went out and succeeded in a mans' world that had rigid gender roles. That w…

7) If you are unable to succeed in your career, that won’t be seen as evidence against your sex in the workplace If you, or anyone else, are unable to succeed in your career, (as in you fucking suck at your job), then it's your fault and you weren't fit for the responsibilities that were asked of you. And in all honesty, that statement was bullshit. Men taking female careers, like nurses for instance, are judged as well when they fail. It's called confirmation bias and, last I checked, everyone …

Alternatively, you could show her the Schrodinger's circumcision link that's currently on the third page of this subreddit, though you may want to watch it yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Izozo1oQPoE The first part is a rant with atheist undertones, and the second is the joyous sounds of a baby boy while his genitalia are being mutilated, all with the background of a few select images animated from an actual circumcision being performed, without actual pictures of baby parts.

...That was difficult to listen to and it honestly broke my heart. That was the sound of a baby boy being circumcised without any anesthesia, the sound of a crying, screaming baby boy being put through an incredibly intense, unfathomable amount of pain for the sake of a parent's right to sleep at night, knowing their baby is cut like the rest of the herd.

How about all the arguments against FGM? Just replace female with male, when you encounter a gendered word: It's barbaric. It doesn't take the child's rights into account. The child has no say in the matter. It's medically unnecessary. It forces a child to go through incredible, unnecessary pain while also risking the life of the child. Your child could have fucked up genitalia if the doctor messes up. Your child could die if the operation gets fucked up. The child could get an infection if the …

First: "You assume he would fight back." First, you can't think rationally when you are drunk. You don't think "Hmm, I'm just gonna let someone hit me, and let it go." Have you ever been drunk before? What about drunk, then assaulted? Were you filled with so much rage, you fought back? Yes I have been drunk. I can tell you that if I was punched I would be fucking surprised and bewildered because of how I avoid confrontation. Have I ever gotten angry when drunk? No. Not yet. Second: "You assume t…

I was fine and agreed with your comment until this: Beside's the fact that the boy would have fought back if he was drunk. You assume a man would fight back if he was drunk, after being hit suddenly by a woman. You assume every man's response to violence from a woman is to hit her back, given enough alcohol. You also assume that all inebriated men will react in a violent and angry manner if any woman harms him. You fail to take into account that if the woman is sober, while the man is quite poss…

I am okay with a Supreme Court pick being female for the sake of being female because it is symbolic and symbolism has its place in government. But this idea is stupid. The President needs the best people to guide his administration. The most experienced people will most certainly chosen. Whining about there not being enough women doesn't encourage merit or achievement, it encourages entitlement. No person is entitled to a presidential cabinet position, regardless of gender.

The idea of public humiliation as a punishment doesn't sit well with me. I feel like the holding of hands is a step towards addressing the hostility, but the problems that caused the aggression aren't being solved through public humiliation. Emasculation isn't a proper punishment. If they applied the same punishment to two girls, I don't think it would have gotten the same treatment as the two boys.
/r/MensRights01/12/12 08:31 AM

Honestly, why create a new type of punishment? What do they have on their books that deals with in school fighting? Why did the principal choose to have them emasculate themselves over whatever the normal punishment was? I'm not defending the fighting of students, but if the purpose of this punishment was to have hordes of students call them gay... it sounds like humiliation based on perceived sexual orientation, which is something gay rights activists should be concerned about. As a gay man, I'…

The most unequal thing about this is that the women who squeeze a man's balls against his will aren't seen as the sexual harassers that they are. It's been said before here: a man doing that to a woman would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. With video evidence, he would be completely and righteously fucked by the judicial system. But a woman emasculating a man is fine and fucking dandy. Our culture is fucking insane.

There is no way to determine, on the spot, in a violent confrontation if one is using too much force for a single punch in self-defense. The only thing on a person's mind should be to stop the confrontation by any means necessary. I also dislike the idea that a man has to hold back for a woman. If a woman strikes a huge man, she should rightly fear the consequences if he chose to retaliate or when he has to defend himself.

You're creating a false dilemma where you only see those two outcomes. It's not going to be either of those two situations if you actually go out and find a woman who is receptive to men's issues. I never said you needed someone to "complete" you. Are you closing off a pretty core experience of human life because the legal system is fucked? If that's the only reason then it's a pretty shitty one. I guess Thank god she had a conscience because after a few months she abruptly ended it when she realized either I wasn't going to let myself be (or, she couldn't bring herself to try and use me as) her financial support. doesn't qualify as a bad relationship then. I could condemn you for being the stereotype of the woman-hating MRA, but that would be pointless since your statement pretty much points that out. The mental back-flips you must do to condemn her words and assume so much about her is so fucking hypocritical, comparable to the radical feminists that assume every man is a sex-hungry animal. Those assumptions only hurt the causes you are advocating for.
