This would be a good argument if anyone was arguing that masculinity is toxic, and not that "toxic masculinity" is toxic.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with "not texting someone back". She's under no obligation to keep in contact with him.

I guess you're right, masculinity isn't toxic. But toxic masculinity is.

There are multiple benefits to being taller than average, not just taller than one specific person. Taller people make more money, advance further in their careers, are seen as more trustworthy. Life is simply better with taller people. Plus by not dating a sub-sixers women avoid annoying morality lesson song and dance numbers.

Not saying they shouldn't be sent to jail, just that mandatory sentencing is a societal ill.

Well, diluting the sex offender registry with bullshit that's not "this person is going to rape your children" isn't a good thing. False accusers no more belong on there than public urinators. Mandatory jail time creates inequities, our justice system should moving away from mandatory sentencing, not adding more of it. Not saying they shouldn't be sent to jail, just that mandatory sentencing is a societal ill. Don't see anything wrong with paying legal fees for the accused though.

One, I'm not shitting on them. Two, I said they can spend their money on whatever unhealthy stuff they want. They can spend our money on making sure they don't starve to death while they find a job.

What part of candy bars for EBT has anything do with feeding children and keeping their health good? Isn't candy for EBT the opposite of that goal?

If you're poor enough that everyone else has to support you, you should not be content. You should be made to try and achieve more. Society depends on the number of people living off others to be low compared to the number of people contributing. We couldn't sustain everyone living in trailer parks.

Ooh, that's a very interesting question. "Were most people on welfare net-positives for society before they ended up on welfare?" I strongly suspect not. The bottom 50% of the country pay like... 2 or 3% of the income tax? For "getting a return on the taxes you paid" to be a thing you would have to have made good money before and now turn to EBT. I can't find any numbers on it, but I suspect the number of EBT recipients who used to make good money is dwarfed by people stuck in a perpetual cycle …

They are as free to spend their money on frivolous and unhealthy things as anyone else.

Why shouldn't it be unpleasant to live off others? As a society we have a limited number of ways to prevent behavior that's antisocial. We can shame, we can make it unpleasant, or we can make it a crime. An easy way to tell if something is selfish is ask yourself "what if everyone did this?" Like, throwing your food wrapper on the ground likely isn't going to hurt anything. But if everyone did that, it would. Running your AC full blast all summer when you aren't home, driving a big gas guzzling …

Local grocery store puts out bouquets of candy around Valentine's day with a sign that says "ebt eligible".

As a motorcycle rider I don't think the majority of the population would agree with you. Y'all try to kill people way more often than you think.

OK, so you think it's only OK to make fun of nazis if they make effort to let everyone know they are nazis. And you also think that people who overeat to the point of morbid obesity are completely blameless in any "effort to let everyone know they are fat"?

No, you can do the "I know it when I see it" thing, I want a real rule. Get those gears in your head grinding to life, come up with something that isn't just some clowns subjective feelings on the subject.

In your example it would be if the rockclimber jumps off the side of the mountain repeatedly (like picking up the fork), knowing it may end him up in a wheelchair. In which case I don't see an issue with making fun of him. But Ok then, let's try playing it your way. Give me a nice simple rule where I can make fun someone who chooses to be a nazi, but I can't make fun of someone who chooses to be fat.

Let me accuse you of racism, then not make any real arguments. Because I have no real arguments to make Cool, good to know.

Well no, again, being black is just who you are. But every time you choose to shove another cupcake down your gullet you're choosing to be fat. Also, people absolutely have the right to give people shit for their choices. They don't have to listen, and there's a line where following them around saying becomes harassment, but there's nothing anymore wrong with saying "wow, you're a land whale!" than there is saying "you Nazi prick!" or "fuck you redneck with your mullet and your lifted truck and …

My understanding is that trans people are one thing inside and are simply trying to match that on the outside. They didn't choose to be a man in woman's body or whatnot, so that wouldn't really work. And being fat is an action; it's eating a lot and choosing not to do anything to burn off the extra calories. Like... a swastika tattoo on your forehead is your appearance. Can we give you shit for it? Of course. You chose to do that to yourself.

Black is a inalienable part of who you are though. Fat is a choice, like "being a Nazi" or "liking anime". It's perfectly acceptable to give people shit for their choices.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
