the whole kissing the parents on the lips thing is just too weird even for me.

Did your family never hug and kiss or is it just you? I mean, to each his own, but i love having an affectionate family and being affectionate in general. If a peck on the cheek and a hug irked you so much, don't ever come to Spain or other Mediterranean countries. It's a standard way of saying hello.

I grew up without my father, but my mom would have done the same thing. Aside from that, I would never have acted like this at 10. By 9, I was already spending most of my time on the city streets with my buddies. If i were to act like that in front of them, the humiliation, ridicule and possibly ass-kicking I would get from them would be more epic than a kiss on the cheek from an adult woman.

i agree with you 100%. Maybe it's because my family is Spanish and we grow up hugging and kissing a lot, but this dude's story seems a bit overboard. I grew up my entire life having to give two kisses to all family members as well as friends of the family, all of them, no matter was sex they were and same went for the girls in my family. Many times when I come to this subreddit instead of it being Mensrights it feels like, "we're a bunch of whiny fucks that can't be men enough to suck it up."

maybe it's because i'm a habitual law breaker, but none of this bothers me. regardless, we're all entitled to our opinions and points of view.

Is this from personal experience? And do you get laid with that attitude? If you work with a person, have a few conversations with them, find some sort of mutual admiration, then ask them out. How the hell can asking a coworker out for a drink get you arrested?
/r/MensRights18/06/09 11:05 AM

what do you describe as "admiring"? Are you staring and being creepy or are you going up to her and asking her out for a drink?

after reading all the comments that are getting upvoted and comparing them to those that are being downvoted, I can't help but agree. This subreddit is one of the few that I have a hard time coping with, on the one hand I think that a double standard exists with certain laws and justice in general when it comes to sex so I enjoy some of the posts. But reading the things that some guys are saying here is like you said, "sad". These guys seem to be blaming society for being too scared to approach …

I've traveled to many parts of the world and lived in many places in the United States. I had many positions in different companies with various mixes of co-workers. I am not a social butterfly, but neither anti-social. There is nothing wrong with approaching a woman and saying, "hello". Sometimes it can lead to something more, sometimes she tells you to "fuck off."

and as a result would rather downvote you than taking part of the blame for not getting any.

yeah i didnt expect the downvotes either. I mean their is such a thing as tact and taste. You can approach a woman without being a dirty scumbag. Say "hello" and test the waters.

whatever, grow a pair and approach her anyways. just don't rape her.

No, seems they rather focus on repressing the sexual curiosities of children. This story makes it out to seem that the only bad was caused by this little boy.
/r/MensRights26/04/09 11:26 PM

exactly, this boy was not even sexually developed yet. Therefore, i'm assuming, the things he did were done out of recollection from past abuses to which he was subjected. With a more caring and understanding foster family, he might have resolved these issues and therefore never reach the point of sexual predator. I would try to find out more about that Uncle of his.

Little boy had a traumatic past. Little boy had issues. Little boy was probably scolded too many times for being a little boy with issues. Little boy got no real help. Little boy hanged himself. Cunt reporter calls him an eventual sexual predator.

Piss poor journalism. You don't put any opinions into a news article, let alone begin with one.

Sorry, i skimmed through the story and didn't take notice of that. Now that i read it thoroughly, I'm pretty disturbed. The girl’s age is not being released to protect her identity, police said. Last Friday, a female teacher and coach was arrested after Durham police caught her allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy. I won't blame it on bad journalism because I do not know the amount of information provided to the reporter. However, from personal experience, a reporter can …

I worked as a reporter and the paper's policy was to not print the names of victims of sex crimes, unless they came foward and requested they be heard.

I'm torn about this case. On one side, the system should have done some proper investigation before believing his confession. On the other hand, he's a moron.

This man seems like a pushover. I mean he consulted her when the other guy died and then took her to lay a flower on his remains. There is a fine line between being a nice guy and being a sucker.

I don't think you can say you're being judged when someone is simply pointing out the truth. These woman are terrible human beings that are too special to be bothered with doing the essential to assure the health of their unborn demon seed. It's probably best that they abort asap, no need to spread them genes.

There have been several times when I've seen a child walk astray from their parent or care-giver and wanted to help, but was afraid of being confused for someone who was trying to do the exact opposite.

Right on man, and congratulations. I'm a closet romantic and like to have someone and be "in love" just like anybody else, but one cannot confuse the desire to have these things with the actual thing, hence I rather take it calmly and hopefully I have the same luck that you've had. Cheers.

I've reached that age where many of my friends are getting married. Most end up with partners that they simply just settle for; they complain constantly about them, have nothing in common and don't seem to work together well, but nevertheless they marry. I don't get it. I rather stay single than marry someone with whom I am not compatible.
