Ironic because I literally posted at least 7 comments that were heavily upvoted. But since you seem to think the only words that count on a forum are those found in the initial replies, here’s one with 300+ votes. Did you know that several things can be true at once? Here, people are basing their ultimate judgment on his withholding info, but they’re also torching him in many replies and even initial comments for ghosting his cheating ex-wife.

Hard disagree. There are tons of comments torching him for ghosting and not enthusiastically wanting to be a father to this child. I don’t really have any problem with the withholding-info judgments, as those comments aren’t talking about his leaving the ex and shaming him for how he did it. Even so, I actually think there’s a debate as to whether it’s okay to wait and withhold certain types of info until you know it’s for certain, so at the least the harshness of those judgments is somewhat odd…

To be honest if your relationship is as you have described it here—just fighting, unpleasantness all around, etc.—then it wasn't really a relationship by that point, was it? Writing by far. There's something different about recording thoughts with a pen/pencil versus a computer (or for some a phone–think of apps like DayOne, etc.). I think it's good for both parents to work. Your family income matters more than your individual income. The more money you make, the more opportunities you'll be able to provide for yourself and your family (most importantly the child). Neither of you should quit your jobs, instead you should try to keep rising in your individual workplaces to increase fiscal flow into your bank accounts. I completely agree with you Neopolitan. I know plenty of jobs that pay a lot but in terms of the work itself, it is an unattractive occupation. I think that bringing in a six figure salary at a shit company will not pull in women to fuck versus being a Chief Executive at a relatively large business. Yes, income matters, but so does the work you do to earn that wealth.
