Maybe that's it yeah. But I simultaneously wanted to be his romantic partner and also suck his dick. Strange part of my life, for sure. Can I put that down to being similar to the death-wish example?

How do you know she'll fuck others though? Or wants to fuck others?

If I'm being honest with you guys, and myself, I can say that I understand this relationship probably won't last. Unfortunately I've got to the stage of attached where I don't want to break up with her until she oversteps some mark or it becomes more clear that we won't work out. With that being said, this is very personal so I feel kind of bad for sharing, but at the same time I'm under a pseudonym so it doesn't really matter: she was abused pretty badly by a man as a child. This, to me, could …

Fair, that makes sense. One more question, though. We've dealt with girls, but what about guys? I doubt it will be relevant because she doesn't seem to spend any time with guys at all, but just hypothetically: what if she wanted to go on holiday with a guy friend? If she's a lesbian, this would be fine, but her being with me casts doubt on that claim, even if she does say she's never been attracted to any other guys. So I just treat her as if she's bisexual?

What do you mean by "she's made her decision, she wants to fuck other people"? Not playing dumb, genuinely don't understand what you inferred that from. From what I can tell she does want to fuck me, she initiates sexual stuff just as much as I do.

My problem is, take the hypothetical example of going on holiday. If my straight ex went on holiday with a guy friend, I wouldn't be okay with it. If my "lesbian" girlfriend goes on holiday with a girl friend? What about if she goes on holiday with a guy friend? I can't seem to reason my way to any conclusion regarding boundaries about such things.

I like LTRs, never been one for one night stands or hooking up. I enjoy the feeling of falling in love with someone and caring for them. I just don't know where I stand with how I should act with this one

Already attached bro :( But not to the extent where I'll let it influence my decisions. But still to the extent where I don't want to lose her, if I can help it, yes.

This is true. I've made another thread about my own issues with attachment and neediness. I've learnt a lot in the past couple of days from the threads I've made, and I think I'm only now accepting I need to work on myself to stop shit like this from happening.

Òh yeah, and I forgot, she also told me she probably wouldn't be alive if she hadn't met me. Then said sorry that put pressure on you I don't mean it.

Then she said she's going to go in February or Easter instead because she wants to spend January with me

So she told me today that she's going to go to America, San Francisco, with one of her girl friends back home in a couple of weeks, because they found cheap return tickets, lol.

Does her openness about her attachment issues and other psychological issues not count in her favour? At least she seems somewhat self-aware and wanting to overcome it

Thank you for the fantastic reply, I'll try to keep all of this in mind. The new thread's here if you have any other advice: https://www.reddit.com/r/asktrp/comments/5kcvz4/does_my_new_girlfriend_have_bpd_she_has_all_the/

Yeah I'll make a new post I think. Like I said in my post just, I don't think my brain registered all the red flags

1

oh fuck how could I forget . . . she was addicted to coke last year. How had I forgotten all these red flags. It's like my brain just didn't even bring them up as anything to worry about. Oneitis? I think maybe it's because she's the first girl I've been with where I've so far had no disagreements with or not trusted or had issues with. Which I guess is a red flag in itself as the previous girls that I did have these normal issues with from the start were largely mentally stable. Or the previous…

In fact, come to think of it, I vaguely remember doing mental illness tests together online and hers coming out with high levels in a lot of things, psychosis, anxiety, etc. etc. And I even think I remember her saying she reckons she has BPD lmaooo. Kind of held her negative psychological traits like a badge of honor. Courtesy of victimhood virtue signalling culture I guess. But her doing that made me think that it was less likely to be the case, if you get me? Because in my experience those tha…

Whenever we cuddle and she smiles and (constantly) tells me how great I am I sometimes feel like her smile's fake, and it actually makes me shiver sometimes, but I'd put that down to being paranoid. And other times it seems completely real. Is that a trait? Is someone with BPD faking it due to their attachment and fear of abandonment?

She has admitted to finding fun in hurting bugs when she was younger but says she feels guilty about it now. Says she's a nihilist and thinks there's no point to things. Also when I mentioned that I went through a phase of thinking I was a psychopath when I was younger (as a sort o ha-ha how stupid was I back then thing), she said that she did the same too, and often makes half-serious jokes about being a psychopath and lacking empathy. Watching emotional films where I get teary she'll often sho…

She's had therapy before, said she'd be willing to try it again. What has me confused is her combination of being attached but also seemingly okay with me living my life. For instance my friend came back from America for a week and I spent pretty much all my time with him and she actively encouraged me to do so, and seems to actively encourage me to live my life without feeling the need to constantly sees her. I think it's clear she realises she's got attachment issues and tries to actively comp…

So far she's seemed incredibly emotionally attached. She says she misses me a lot even after only having not seen me for a day. I was expecting the opposite for someone like her. Will that change?

Did they seem okay at first? It's frightening how little red flags she's given compared to my more "mentally stable" ex's

Thanks. Think I needed to hear that. Agree with most of what i come across on this sub but never felt okay doing stuff like this
/r/askTRP26/12/16 05:23 AM

Don't think I will. But I always thought this sub's advice was to go for stuff like this, spin plates, etc. Was just wondering if there's a reason not to feel guilty, why I would find it acceptable to do so.

I'd feel guilty for cheating because I've entered an unofficial "contract" with another person that I love that I'd then break. Not sure how I can de-condition that guilt

We both do politics related subjects at uni, she's pretty SJW just not too vocally, and I'm the opposite. We usually say we won't discuss that sort of stuff with each other but if she brings it up I don't want to not engage as I'm usually pretty vocal with my political opinions etc. But yes I do try to avoid it wherever possible. And cheers I'll have a look.

Not oneitis dude that's why I dumped her 😂 Just struggling with principle (not being friendly to her) vs pragmatism (for the sake of awkwardness in the social group)
/r/askTRP16/09/16 11:47 AM
1

Yeah I'm thinking along the same lines. Just hope it doesn't make shit too awkward with my friends
/r/askTRP15/09/16 10:00 PM

Problem is I'm already in that situation. She's a part of my social group, admittedly not as much as my other friends. So whether or not to extend the olive branch (after what she's accused me of) is the current dilemma. If she hadn't said that shit I'd be fine doing so
/r/askTRP15/09/16 09:59 PM
1

Yeah I've already got rid. Was just asking about whether to go no contact or try to plate. Don't think that's an option any more though, she's been posting shit on social media about me being controlling and manipualtive and toxic etc. etc. blah blah :')
/r/askTRP13/05/16 01:28 PM

Yeah I read them. Some also recommended plating though. I tend to agree with you though. What would you recommend I do about the social situation? Social circles being intermingled and all.

UPDATE guyzzz: I did it. Just dumped her. She's been telling me she's guna be revising all day for the next week (but I can still see her and just chill together as we have been doing) because she has exams etc. coming up. Cool. I ask her what she's doing today and she says revising. Not online on fb much. Ask her if she wants to go for a couple of drinks cause nice weather, she says not today but soon if the weather's still nice. I say okay and go to the gym. Walk round hers after gym and messa…

Yeeeee man think I needed that as some catharsis since I never talk about shit like that to anyone really since no one I know is RP haha. And mannnnn but my tingles. Is all that stuff bad enough to necessitate demote/next?
/r/askTRP08/05/16 05:15 AM

actually no, you know what fuck it, I'm just guna say it's not even okay this once. Fuck the fact that she's already had it planned and stuff, she has to decide whether I'm worth changing her plans for, whether our relationship is worth it.
/r/askTRP30/03/16 02:02 AM

I see where you're coming from. I've actually planned out a pretty long message explaining to her that it's crossing a boundary to sleep in the same bed and she should have known this and not even asked me. But I've also said in it that I'll let it slide this once if there really is no way around it, as she's had it planned for months and has paid for it etc. But also reaffirmed at the end that in general it's not an okay thing to do, as she needs to know that. Does that sound reasonable? I feel…

I'm not willing to give up on the relationship yet, but this has definitely been a red flag for me. My plan is if she asks me again about it (and only then) I'll say that I'm not okay with it out of a matter of principle but understand that she's already got the tickets and can't afford another room with another bed and stuff. Not much else I can do really. I guess I'll be keeping a closer eye on stuff, especially how the both of them are with each other.

Cause her sister's friend's going that she doesn't really know: 1 bedroom, 2 beds: her + her friend in one bed, her sister and her sister's friend in another. I think you're right about the abundance mentality, except I'd point out that she's not a big drinker, just comes out with me when I go drinking (so maybe I'm the one with the problem there haha)
/r/askTRP29/03/16 03:14 AM

Naaaa I don't really wana do that. When i say I'm not fully RP it's cause I agree with all the assessments of "this is the way things are" but I don't currently have it in me to start plating people and doing stuff I wouldn't want my s/o to do to me. I'm not stuck with oneitis any more but I am kind of stuck in a mindset of not wanting to flirt with other girls and to remain loyal, if anything just to not be a hypocrite and apply different standards to myself that what I'd expect of her. I think…

Right guys, potential solution or not? : I tell her I'm not okay with her sleeping in the same bed as someone (for reasons given in these comments) and say I just didn't want her having to spend more money cause I know she doesn't have much atm., but say she should have him sleep on the floor or her sleep with her sister instead. I.e. use the money as an excuse for why I agreed to it in the first place

Fuckkkkkk guys why did I say it was okay, anyone got a time rewinder?
/r/askTRP29/03/16 02:48 AM
1

Ah fuck you're right. I was guna say can I not just go back and tell her that I don't think anyone staying in her bed is acceptable, but then she could just be like but you were okay with it yesterday, and the only excuse I can give for that is by saying I wanted to show her I trusted her and not seem insecure, but that'd be a fucking lame ass thing to say so I can't say that. I dun fucked it haven't I? So let her do it and dread game? Or not let her do it and dread game?

Guess I could ask to meet him first, I think that'd be reasonable

So you think I should stick to saying it's okay?
/r/askTRP29/03/16 02:34 AM

Nah she didn't assume I would, she said she thought I'd say no. Idk she thinks I don't trust her so I figured I'd show her that I do, but didn't really consider the ramifications. I guess I felt like me showing I actually care that she stays in a bed with her friend would be some sign of insecurity on my part. I do feel she's worth it, what do you reckon I should do from here?
/r/askTRP29/03/16 02:32 AM

She never used to go out, really, until she met me. That's why I started to like her so much, because she didn't seem like one of those clubbing girls. She's only been getting drunk when she's been coming out with me, and I tend to go and get drunk 2x a week at uni. She's not done it once without me, and before she started seeing me she barely went out to bars or clubs (it's our uni's students union) or anything at all

I think love is a strong emotional connection to a person. I don't believe it's some metaphysical airy-fairy thing, I'm fully aware that it's just a chemical reaction in the brain, but I would simply define love as a feeling of emotional connection and care for a person that transcends the usual feelings of having a "crush" on someone. I don't think it can easily be defined, as it's a very subjective experience but I just think you know when you experience it. As for self-esteem, I consider it s…

I'm attempting, at least, to be open-minded, so please don't think I'm merely going to seek validation for my opinion and be too stubborn about it. Yes I made this to seek validation for my disagreement but I won't hold on to it stubbornly if I'm proven wrong. I feel like I should give you a bit of info about my relationship and my girlfriend: We've recently started getting very serious, and she tells me she's looking forward to finishing uni and living together with me. We've also spoken about …

Why is she necessarily keeping herself on the market though? I seek validation from other women because it raises my self-esteem (I admit to having some self-esteem issues that I'm trying to work on). She also readily admits to having bad self-esteem (she used to have an eating disorder, for example). I think she only seeks validation for self-esteem and not to keep herself on the market. And why is that a bad thing? Whenever I see people respond with "your girlfriend is doing this for validatio…

Why are her actions bad? Because she goes clubbing? Why is clubbing bad? Because she's seeking validation? Why is validation bad? Thus me making this thread. And if you say that she's not seeking validation and is instead looking to cheat I'd question how you can know my partner better than me.
