It will be easier for you to remove your expectations about a result if it's just a straight-up random comment (again, within reason. Don't be ignorant for the sake of being random). 2	Not trying to freak them out . Yeah, it's pretty tough to get a parking lot situation to go your way. While I'm no expert at this, I think one thing you could try in public settings is just making an off-hand observation about the situation or some kind of corny one-liner and then walk away. Get yourself used to success being the delivery and not necessarily the response.
