It would probably be more useful to compare the numbers for homosexual encounters since then the rate of casual sex won't be biased by the ease or difficulty of finding a willing partner. Just because a casual sexual encounter happens doesn't mean both parties equally wanted it. From your article: "In terms of why men and women sought hook-ups, there was a fairly big gender difference overall, with predictable gender differences on items you would probably expect such as "I had a hookup because …

This study is specifically about sexual intercourse? https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5675825/ Another potential limitation of the study is that we combined self- and partner-stimulation datasets for analysis. Although our findings of the self- and partner-stimulation groups yielded no significant group differences at orgasm and served as a rationale for the combined orgasm group, further studies of self- and partner-induced orgasm are warranted. What would be my motivation for playing d…

This article and the single study it cites are referring to orgasm or sexual pleasure in general, even if solo. If you can get all of these benefits by maturbating then why do you need sexual intercourse? I didn't say sex is trivial or unimportant. I'm saying that there is not enough evidence to support your claim that it is necessary for mental well being.

You provided evidence for a correlation but not interiors? Do you understand the difference? I asked some questions which highlight the difference but you ignored them. Who is playing dumb here? I don't know any incels currently though I've gone 25 years without sex before. It's unpleasant but survivable if you don't stake your self worth onto sex. Can you explain more how the hormones which cause puberty also cause mental problems in the absence of sexual intercourse? Is every celibate, post-pu…

You made the claim that sex is important for mental health so the burden is on you to support that claim. As of yet, you have not provided sufficient evidence. You're saying incels are depressed and suicidal because they can't have sex. Couldn't it also be the case that they can't have sex because they are depressed and suicidal? More to the point, what's your evidence that sexual intercourse will alleviate these conditions? If I'm strawmaning your position... then what is your actual position i…

One day you will discover it's possible to have sex with the same person more than one time.

There could be an association between the two because depression leads to reduced sexual activity. From your link: "Further research is needed to determine directionality, causality, and potential modifiers of this association." comparing children to adults I'm saying your argument reduces down to, "I was perfectly happy as a child but now that I have unsatisfied sexual urges my life is ruined!" Am I strawmanning you?

Do you have any evidence that lack of sex causes those mental issues? Couldn't it instead be the case that poor mental health causes lack of sex? Do you think children are all suffering from reduced mental health because they are generally abstinent? Even if it does cause issues, what's your evidence that paid sex fixes them?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 10:35 PM

No, the proper analogy is Elon telling you that you don't need money to survive. Obviously you need money more than sex to survive in modern society. That's why we have charity and welfare for the poor. Are you arguing that we should have government provided sex-care? I think loneliness and lack of intimacy are serious problems but I think your solution of buying friends and sex partners is just going to make it worse. To be fair, I've never tried but I hope you find something that works for you…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 01:44 AM

This is a highly entitled perspective. You can survive without sex. Having sex with someone who doesn't care about you isn't going to fix your life.

First, I'd like to challenge your premise that we are in the midst of a "sex war". Most men and women engage in romantic relationships and cohabitate, or at least more than there are people online pretending like there is a war. Are you a traitor to your sex every time you give your mom a hug? Exactly what kind of support are you looking for from males? Why does the presence of a female or male feminist prevent those males from providing it? I don't think there is enough demand for 100% male spa…

I think it's unfair to characterize the entire era that way when it's less than 1 out of every 1000 scouts being abused. Glad they got sued for covering it up though.

We have the same reason now that we've always had: an instinctive sex drive. The biggest difference in the modern era is now you can satisfy it without making a baby (birth control) or even meeting a person (porn).

"A lot of women on reddit hate men who voted for trump" does not support your conclusion that "dating is absolutely horrible for men and all men should go MGTOW." What's your evidence that they only hate men who voted for Trump? I don't think they like women who did either: https://np.reddit.com/r/Feminism/comments/1gmz4f2/53_of_white_women_voted_for_trump_again/

People who complain aren't looking for advice, they are just complaining because it feels good to complain. In general women are going to disregard advice and choose whoever is hottest anyway, just like men do. Are you going to start dating only ugly women because they have fewer options? No, you will find the highest quality mate who is trustworthy. Besides that, having fewer options could also be a sign that they are likely to mistreat you. (For example, in case they have a bad personality.) N…

I didn't comment on whether women only care about looks or not. I'm just pointing out that even if women only cared about personality OP still has some work to do before any want to date him. At the end of the day OP's post isn't "here is what you women should do to improve your lives" it's "I'm horny and lonely so here's what you women need to do to fix that."

If you are advising women to lower their standards to suit your own interests then you don't have a personality that anyone would want.

Fruit doesn't come with expiration labels around here but I see your point that shaving can (particularly for men) make you appear younger than you would with hair and so that could be "deceptive". That said, I don't consider food that is missing an expiration date to be "deceptive" since you can still examine it and assess freshness in other ways. It's the difference between removing information vs. adding false information.

The conclusion of this study is that genes likely have an impact on personality traits and psychiatric disorders. It doesn't mention confidence since that isn't a personality trait. The conclusion isn't "confidence is genetic and so you don't have control over it."

What's your evidence on the claim that confidence is genetic or even heritable at all?

Past waves of Feminism rightly identified that women were second class citizens and should be treated equally. Current day Feminism is Marxism with lipstick and eyeliner. What's confusing is that the same word is used for both.

I'd rather argue about the general case but you can't answer my question about why it would feel good for a woman to marry a man she doesn't care about (as you claim women generally do). Unfortunately we cannot argue about that general case because you keep dodging. Would you like to dodge the question again for a third time in a row?

Can imply possibility not certaintly. Thank you for conceding that it is possible for a wife to simultaneously care about her husband and her own feelings at the same time. Now, do you care to respond to my question about how it would feel good for anyone to be married to someone that they do not care about (as you claim every wife does)? Oh yeah surely something that enforce country wide curriculum don't existe right? No, the US Department of Education does not enforce curriculum (if it will ev…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/25 05:14 PM

every wife really don't care about their husbands, their care about their own feelings. Both men and women date or marry because of their own feelings. You can care about your own feelings and another person at the same time. Setting that aside, do you really believe it feels good for a woman to be married to someone they do not care about? you don't get to raise your daughter, school does If you don't like your local school district's curriculum then it's your duty as a parent to either relocat…

At a societal level out assurance should be equal protection under the law. Unfortunately there are never any assurances in interpersonal relationships so you just have to be careful when forming them and know when to cut your losses.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/25 06:37 PM

Perhaps they don't, but we want them to. We should lead by example instead of sinking to their level.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/25 06:18 PM

If a man chooses to remain married to a wife who doesn't care about him or raise a daughter who doesn't care about him, that's generally his own failure.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/25 06:15 PM

I can see why those men don't care about feminism but even then I think it's fair for men to care about women's rights as much as they want women to care about men's rights.

You could make a study where 2 groups of people go to therapy but only one goes outside and exercises. I don't know if the aforementioned studies did that but it's at least possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/25 03:33 PM

No women ever cared for you so why care for them? For most guys, the person who cares about them most is their mom, wife, grandmother, daughter, etc. While the current western feminism movement has a lot of extra junk that goes beyond egalitarianism there is still plenty of reason to care about women and their place in society. 6.Being a "Misogynist" carries more benefits and privileges. Its clear asshole men and misogynists get more women and have a higher chance to get GFs. You can benefit off…

Women are in general less interested in casual sexual encounters than you are. You could go onto Grindr and find plenty of dudes willing to sleep with you too but you don't because you don't feel any desire for that.

Women's dating strategy is to run for a guy that every other woman wants so he doesn't put in the effort. If he's a guy that every woman wants chances are he's been busting his ass for years.
