I have given a lot of thought to it, and almost all of the assertions against me are not true. I can't address all of your points because I'm trying to get out of here for my own sake, but I appreciate you taking the time to carefully write them out. First, the toxic masculinity the video is talking about is the construction of masculinity that our culture has created--that men have to be violent, sexually aggressive, tough, emotionless, etc. This construction was not made by men alone, but by a…

I will, and never return, in about five minutes. Enjoy?

I appreciate your honest, thoughtful response. I'm leaving this thread because it's been quite bad for my mental wellbeing today, but I personally will keep those issues in mind for my own activism, as I have always tried to, and wish you the best in your pursuits.

....that's a mature way to live in the world. Assume negative things about people you don't know and then purposefully refuse to learn otherwise.

Thank you... I was not trolling. I really thought I could strike up a conversation and perhaps bridge a gap between these communities. I obviously failed.

???? You are delusional. You do not know me in the least. I have nothing against men, only a few in particular (just as there are a few women in particular I don't like either). This is not about men. It's about culture, media, and society.

What the hell? I don't even know where to begin. But I can assure you I'm not sexist nor do I understand why you wouldn't want another person's help simply based upon their gender...

I can agree with that and I appreciate your attitude, though I still hope to instead become a good example of a feminist and change minds that way. Mostly failed today, apparently, but in a real-world conversation we'd get a lot more done without all the shit-throwing that happens online.

Point taken. I still disagree because I know this filmmaker aims to expose media influence and that her use of "toxic masculinity" is not to blame all men but rather the culture that instructs them to act as toxic males. But I appreciate you not insulting me.

Look, I get now that you guys disagree. But comparing me to the KKK is really insulting and upsetting. I hope you feel good about being an asshole, because your point is totally lost in all the dickery and only enforces the image of the MRM as a collection of belligerent idiots. That does not help your cause.

Jesus! I was being honest with my "trollery" trying to show the good side of feminism to those who hate it.... My mistake.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
