I don't know about mothers, but for children there is a very clear power dynamic outside of what's purely physical. That's why you can't have relationships with bosses and professors... It's prone to manipulation. I don't think any child physically defending themselves would be looked down upon by the law..

People may react poorly, but fearing a bad reaction is not the same as fearing for your life. Also, my point was that I could literally remove my body from that situation, not that I'd maim him. I have physical power in that situation and it's not nearly as threatening. I can't say as much for a guy on the street that approaches me.

I would and like I said, sexual assault against men shouldn't be regarded lightly. However, it's not the same situation when you're approached by someone who you have the power to crush. People with disabilities have a much higher rate of being victims of sexual assault than able-bodied people and while that doesn't mean they should be able to get away with sexual assault, it also doesn't mean that saying that able-bodied people should do extra to prevent their assault is hypocritical. They are …

This exactly. I don't think we should take sexual assault on men lightly, but this particular comparison of it is just dumb. I walk around with mace and have taken fighting courses so that I am in a better position to escape if a man assaults me. I'm 5'8",150lbs, and strength train so I could take many women, but even I have literally no chance against most guys. Taking the real danger most women face with men seriously and not having as much sympathy for a buff guy fending off drunk old ladies …

No matter his relationship status at the moment, he is telling what has led to the most satisfying experience for him. I don't think saying that LTRs are more or less satisfying is virtue signaling... it's all arbitrary and the preference of the individual. Very few people have only had one LTR and admitting to multiple LTRs doesn't mean you've failed, it just means your timelines didn't line up/you learned something.

Hahaha he was pretty dedicated in school and wasn't obnoxious and cocky like so many of the other guys that were in my classes. He ended up not having that extracurricular interest in learning that I'm looking for and would frequently pull all-nighters at the library with only a poptart for dinner. He was generally pretty sweet, but I was always worrying about his health and not able to connect about anything outside of school. Maybe, but also possible that there's shorter guys who like you, b…

Sure, when has that not been part of men's expected role? It's that or else faking it with stoicismish behavior. no, many of the guys I meet are definitely not up to par on emotional maturity and I don't think that was ever the general expectation. Swallowing your emotions until a big outburst is not a sign of maturity, just a sign that you can't deal with your emotions in a healthy way. Until that dominant guy shows up and all that goes out the window. Absolutely not. I have met plenty of "domi…

Not sure if you're asking why hypergamy is a bad thing Often I've seen it used in a very accusatory way on this sub so whenever I see it, it has a negative connotation. Additionally, when it's used to describe every woman's dating strategy, it makes it seem as though men don't also want to date out of their league or are never attracted to women who have impressive characteristics. Of the relationships that I've seen work (I understand that this is anecdotal), the people involved tend to have ve…

Yes, there some men who feel insecure with a taller woman, but it's their insecurity about themselves at work, not a lack of attraction to the woman. I can see what you're saying here. My point was only that the people who tend to approach me are of a certain height without me narrowing the pool at all. I also would argue that it is a factor for many guys, whether or not that factor is as important for men as it is for women. I've heard a bunch of my guy friends talking about wanting someone rea…

> Not "just" but yes, still being hypergamous regardless of the "just" so being hypergamous is finding someone who shares the same values to a greater extent than others? Why is that a bad thing? I have many female friends who aren't into the really buff guys because they don't value working out, themselves. They would like someone who would cuddle with them and watch their favorite netflix show rather than someone who eats clean and is looking for a climbing buddy. I'm personally looking for th…

Totally agree. I know this is going to sound like I just like an "alpha," but I'm looking for someone very much like myself. I am tall, into climbing and weight lifting, about to graduate in engineering, and personally value reading and other more mentally involved hobbies. I tend to find other people who have athletic hobbies (particularly ones that I can do with them), well rounded intelligence, and evidence that someone has thought about the world from multiple perspectives extremely attracti…

Any person in any gym who has any goals understands this completely. Any person in the life of a woman who now has to take care of a newborn on top of a household/work (depending on her situation) understands this. Generally a person's top priority after starting a family isn't being sexually attractive no matter how much they want it.

I think a lot of women want their pre-baby bodies back... It's not as simple as snapping your fingers and getting it though
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/20 08:22 PM

I don't think women are choosing to have babies while not married so much as they are choosing not to get married even if they get pregnant. It used to be the expectation for expecting parents to get married and I don't think that's the case much anymore.

It still seems as though the household chores and child rearing end up mostly on women's shoulders still. That's going to take several generations to change so should we not try to change it in the meantime? And on an individual level, men can make serious attempts at trying to connect with their friends emotionally. It's not easy, but it will probably help them in the long run. It's not that women don't want to be there, it's just that it's putting a big burden on someone when they're responsib…

Nah fam, I mean man-man relationships. I've never had issues where people felt as though they couldn't trust me. I'm a woman and the guy friends that I have say they like their female friends because they feel like they can open up when things bother them when they might be made fun of in their guy-only friend group. I've talked to plenty of guys who don't have quality female friends and generally they're the ones who think it's romantic to have an emotional connection and trust with information…

You could flip that and also say that most men marrying women expect them to do their laundry. The household labor dynamics are more complicated than just "one gender makes more money and thus they deserve to be an emotional leech." There is labor to be done outside of earning money. I agree not the only outlet, but woman should still emotionally support their man, because unless his friends are really amazing, (and most male friendships these days aren't ) she is the only person who cares about…

1) not all women want to be dependent on their partners financially 2) women often want an emotional connection, not to be a man's only outlet (hence the therapist comparison). It's generally unhealthy and harmful to the relationship when you have to completely rely on a partner for all of their emotional support

Sometimes you go to therapy because the way you're going about life is actively harming the people around you. An alcoholic doesn't just go to AA meetings because it's good for their body, it's also good for their family and community. If that's selfish of the person's family, is it bad? I also don't say this to compare you to an alcoholic other than in the instance of seeking outside help in dealing with your problems. Also it's not just men who need therapy 😜 I feel like everyone would be bett…

I think the problem they're trying to point out is that often men don't feel comfortable opening up to their friends emotionally so all of the pressure to listen an provide consolation lands on the women they end up in a relationship with. Talking to people about your problems can tax them, even if they want to be there for you (regardless of relationship). This reminds me of talking with a guy on a tinder date and him telling me that he found our conversation on philosophy and "deep stuff" was …

HAHAHAHAHA women dont have real muscle? 😂😂😂😂😂 Ok this is where I have to end this conversation. Both genders have the ability to build muscle. Have you stepped foot in a gym? I have a great hip to weight ratio and the gym has been key in that. When i was a bmi of 18, I was in cross country and looked toned and whatever. I also was pretty close to looking anorexic due to the low fat content and I had a very rectangular figure. I have a similar (more healthy) fat percentage now and a lot more musc…

That's a very broad statement that i feel like you can't back up. How many women have you seen and known their bmi? Are you just into starved looking girls and assume everyone agrees? I say this as someone with a bmi of 22. I look leaps and bounds better than when I had a bmi of 18 because I'm much more curvy. I do probably weigh more than I seem now because of muscle density, but I really looked like a stick back then. Bmi isn't a good indicator for things like muscle and fat content, nor fat d…

First of all, obesity isn't the only reason someone may or may not be ugly. I do kinda understand why you bring it up, though. However, what does more women being unattractive (according to your obesity stats) have anything to do with the issue of disparity between sex drives? I just want to point out, as someone really into health and fitness, bmi really isn't the best indicator, nor does it mean the same for men and women. If you look at body fat percentage that's healthy for men and women, it…

I get that partying isn't as much of a draw when you're older and you get lonelier when your friends settle down. However, you can seek out other opportunities to socialize. Last summer I made a bunch of friends in the area I was working with by going to swing dance every week. I've made friends at the gym and work, too. It takes more effort to put myself out there while working full time than it does making friends at school, but if you want to make friends, you can do it if you know what to lo…

I can see that happening, but at the same time I have also always been content to read and study, neither of which take much energy either. I was always the kid who holed up to reread that good book I picked up from the library. There's so much to learn that I literally cannot imagine it getting old. And what about businesses you can start and service you can do? I get that you have less energy when you're older, but you also get better and better at working with people. People often can't do al…

It’s not promiscuity and adventure and friendship Maybe it's the 22 in me speaking, but why can't it be? Why does it have to be loneliness? Maybe all of your good college friends settled down, but the world is changing and more people are going to relate to you if you chose a single life and look for companionship. I personally know I'm going to be single until I find someone trulyyy special and it's ok to me if I don't. It could be the fact that I have a strong support system around me that I b…

The other aspect to this is that what's sexy is always subjective. You say that if someone's dressing purposefully sexy, they are asking for it. However, your view on how they're trying to be perceived heavily rests on how you perceive them. For instance, I never thought me hanging around in running shorts (the loose type that's super common to wear for both girls and guys highschool cross country uniforms) was very non-sexual. I realized I was being sexualized for showing a good part of my thig…

If it's frustrating for the other person to decipher things, they should end the dance and be direct. If they're cool with the dance, they can continue. If both parties are mature, you can remain friends/go your separate ways with no hard feelings. I find the dance as a way to build desire. Not knowing exactly where you stand makes the little things a bit more exciting. Although if a guy reaches out directly, I respect that and the guys it took to do that. Not all dating needs to follow some for…

I don't know if educated women stay in because they'd lose more. Going through college matures people a ton and I think meeting so many people/being pushed to your limits with course work gives you a better idea of what you want in life. Additionally, women who have a career can leave more easily than not because they are financially independent. I've met plenty of guys who want to be able to have good conversation with their s/o so I'm not sure why education wouldn't matter. There still are peo…

You think that's the only life experience that matters? Maturity levels in a relationship are important because they can lead to power imbalances. Often 22 year olds aren't in the same point in life where they're fully developed adults so sometimes dating someone so much older can lead to abuse or stunted growth. That's not to say that's the case for every relationship, but it's less likely in a relationship with a smaller age gap.

I don't think this is extremely common, but I have kept my relationships on the down low at school when I knew the people around me would treat me different/bring it up. I find my relationships to be pretty personal and I don't want to discuss it with everyone so in the early months, I'll only tell a few close friends. I won't change a fb status unless I'm getting married probably because it's just not everyone's business. Why does my extended family need to know the ins and outs of my dating? I…

It hasn't. My ex cried when I broke up with him and all I wanted to do was make him feel better. I broke up with him because I didn't think we were going in the same direction in life, but I still loved and cared about him. Him crying only showed me how much he cared about the relationship and it made me sad that it had to end that way. I think guys should cry more. It feels good and sometimes helps to process grief. If you look at the stats, women raise their standards for ONS and men lower them. It does have to do with consequences. I don't think you get it. I just don't become physically attracted to people I don't know anything about. I think I'm on the ace spectrum and if you look into what a demisexual is, you'd get a better explanation of it. I just don't ever feel sexually attracted to someone who I'm not already friends with. However, I become physically attracted to people who I know whether or not…

I realize it's confusing, but it's hard to explain. Look into demisexual because it most describes how I feel about relationships. There's a lower bar for a relationship than one-night stand? You could say that and it would apply to most women because the consequences to a ONS are higher. However, I haven't yet met someone I would want to have a ONS with because no one would be attractive enough to me upon meeting them. Literally no one. People can be very physically attractive without me being …

I think that there's a difference between not finding someone physically attractive and not being immediately attracted to them. There are people who no matter what emotional connection I have with them, I wouldn't be interested in. However, I will be physically attracted to someone once a little bit of that has developed if they're my type. I just don't think anyone's attractive enough to make me attracted to them on physicality alone. I don't think anyone I've ever dated was not attractive. I …

I don't think they'd be my SO because the point of a relationship like that is to be both attracted to your personality and physicality. I don't date people I'm only emotionally attracted to (though sometimes emotional closeness leads me to BE more physically attracted to someone I wouldn't have otherwise) so I would seriously doubt it if they said they weren't physically attracted. Why would they pursue a relationship beyond friendship if that were the case? This is coming from someone who does…

At the same time, men who don't want children shouldn't have to stick around if women get the choice on whether or not to have the kid in the first place. I don't think it's necessary healthy for all men to stick around, but it might give them more incentive to use protection.

I'm still very confused about the differentiation you're trying to make here. You think it's alright for men not to have the same barriers for getting sterilized? Because people wanting to be sterilized is new?

First of all, women make up about 50% of the population and a great minority want to get their tubes tied so I don't think that's a good argument. Secondly, women are not inherently irrational. What makes you say that? Childbirth and bearing typically has a far greater impact on women than it does on men so it would seem particularly rational from the standpoint of an individual to get the procedure done if they're sure they don't want children. It's possible for a man to get someone pregnant an…

That's actually super interesting. Do you think women would be interested in that and sign up? I'd imagine it would be less mentally strenuous for women to sift through matches if that influences men to swipe right less. However, there definitely is an ego boost for women on dating apps so if it provides less attention, less women who aren't super serious about dating will sign up. I feel like the user base wouldn't be able to maintain the app, but they'd probably be more serious.

I can understand that, but sometimes it goes on for far too long. Like a couple messages of me responding with one word answers is generally my signal to stop if I really care about being rude. I generally don't like having super lopsided conversations irl or through text. On the flip side, the girl could be doing the same thing and asking you questions/trying to engage you in some way to show interest. The thing that makes me interested in someone is their personality, though. I am almost never attracted to someone enough to ignore parts of their personality so if they don't show me their personality over text, I'm not interested. Even on dating apps, the people I end up going on dates on are the ones I find interesting and don't expect to be awkward in person. This view of texting of course excludes people I meet irl because it's easier to dismiss bad texting if you know you have chemistry in…

It happens fairly often on online dating. When that happens, I just stop talking to them. It shows disinterest and I'd rather be having a good conversation with my friends and not feel like I'm bothering a stranger. That's honestly the prob with online dating because unless you have a great starter convo, it often feels like you're bothering the person if they're clearly not putting in the same effort. Typically when I meet people irl, the convos tend to be better in person and over text.

I think it's closer to option 3. I (a woman) certainly think most of my female friends are of above average attractiveness, but I think that's because I'm not trying to date them so I don't look at them through that lens. When I look at a friend regardless of gender, I tend to look for all of their good features. I can ignore a few bad features because commitment levels in friendship are a bit more fluid. "Women are passing over all those good looking man whores for lovable losers." The population of men isn't a binary set of whores and losers. I'm a woman and I do kinda care because health is pretty important to me. If a guy is weaker than me, it indicates to me that he neither exercises nor has a good first bc testosterone is insanely powerful. Before I was back into fitness, my bf was slightly shorter than me, super skinny, and notably weaker. That's a lot of words to say "sex is the only way someone can show me they love me" People change and sometimes people change behavior in ways that have nothing to do with other people. Sex is not all about you because you're not the only one participating. Whether or not you're sexually compatible matters, but whether a woman chooses to wait or not doesn't always depend on you.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/20 10:31 PM

But where does that leave women who don't have sex before they marry? The ones y'all say you value so much? If you're not willing to wait, who TF do you think you're going to end up with? That's the point of this post
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/20 10:27 PM

I'd be ok with that if it made sense in context. Sometimes people change strategies and if it's clear that that doesn't mean he cares less, it's ok. I've been in situations where I was more financially stable and ones where I was not so that determined how I socialize. I wouldn't expect less of a guy. Also, dates are more about the emotional connection you garner instead of the money spent. If that's accomplished, it's successful. With that, I would expect guys to respect a girl who became sexua…

So your response to women having sexual power is to call them sluts? I'm not understanding what your proposed solution is apart from devaluing women who want sex. In relation to this post, I don't think it's productive for anyone to look at a woman's n count and judge them from a different lens in which they'd judge themselves. You're going to narrow the women you consider and get frustrated when none of them want you for the same reason you didn't want the high n count women. I also disagree th…

To get this straight, you think women will be in monogamist relationships with only Chads for a year or two at a time without the expectation that they're being monogamist as well? You're saying that somehow women are managing to hold a relationship for a year or two with a dude and somehow despite the one to one ratio of genders in this monogamist partnership, women are still partaking in this type of relationship more than men. So after this relationship, the woman is of lower value now and th…

Then say just that. You are unwilling to commit to a particular type of person, not that those people are bad in some way. By calling them sluts and saying they ride the cock carousel is saying that you think there's something inherently wrong with how some women are behaving. So are you a virgin? You only see value in virginity so are you a high value man?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 02:17 AM

Then who is having sex with women if not men? How could you hold that belief and also believe you should be allowed a high n count? You can't have your Calle and eat it, too

So what you have an issue with normal dating? I don't understand RP people trying to degrade women for having sex but also getting mad that men don't get enough sex. So now we're demonizing the women who are in the middle, having a relationship every year or two, for something you wouldn't blink twice about if a man did? I've heard people use the term "a real woman" to describe women that make men feel like men or somehow follow gender norms whereas I've generally heard people use the "real man" to differentiate between a man and boy in terms of maturity and respect for women. I do agree that often society shuts down men who aren't the version of masculinity that we've always pushed onto people and that's gotta change. I don't think I need a partner to feel fulfilled in the long-term while some of the people on this thread sound like they can't manage a year without going insane. I think that points to a lack of closeness found in relationships that don't include sex for them.

As a woman who didn't have a relationship until 20 and hasn't had once since, I disagree. I haven't had any bad experiences, I just find it more important to focus on my platonic relationships. I feel sexual desire just as much as anyone else and I guess you could say I could come by sex fairly easily, but I am completely ambivalent towards getting people to be intimate with me. I'm sure some women feel lonely if they can't find a partner, but I've met a lot fewer desperate women than I have men…

I agree with your definition and it seems as though you're a creep by that definition when you impose your unwanted opinions on someone here. This whole conversation started because you called me (or the original commenter... It wasn't clear) ugly. People come here to debate certain ideologies, not to have a stranger spout judgements on them that are completely irrelevant to the conversation. In that way, you're stepping out of line given the context. Not sure how you picked up that I was a left…

How does that have anything to do with only calling people names and only adding comments that incite anger instead of productive conversation? It's good that you're doing well for yourself, but happy, secure people don't go online and call others names for the fun of it. Facing negativity doesn't mean you should put more out into the world just because you can. That's an extremely immature argument to make imo

Do you not think this happens in red pill? Do men not flock to that ideology solely to be told how they can have more sex? I'd argue they aren't leftist creeps, albeit often creepy

Free speech doesn't mean you're obligated to speak. You also did not answer my question and I suspect it's because you know you're only adding more negativity to the internet and driving a wedge between people who think differently. You are still responsible for what you put out into the world and the right to free speech doesn't excuse you from that
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/20 12:25 AM

Do you truly think you're accomplishing that by calling people names and not giving any reasoning?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/20 12:23 AM

Then why do you respond? You are just adding to the culture that made you not want to discuss topics... On a discussion thread

"leftist creep" also seems to be one of your favs. Couldn't forget that after seeing it so many times in your comments. What exactly are you accomplishing?

Just out of curiosity, do you get off by going around and provoking people so that you can patronize them with comments like this? It seems to me that you need to feel superior by saying that everyone that disagrees with you is subject to groupthink and then follow up with comments calling them "hun" or other pet names like this. It's just a pattern I saw in your comments when I checked out your page. You don't seem to be contributing to any of the conversations you're interjecting in, just bein…

I'm not adding to this conversation, but I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your thread. I wouldn't have the patience to go through this whole discussion

And what does that mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/20 08:19 PM

I disagree. So many women are constantly on a diet, doing cardio, and doing other things that improve themselves. These women aren't interested in dating a loser who isn't on her level

Other than not being represented in a positive light, can you articulate what nuance you're claiming trp has? Bc I really don't see it
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/20 05:50 AM

So... How do you suppose TRP should be represented?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/20 08:01 AM

Do you mean out of line as in violating the terms of your relationship (i.e. cheating) or as in doing something you dislike? Bc the latter is abusive bs and you don't really love her if you are in a LTR and will find it easy to replace your partner.

It doesn't. Not everyone wants to have casual sex and even though I could fuck a hot dude whenever I feel like it, it doesn't change the fact that I want to have a good relationship and something that's going to last.

Even if Mark Wahlberg isn't the "best" actor, he's still an icon and more talented than I am 😂 I can understand people seeing that and being attracted. Successful people are just attractive because they've shown commitment and competence... HOT I could just be in a special group of women, but I definitely know more women than not who would rather be emotionally connected to their partner than have a super physically attractive person. Sometimes these conversations frustrate me because it seems a…

I don't think less attractive guys being better at sex is an exception to the rule. I've heard countless stories of guys who are hot that aren't worried about a woman's pleasure when they have sex with them. A woman's unlikely to keep fucking you unless they're super attracted to you or they actually have fun when they get intimate with you. That's not to say an unattractive dude who hasn't had sex ever will be better naturally, but that's just as common as the non-tens who are good at sex. Ther…

I'm seen as just one of the dudes for most of the guys I meet. I'm fine because I have other decent qualities and meet plenty of guys in my major/professionally, but I don't rely on my looks making or breaking my chances with someone. I tend to try to see if they're decent people before I even consider doing anything physical with them. Mark Wahlberg has a chance with so many women because he's fucking Mark Wahlberg. Forget his height and go watch one of his movies. People are attracted to thing…

I'm a woman and I don't like your comparison of these dudes who can't take any personal responsibility for their lack of attractiveness to women, but I do agree with everything else you've said. I'm not looking for a physical 10. Often the less physically attractive dudes are better at sex and are more interesting people. If a guy can't score a ltr, they must fucking suck or have standards set enormously high. That's not a woman's fault.

I don't completely dismiss short men for being bitter, but it's the same as being unattractive in some other way. You do not deserve casual sex from anyone and if you are unable to find a serious relationship, that's often due to other reasons. There are other things that make a person physically unattractive so why is THIS the thing that makes so many men upset? Why am I happy being taller than the average girl and therefore not pursued by many guys, but I'm supposed to feel bad for a shorter g…

I'm so glad you articulated this. I'm a woman and I totally agree. People need to stop being so shallow whilst expecting people to overcome their own shallowness to fuck them.

But attraction isn't exactly rational so I can't put down other women for being attracted to a particular kind of person. It's up to them to define their standards and if they prefer to have a more difficult time finding someone, that's their prerogative. Btw a taller guy IS more lucrative... Like if you believe a woman's instinct is to find someone who can take care of her and her family comfortably, taller people DO tend to make more money and have other physical advantages. It's not just an i…

I agree those are ltr qualities, but I disagree that no attractive secular women have those qualities. I'd imagine you need to be a 10/10 to get out of having those qualities entirely, but that would apply to both men and women in that case. If you're normally attractive, you need those qualities to function and you probably just haven't met enough secular women to realize that

I filter by 5'10" and above, but I did date a guy that was 5'7" and we broke up for entirely different reasons. I don't understand why people filter for a height enormously larger than themselves, but that's coming from someone who is a tall 5'8" (I'm 5'8" on the dot, but I tend to seem taller than other people that height because they either lie about their height or have poor posture) and doesn't normally meet people who are THAT much taller. I'm also pretty athletic so I prefer someone that I…
