I still dont see your point. what your definition of success? This guy is worth at least 1 billion dollars with 3 corporate bankruptcies, in which he played the system so his personal wealth didn't get touched during asset forfeiture. You may think he is stupid but they fact that he had investors invest few billion dollar on his idea without having to leverage much of his wealth is fucking genius. personally, I think this is not good for reddit openness which brought me here , but monetarily this is great for reddit. Even with so much traffic, advertisers will never come to reddit with these subs intact. Reddit will do everything for its survival and attract advertisers that can keep the site growing and making the owners rich. Freedom of expression is a farse. Money talks.

On the other hand, if you are making good money , you should use it to your advantage. As someone who makes 6 figures , I am actually constantly bring it up my money making skills during conversations to get their attention and trust me, it works.
