Talk to the type of people you're writing about and get their perspective. Don't listen to the people who have a complaint about anything you do, no matter what you do. Write the book you want to write and do the good you wish to do with your best intentions. Someone is always going to bitch about something and I say just let them.

I understand why feminism was started, it's valid. But it's been so skewed by shitty women now that it's not really feminism anymore, it's just straight up man hating. Like everyone knows there are shitty men out there just as there are shitty women but the focus is so heavy on shitty men that it overshadows everything else.

So feminism is about equality between the sexes but it's not really equal when men are criticized for also trying to receive the same things women are wanting. Men's mental health is a good example. So if we truly want things to be equal then we need to include men in the conversation.

As a trans man, it's a trip experiencing both sides of the gender spectrum. I'm considered "passing" (if you don't know what that means, it means people can't generally tell that I'm even trans). It's a big problem for FTM men even in the LGBTQ community because once you're seen as a man, even people in the community turn on you and treat you differently. I've always been a feminist but my views have changed since I've transitioned. It's sad to see how shitty men are treated and the pedestal we'…
