Thanks for the reply and reading between the lines. I haven't considered an MEng, I will definitely look into that. As I said before it does feel a little intimidating but honestly I could do it.

Thanks for the reply, I am slightly discouraged from applying online since I've applied loads and hardly even received an automated email back lol. My city is based purely on oil (and farming I suppose) and currently things are not healthy. Plus I would like to get out of oil, the ups and downs are tiresome.

Thanks for the reply. My degree is pretty specific and could dox me, but I worked as a mechanical engineer. I'm also Canadian so we don't have a FE exam, you get EIT status just by having a qualifying position and applying for it (most jobs just state EIT eligibility as a requirement, which I am).

I love how predictable the haters are, exact same style reply as my previous post. Zero analysis or retort just a stupid question aimed as a personal attack. To quote "how to get laid like a warlord": "Then she starts laughing. And then we have sex."

Bro I love social media. Such a great way to display your awesome life while simultaneously giving girls a way to interact with you in a rejection-free environment. I think you have the essence of it, pics that show you doing cool stuff, looking cool, or with a good group! If you'll allow me to ramble, personally I love snapchat. I like to do a nice pic once every couple of days or so to the girls I'm currently wheeling and a hilarious or cool video to my story pretty often. As I mentioned previ…

I appreciate your vulnerability and honesty. It's definitely true that rejection hurts even if we don't show it. You've invested in this girl (not much obviously but some) and when she acts retarded it sucks, definitely not getting a return on your investment.

I'll respond to this criticism despite its tone. First off, do you have better things to do? I honestly question what you consider to be a good investment of time if so, especially when the time investment is so minimal compared to the return. The payoff of raised social value is so delicious. It's like having groupies as a band but it's just your regular (super fun) life that you lead (right?). I haven't even highlighted some of the intricacies and additional benefits of SM. Just interacting a …

On one hand, you're completely right, a girl WILL check your profile and assess you (as mentioned, ruthlessly). However SM is THE tool of our time and there's no better time than now to start. Couple of tips for you: YouTube "squinch", it's a way to significantly improve how photogenic you are Keep little "skit" ideas with you, like: Shotgunning a chocolate milk after your gym pump Lip syncing a NYNC song (quick though, take the best part of the song, max 10 second video) Rollerblade behind your…

While I 100% agree with your assessment of women and social media, the common TRP trope of being the "stoic, anti-tech" masculine man is IMO misguided. Social media allows women to act first towards you in a rejection-free environment. What I mean is, when I post a hilarious little clip of me being awesome, girls can like, comment, private message me, "react" etc...all without the chance of being rejected. So, gentleman, make sure that smile is pearly white, practice not feeling awkward in front…

What I'm interpreting is, she's flexing a bit against the "routine", why? Who knows maybe she's bored, maybe she wants more from you whatever it shouldn't matter. I would just say something low key (we have too much fun) then lay off communication for awhile. Don't even bring up the occasion and preferably plan something else unless she brings it up. You're just continuing living your awesome life, filling up the that free slot with something better. My 2 cents.

/r/askTRP29/04/19 04:24 AM

Two lines of thought imo: Consider the reaction you want and tailor your wording towards that goal, this works well for Tinder (you want to elicit some sexual tension ASAP) Get into social "flow", this is sort of a phenomenon I've noticed as an ex-server, with a little warming up I get smoother and smoother. Both of these methods require practice but it does all start with mindfully noticing and enacting a change.

Thanks for chiming in Vasiliy, this is a nuanced question that I think we can all identify with. Personally I've been on both ends and it weighed on me when I was being vulture-like...the thirst is real.

Agree with all your points. Don't love all of your fits in the album but most are great! For the ultra simple getting started guide: Black jeans White sneaks (stan Smith's, Converse all whites, any other tennis shoe) Well fitted basic tee (no graphics, patterns can work, blank almost always good) Honestly my black Levi's from Walmart are my go-tos currently!

The only degree worth anything these days is computer science/software engineering. Coming from a recently gradded mechanical engineer, a large portion of my grad class aren’t even working as engineers because although the economy is good, it’s very competitive and you need an edge. CompSci gets you a job with minimal “battling”. Good luck!

I think guys on here can get kinda mean. What’s important to remember regardless of outcome is to remain stoic. She’s not feeling it anymore? Hey that’s fine we had some good times, bye. Tbh you seem pretty weak if that’s considered a neg. lol I’d probably pick on you. You should reread “How to get laid like a warlord”, applicable advice to your interactions with dudes as well. I enjoyed your post, I followed the line of thinking. There’s this weird duality in nature where people aren’t necessarily bad (read: selfish) yet they aren’t always good...I don’t buy the view that people only help others if it’s in their own best interests yet it’s easily observable, as you mentioned, that people behave selfishly. And I agree it can all feel futile at some points.

IMO giving girls “the talk” is not helpful, might stop the bleeding temporarily but this is deep seeded behaviour. You’ll have to decide if this is a deal-breaker or not, personal opinion is that respect is fundamental and nonnegotiable. Gl.

I use Anki to make flash cards. The program tests you and then decides when to show you the card again. Personally I find it a great litmus test. As in, I don’t really want to be friends with anyone who can’t at least recognize some truth of TRP. I’ve sent a couple friends the “Get laid like a warlord” post.

I’ve moved around which artificially forces you to change friend groups (moved for uni a couple times) and although you definitely have a bond with your old boys, new friends that are on the same level as you in terms of bettering themselves are better to surround yourself with in terms of personal growth.

Every single one of these posts that starts into some story about a single chick are just a write off. You couldn’t be less “alpha” caring so much about what one person (girl or not) thinks about you. Honestly pretty pathetic you even wrote this much.

The nuclear family is best I agree however I’m taking it even further and homeschooling my kids and will do my best to move into a consulting or other work from home lifestyle to be around to raise my kids as much as possible. I personally was homeschooled and went to public school so I can attest to the benefits of 1 on 1 teaching (and still had plenty of social outlets, it’s on the parents to make it happen).

Consider indoor rock climbing, we have a bro group that goes 3 times a week now and it’s great; you get the benefit of climbing (fun, fitness) with socializing (rest time between runs). Even just bouldering some routes is great and it’s easy to bond with whoever’s there over the common experience.

Caught between extreme extroversion and introversion (cyclical), I can’t help but feel you attract women who are near your overall level of self-hatred (maybe not the right word). When I’m struggling to maintain my visions of success (been in the grind of going to uni with not much cash), the quality of women I attract drops. Maybe I’m falsely correlating but the biggest shared trait between my last two gfs was a deep seeded self-sabotaging nature that would poke out periodically. When I compare…

Hey man your story resonated with me deeply. I too have been plagued with bad habits (weed mainly) and it did take a complete change of environment to “snap me out of it”...however I have come to the same conclusion as you (if I understand correctly), the environment change can help you see the problems but only you (and God, personal choice) can make any lasting change. Although your story sounds like a “happy” ending, I can hear the touch of cynicism and can also identify with that. Good luck …

I think it’s a balancing act, I allow myself to be emotionally vulnerable but only to a very select few (brother, childhood friend that’s it pretty much). Woah I had no idea about the currency ban. I'll read up on it and see what my foreign exchange friends think. That's actually insanity though, and there aren't any ready replacements (ie bitcoin).

I like the dog one in the first link, because you didn't take the photo (at least not obviously). You look like a loner though with all those selfies and no friends and no pics of you doing stuff.

Just tried your workout, wow it was hard, especially coming from strength training with 2-3 min rests. I did 1 - 1:30 min rests between sets for your plan. Got a second wind after the chest work!

Very true, if we want to look more into the "conspiracy theory", it could be said that the feminist push for women's rights was funded to create another taxable individual in the family unit. And now we have another source of income from the family in the highly medicated "ADHD" child/ren.

Right but he was asking for a definition of RP view on women, which in your post would be "women love children" which I completely agree with. Personal note, my sister was unhappy and trying to squeeze the most out of this life (traveling, went to the rural north for school to help natives, always doing fun stuff, like, always) but when she had her first child (she now has her second) she totally changed. It was amazing, we actually get along now and I enjoy talking to her...fulfilling her true …

Hey man I just bought a 1976 Toyota Chinook to live in for a year for my last year of college...any tips you can give me? Did you winterize your vehicle? Whats the coldest temperature you were able to live in? (Winters are like avg -20C where im going...plan to use propane furnace). Did you spend a lot of time in your vehicle or not? Any other thoughts you have I'd appreciate!

I'm also interested, 30,000/12 = 2500/month so I'm guessing he bought a duplex or something, and if we take the 68 000 as 20% that's a 340 000 house/duplex, nice value!!!

Hey legendary great post, seems like I agree with almost everything you post on TRP. Question for you that comes from personal experience: How do you deal with addictive behaviour that seems to constantly undermine your ability to keep your survival/low level needs met? Personally, I can't seem to shake league of legends (sounds stupid I know) but even when I cold turkey it for months it seems I can still be sucked in easily. Now that I write it out it probably seems like I should just cut it ou…

Haven't used Anki for TRP specifically but it saved my bacon in a couple classes, specifically organic chem! Even if I'd fall out of rhythm, using it for a couple days before an exam really assisted the cramming.

Especially since owning guns is becoming increasingly difficult in Canada (aka disarm the general public). Reminds me of how recently there was some flooding near me and the cops instantly went around taking everyones guns...they stated it was to prevent criminals from stealing them but it was so instantaneous it was unnerving.

A comment on your "assumptions", state your question as a statement, not as a question: "Are you going shopping?" = yes/no answer aka boring; "You're going shopping" = "no I'm going somewhere else blah blah blah" or "ya I'm buying shoes" etc... Notice that OP did this in his example. Tldr; Avoid yes/no questions

Hey looking for some advice or a business mentor, this seemed like a good post to comment on. I want to start a tent-based parking lot business this summer, not sure exactly where to start. Do I need to register as a business? Will I need permits? What is the best approach for renting a couple parking spots from Walmart? Also I want to hire a girl to run it for me (girls draw more business), should I pay under the table or what steps do I take to hire someone? Maybe as a contract employee? If an…
