Got married at 18 and 19. Been married for almost 6 years now and have not once regretted it. The only comments I ever got were from people who had been divorced and were known for being selfish.

I'm going to school for makeup artistry now and the best thing I can tell you is to watch and study Lisa Eldridge on youtube. Now, normally I advise against copying youtube gurus or Instagram "artists", but she has an amazing credentials sheet and youtube isn't her main game. Her looks are so feminine and beautiful. Even her more dramatic looks still leave way to look like yourself. Which is the problem with a lot of Internet gurus. You want to focus on a no makeup look at first. Once you have t…

I have a friend like this. Lives across the country. Comes to visit once a year or so. I'm excited to see her until I'm with her because of her attitude and negativity. I fixed it by replying one day, "I just love hearing you gripe all day about everything. Can you please continue doing that for me? It just makes my day to hear so much whining all the time." Granted, I shouldn't have bottled it up until it exploded like that and being sarcastic and childish about it was wrong. If I could have a …

Yes! Like, honestly, even if all you do is wash everything on cold and never separate anything, at least do THAT.

My 2 year old knows how to load and work the dishwasher and regularly helps me with chores around the house. Kids are SO much more capable than society makes them out to be. I've instilled strict manners and a sense of generosity in her, while also including her in my daily makeup and face cleansing routines. She LOVES it. She loves everything feminine and she loves learning how to do all the maintenance of a home. Mainly, I make sure she knows how to "earn her keep" for a lack of better wording…

No clue. It is literally me waking up in the morning and it's a sudden desire out of nowhere lol.

I was vehemently anti child. Then I just woke up one day and thought, "it's time". 3 months later we conceived and now I want another, after being vehemently anti multiple children for 2 years. Again, it was like a switch flipped. Complete 180 out of nowhere. My brain likes to make life interesting.

We both enjoy video games and comedy. Our taste in comedy can be quite different, but it's the fact that we both put laughter high on the priority list that matters. :)

I totally agree. I'm fine with being blunt and firm in everyday life. It's turning it off when I get home that I need to work on. :)

We have been struggling with supporting my choice to attend makeup artistry school financially. Today, he surprised me by canceling his pay by month game accounts and redid our whole budget to enroll me. :) He is truly the best man in the whole world. My first paycheck will go toward reinstating his games and buying him even more. :)

I want to be more kind and positive. I am working on the balance between setting boundaries with people who tend to ask more than I can give without sacrificing time with my family, and being kind and compassionate otherwise. Over time, with our immersion in volunteering and church work, people have a tendency to eat up every ounce of our time with their needs. We have had to start being very blunt with letting people know we aren't superhuman. It's been effective, but it's hard to get out of th…

Toaster and Toastly. It started when he sat up in bed one night, still alseep, and said to me, "Did you know I used to be a toaster?" It's evolved into a cutesy thing. Lots of "I love you Toaster/Toastly"

What helped us was to set a schedule for who would wake with baby at night. It was something like from 8-1, I would get up with her when she cries and from 1-6 hubs would. That's at least one solid 5 hour block of sleep a night. Combined with every opportunity I could snag to sleep when she slept, I usually got around 7-8 hours in one 24 hour period. Just so you know, you're not alone in the grumpy sleepy club. I felt like you were secretly talking about me in your post lol! Even now, when my da…

I'm the opposite. I can bake without any guidance, but I tend to need a cookbook or Pinterest page up for stove top cooking- just for reference. Homemade bread sounds amazing! That's something I haven't tried yet. Do you have a recipe you use?

He mainly leaves it up to me. Ever since the Great Pickle Juice In The Pasta incident of '09, he's sworn off creative cooking, lol! But, he can grill and cook a mean cabbage. :)

I'm a shameless Wattpad junkie, so as long as I have my phone, I have books. But there's nothing like the feeling of reading a physical copy. Mmm-hmm.

That's an intelligent way to go about learning to cook. Taking in the modifications from other, more experienced cooks is a great way to learn as you go. :)

Experimenting is the best part. I do find it disappointing when I make something that blows our socks off, but I forget to write down how I made it. Hubsmeister will ask for it a few weeks later and I just kinda hang my head in frustration. I need to put an index card box by the stove for times like that.

Exactly. It's like a creative outlet to make something without any real guidelines. And the results are so yummy.

Do you ever find yourself using one ingredient in every dish for a week or so? I'll go through mushroom or gravy or taco kicks, and every meal will have it incorporated some way. The hubsmeister loves it. :)

I'm so glad to hear from someone who has experienced the issue and found a solution. I'll be on the lookout for more mature clothing like you described. Thank you so much for offering your advice.

You're right. I can certainly work on carrying myself better. A lot of it comes from having to be so energetic and be so into the younger things since our job is to connect with and counsel the youth. Looks like I need to make a boundary line that gives me a better balance.

Gosh, I really don't know if there's a certain place or anything to meet young looking women. We met in high school, so that kinda nixes any reliable advice from me on that front. We don't exactly "assemble", heh. But, my best guess would be to find a place where you know the age bracket and go from there. You can bet that if you find a group of people who meet over common interests on weekdays between 9-4 that everyone will be legal. Find a group that meets that's "adults only". I'm sorry I cou…

Lol thank you. I've never had complaints. But at the same time, I'm always very self conscience about how it affects people's first impression of him. He looks about 30 and is just this huge behemoth of a guy and I am hundred pounds after a couple cheeseburgers. All in all, I just don't want my appearance to ever hold him back in something. He deserves the best. :)

I haven't carried a purse in almost 3 years now. What do I even put in one? Whatever the case, that one looks a thousand times more grown up than my little canvas thing stuffed under one of the seats in the car.

My bob is of the longer variety. It starts at the nape of my neck in the back and is a little past my collarbone in the front. It frames my face nicely but I'm eager for it to get a bit longer and still maintain that shape. It started out halfway down my back, but my hair and I have this really spontaneous relationship where I find a pretty picture and don't give second thoughts before having my hair stylist copy it, lol. Keeps things interesting. I'm glad to hear I can still dress up my everyda…

Ooooh, I see now. Those are cute, too. I don't see them exclusively on teens, but I see them on teens more because I'm around teens more. If that made a lick of sense, ha. They look like this. http://jtomson.com/awtstsl01-womens-stylish-sleeveless-button-down-blouse.html I apologize for the goofy formatting. My phone and I don't always agree.

I gasped out loud when you said embellished tops. Why hasn't that occurred to me before? Light bulb moment! I almost never wear shorts outside the house, but what are chino shorts? Thank you so much for all your detailed input. Things are starting to click now. One question. Those sheer sleeveless button up tops that are in style right now... Are they just a teen friendly thing or can they work for women too? I really think they're adorable, but I mainly see them on the girls in my youth group, …

Oh it does have its perks at times! I get a kick out of people's reactions when my behemoth of a toddler nearly stands at my boobs. I've gained serious abs and arm muscles just from hauling her around.

I'm just generally very small, but my hair is cut short. I cut it into an a-line bob thinking it would help me appear older. That may have backfired on me. I have a lower pitched voice, thank goodness. The last thing I need is to sound like a chipmunk, ha. But, I do work with a ton of teens all the time. Maybe some kind of demeanor they have is rubbing off on me and making me appear younger. I don't wear flip flops but I do tend to gravitate toward jeans and t shirts since I'm always chasing my …

I'm a newcomer here, and I do agree 100000% with this advice. I do have a question though. I noticed a ton of comments on the article stating the Christian faith promotes child first mentality. Maybe it's my area or church, but every Christian, pastor, and church I've ever attended expressed the importance of putting the marriage first. This spanned several denominations. The Bible even says to put the marriage first (after God). Where are these Christian teachers who stress the child first ment…
