Yeah, when I take that less is more approach and distance myself that's when she starts reaching out and getting flirty, sending pics, etc... Right place right time we'd hook up again I'm sure but I'm not trying to follow around like a pet for some crumbs. I've tuned out all together and if she reaches out I'm just going to let her know we're cool but I'm not interested in hanging platonically. Thanks man

Gone with the wind. I do get that in some way. I clearly was sprung for her a bit more than I'd like to admit if I'm here writing this. I'd love to just not see her again to clear my head. Knowing that I'll still see her around is what has me hesitant to do that. In saying something I feel like I will have purged what I had to and gave a line in the sand. That's probably blue pilled, but I don't love the idea of seeing this person and playing a part like I don't know who they are or have no opin…

just a simple statement that she's allowed to want to go platonic, and you aren't butt hurt about it but you are also allowed to decline, and you'll see her around with the group Yeah I was a little heated when I wrote this lol, but this is sort of what I was getting at. The arrangement she has in her head doesn't work for me. She knows that, but in stating it plainly it removes any guessing games and when she inevitably reaches out or leads on again, I will have already said my piece and won't …

Best is to just play it cool as if she's missing out on you. Important to not act but hurt and do what you want. This is what I do, then without fail she messages me a week or 2 later. If you feel too awkward ghosting the girl and want to be a gentlemen go with the classic: More than anything I'm just over the cycle. I like the idea of calling things out for what they are, explaining that it doesn't work for me, and suggesting we move on as adults. Pretty much from there never start any interact…

Retard. little boy. Nice roasts mate... who is having their first day at school? Anyway, being red pilled isn't reading a sidebar or following some internet rules like the fucking bible - not to me at least. Outside of this bubble situations have context, and for me it was fun to have a spontaneous chat about RP (obviously didn't call it that or bring up online shit) with a girl who I used to date, occasionally hookup with, and is a genuine friend who I couldn't care less about maintaining fra…

Lol. You know females are real human beings that you can talk to, right? Some of them are even pretty chill outside of being warm bodies to fuck...

TLDR; she agrees with everything, but thinks that women shouldn’t be blamed and shamed for it because men do it, too. Stealing that tldr

For me it was a girl I've been close with for a while but know I'll never be with again outside of casual hookups now and then so it was interesting to hear some perspective from the other team.

You're on a TRP subreddit trying to get laid as much as possible, why is it wrong when a girl does the same? Why the double-standad? Sure, this is a valid perspective - more than fair to hold that position for yourself. But this goes against quite a few RP "laws" which is the double standard I was pointing out. For example (from the sidebar): Low partner count This is talked about a lot, and for good reason. This number is never an absolute certainty, but you need to trust what seems like a trus…

In simplest terms, my personal belief is that a girl who's ONS/same day laying you has likely done that with many guys before. What are the odds you're anywhere near the first? The alternative is that your SMV is way higher - in that case why would you LTR anyway? Further, a girl who's ONS/same day laying/being plated would rack up a high n-count quickly. Even if it's rare - say 3x per year (pretty damn conservative) from 18-25. That brings you to 21 without counting boyfriends... Given the ab…

Just curious, do you subscribe to the RP idea that girls who have ridden the CC (i.e. girls with double digit n-counts) are unsuitable for LTR? Every girl is in that pool if your value is high enough. If so you would have to assume that the girl in question has only been approached by a handful of men with your SMV in her lifetime, less if she's been in relationships. That doesn't seem realistic to me.

For me the point was never avoiding hooking up with girls, not aggressively going after girls, not trying to same day close, etc. That's all great - my point was simply that these aren't the girls I would be considering for LTR, so in that sense the filter is fundamentally broken (for me). It's a filter that only catches chicks I wouldn't want to LTR to begin with. If literally AWALT, what's the point of even screening for LTR? Why have posts about slut tells like tattoos, piercings, online pr…

I think like a lot of things in life the answer lies somewhere between the extremes. There is certainly value to RP philosophy as a whole. I've taken in a lot of and apply many of the principles in day to day life. Things like valuing myself first, not overly concerning myself with the opinions of others, having an abundance mentality (there isn't "the one", there are many), being confident in myself and letting that confidence come out naturally through my actions, not overly investing myself…

Some lie higher up the spectrum (chicks who don’t fuck you but would fuck Chris brown) and some at the bottom ( the kinda chicks you fuck on a ONS). Agree with everything you said. But specific to this section - the kinda chicks you fuck on a ONS aren't the kinda chicks you want to LTR (for me at least).

It's also interesting to read posts (I believe even sidebar posts) which go into crazy detail about tells or signs that a girl is a slut (and thus not LTR material). The list gets as specific as tattoos, died hair, believing in horoscopes, being obsessed with instagram... I'm not even disagreeing with any of those, it's just a funny considering a girl literally fucking you the first time you meet her, something any average Joe would see and identify as the sluttiest of behavior, isn't a "tell" o…

"In other words, unless U.S. men are having tons and tons of sex with women who are outside the survey population (trips to foreign countries? prostitutes who don't tend to show up in these surveys?) it's mathematically impossible for men to average more sexual partners than women [or vice versa]" https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/news-blog/men-average-more-sexual-partners-th/

If you start with AWALT (i.e. who cares about individual women, I'm just going to apply "game" and fuck whoever falls for it), obviously you're filtering for the very female type that you most dislike. I think it's totally fine to spin plates. But the guys who think they've "cracked the code" while selecting for the sluttiest of chicks available are totally deluded. Yes, this is the point I was trying to get at, thanks for spelling it out succinctly.

The sooner you have sex with a girl, the more information you get about her sexual mores. If you wait forever, you can't tell whether she's really your magical unicorn, or you just had poor game / were her backup / friendzoned yourself. Agreed, I'm not discouraging trying to get same day lays. Just saying the pool who's available for that scenario is more often than not the same pool of girls who are unsuitable for LTR

If the logistics are good, especially if it’s a trip abroad and nobody will ever know, and your SMV is high enough she WILL put out Right, but you'd also never LTR someone who you met on a trip abroad, or who's SMV is that drastically below yours. Would you agree that someone available to you for ONS/plate has likely been there many times before? Taking that further, do you agree that girls with high n-counts (frequent FWB/plates aka CC) are unsuitable for LTR?
/r/askTRP11/03/19 01:38 PM

Every girl would be a ONS/Plate for the right guy. Every girl who's down with hooking up and hookup culture, a drunk bar fly, or is levels under you in SMV would ONS/Plate for the right guy. All of that is cool, and that doesn't say anything about their potential to be chill down to earth girls who make great plates or even FWB - but none of the above scenarios outline a girl I'd be down to LTR. Just speaking from real world anecdotal experience, I have tons of friends that go out and have fun…

ONS>Plate>FWB>LTR filter is the only correct one I find it interesting and a bit contradictory that according to TRP relationships should start with ONS or plate and progress from there, while at the same time women suitable for LTR have single digit n-counts. There's a lot of talk about unicorns around here, what would we call a girl who puts out for ONS/same day lays, yet somehow is single digit n-count, and would be faithful and not branch swing in the relationship - pegasus? My point being…

Full stack web dev is my world so I call everything an app by default, probably a bit confusing... I didn't mean a literal phone app (though that would be great if it's something you're passionate about or want to learn about). Playing off what the other poster said - figure out exactly what it is you want to be doing in the CS world, then start doing it. Not guided tutorials or anything (though that's fine to start), but jump off the deep end and start building.

Start building real world things. Pick literally any idea for an app and just start building it. Break stuff, figure out how to dissect your problems and work through them. Figure out when and how to ask for help. This is what your day to day work will be like, and simulating/having some experience with that is invaluable. Keep your grades up, crush the internships, make a github account and be active - contribute to projects wherever you can, show an actual passion by building your own shit. Yo…

This is much more in line with my personal set of beliefs and what’s worked for me in the past. There’s also a belief I see in browsing that guys shouldn’t have platonic friendships with girls. I disagree with that as well - some of my best friends are chicks and I’ve had a blast hanging out with them over the years, have hooked up sporadically, and most importantly from a trp perspective, have been introduced to and hooked up with a ton of girls through them over the years.

Which sort of rolls into my original point - is someone who meets that description a person you would want to LTR?

I see stated often that girls who are LTR material should have a reasonable n-count. 4-5 seems to be the sweet spot, but certainly single digits. I struggle with the idea that a 20 something chick who's hooking up with you on the spot hasn't done that in the past. Even if it was a rare thing, say once or twice a year - plus a boyfriend or two along the way... it adds up, no?

Oh, I thought that was sarcasm. I'm not even scared of who she is, I really think she has changed. A little at first: when she cut contact with the world for a month then reached out to me sounding so sad, remorseful, genuine... Then a little more when we hung out as friends for a month. She decided to get off all the meds she was prescribed during this time. She took a long weekend at work and was make shift detoxing in my spare room for 4 days. She was so bright and cheerful on the other side …

She was sounding much more logical and stable after she fell off the grid for a month, yes. Then we were talking as friends for a month - it was a night and day difference and shit just happened from there. It's been solid since then too which makes it a bit tougher. I get what everyone is saying - I think I'm just in the final stages of coming to terms with it all now.

I agree with the first point and agree that I'm hung up. My hang up (and I realize I'm coming across like a bitch for repeating this in all the comments) is that she has absolutely gotten better. I've noticed it, her friends and family, my family - everybody has picked up on that and I hear it often. Realistically it's too little too late after everything that happened between us - I get that now. I just want to make sure I'm moving on for the right reasons if that makes any sense.

See your point and agree, but it was more: Used to like this girl, back in town - see what she's up to, get with girl, it's not working at all she's a wreck, totally over whatever that was, tell my friends I don't care, next. She hits me up - not a wreck anymore, wow she's really solid again, get with girl, fall for girl, YOU DID WHAT, fuck... I totally care, never denied that - I'm just dealing with the fallout of everything now.

I actually didn't know she was a slut which is the shitty part. I mean by some standards I did, but personally I don't have a problem with girls who LTR and have a fling or two in between - For me that's just too commonplace now to have an issue with. That's where I thought she was at, particularly since what I last knew of her was being super conservative back in the day. Finding out about that weekend is what made me realize she wasn't LTR and a notch or two in between. She is LTR and totally …
