If it wasn't your intention then maybe have a think a bout why you decided to say these things. >it’s currently being accelerated by women only. >Any time they see something a man does that they don’t like they say “oH bUt tHeY cOmPlAiN aBoUT mAlE lOnELinESs ePiDeMiC”. >ONLY women bring up and INSIST WE bring it up MORE It sounds like you saw a video online that pissed you off and then you projected that on to all women.

This feels very terminally online. Nobody I know, men and women, thinks this way or is even aware of half the things you seem very angry about. I think you’ve been in a bit of a bubble. You’re using a lot of absolute and definitive language for things that are nowhere near ubiquitous.

It wasn’t women who branded it a male loneliness epidemic. That was a mra thing.

Tell him that. He followed me across multiple subreddits ranting at me.

It’s not mothers. It’s all of fucking society. And I haven’t actually met any of these mothers. In my experience as a childcare provider it was the mums wanting to nurture their sons emotional landscape and the dads not wanting their sons to become soft. The mother then fears retaliation from the father and wants to respect his wishes so tries to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/23 11:05 PM

And what’s dads role in all of this?

How are women accountable for the behaviour of men? You have agency. You’re the one who controls what you do, not us. If we had any control over the behaviour of men, the world would be a very different place.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/23 09:52 PM

He’s obviously triggered. He just came over to some comments I made several days ago to rant about the same stuff. Apparently he’ll work on himself when I criticise mothers for failing their sons.

How much sympathy should be extended to people who aren't willing to help themselves. You're hyperfixated on the plight of men with little regard for how they're impacting everyone else. Women have been saying it's a systemic failing for years. What do you think they're banging on about when they talkk about the patriachy and toxic masculinity? The problem is that men are hurting themselves and everyone else. Men have an incredible amount of empathy and support, they're just unable to recognise …

My guy. Stop with the woe is me. If women didn’t care about men and their issues, this sub wouldn’t exist. I wouldn’t be talking to you. The issue is that men don’t like that they’re expected to solve their own problems. It’s not surprising that women initiate divorce when men have low emotional intelligence and aren’t entering into relationships in good faith. It’s also not surprising that men don’t volunteer to leave arrangements that massively benefit them. It’s your job to fix yourself. No w…

They aren’t expecting no faults. But if you aren’t emotionally intelligent you don’t know how to be in a relationship and you aren’t willing to be taught because it’s incredibly triggering. It’s literally that simple.

Women are happy with cats and wine. It’s infinitely preferable to being a teacher/rehab Center to emotionally immature men. Women absolutely do nurture their partners grass, to the extent where our life expectancy actually drops when we get married. Nobody deserves a partner, least of all emotionally immature men who want their woman to be their new mommy and teach them how to be nice to people.

Someone should tell my LL exes lol. I’ve ended several relationships because the dudes don’t want to have sex more than once a week. Men want a variety of things, not just sex. An asexual person wouldn’t want to be married to someone that wants sex, that would be incredibly stressful. Women don’t just want to find a husband. They want a partner who enhances their life they can build a relationship with.

It doesn’t matter who’s grass is greenest. The point is you’re supposed to water your own grass. What do you think I mean when I say mental trap? Nobody deserves a partner. You earn it. I’m not acting like all women are emotionally intelligent, I’m talking about how men are socialised to actively avoid building that skill and women are punished socially if they don’t display it. Women shouldn’t have to teach emotionally unintelligent men how to play nice with others. Men are responsible for thei…

How is that relevent to the discussion? All you're doing is reinforcing that men don't enter into relationships in good faith and women are right to be cautious and have rigiourous screening. Relationships are just about access to sex for y'all.

All this is shows is that men need to stop being so shitty to women and deceiving them. Most women aren’t dating violent ex cons, that’s a vanishingly small minority.

You’re asking for data to prove a negative. You’d need to prove that people do abandon their support systems when they get sick.

I’m not posting off topic things at all. You said marriage provided security, the evidence suggests it doesn’t. People don’t generally initiate divorces and abandon their support systems when they get sick. Men aren’t entering into relationships in good faith.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/23 03:40 PM
1

No it doesn’t. 20% of men abandon their spouse when she’s diagnosed with cancer compared to 2.9% of women. Women don’t want men who feel obligated not to abandon them. They want partners who are all in.

The problem is that an awful lot of men are abusive.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/23 02:01 PM

How does that help when someone’s actively deceiving you? And men choose their partners too. Nobody is forcing them to date anyone. Men have agency and freedom.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/23 02:00 PM

Women do that too. The phrase you’re using is used so frequently by abused women that it’s a trope. Are you for real?

My guy. You are the one that specified CEO’s and politicians. I’m responding to you? What sort of power did you think I was referring to? Like, why be this pedantic? Nobody said it was a 1:1 ratio. That’s a non sequitur. Of course most people are having vanilla sex across the board, nobody suggested otherwise. Like, what even is this? This has nothing to do with what I said. You’re just making up things you think I could have said and then disagreeing with yourself.

You’ve ignored/missed my point. My response to this is the same as above. The buy in is not the same. Women don’t want to have children that aren’t 100% in. If you’re asking for a paternity test it shows that you’re not 100% in because you’re not trusting her completely. You can argue about it until the cows come home. Every mother I know would consider a partner asking for a paternity test a breach of trust for the reasons in my previous comments. It would make them question the foundations of …

Weed is best enjoyed with a close friend, out in nature. It makes you a bit light headed and silly, but that’ll make you incredibly anxious if you aren’t with people you can totally relax with. If you don’t have anyone to go with, try smoking 0.1g whilst on a walk or in a garden. I find walking helps because it gives you something to focus on and ground you.

Oh, we’re doing ableism now. Embarrassing for you that even someone “special” Has a firmer grasp on the scientific method than you do. If anyone wants context, this guy just blew his top demanding that I prove that scientists didn’t ask people “do you ignore all your friends” Like he genuinely couldn’t comprehend that survey design is more complex than that.

The single mothers I know thought they had partners when they got pregnant. That’s the whole trust thing I keep hanging on about. Women enter into relationships with good faith under the presumption that there’s mutual trust. Men are anticipating betrayal so they never trust completely and are more likely to be dishonest since they assume that’s what the other person is already doing.

No, you said it would be rare for men in positions of power to want to be subs and now your switching it to say only a small percentage of men have power at work. I’m just challenging your assumption and letting you know that it’s wrong. The more powerful someone is, the more likely they’re going to want to be submissive. You’re changing the discussion into something it isn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/23 03:47 AM

Why would you agree to have a child with someone you suspected might be a lying psycho? And I’m not going to dignify the rest with a response because you’re veering off into being shamefully disingenuous.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/23 03:41 AM

Depends on where you’re at and what your needs are. If you’re emotionally intelligent you should know which areas you haven’t stretched in a while.

No he isn’t lol. Do you have any idea what pregnancy does to the body? She’s risking death. Literal death. Even if it goes well it’s like having major surgery. She’s going to be physically changed for the rest of her life. It’s not the same buy in at all. As I said, if you’re seeing those things as remotely equivalent then you’re approaching relationships incorrectly.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/23 03:26 AM

I’m talking about developing the skill of emotional intelligence. That’s what working on yourself and your mental health means. That’s the skill therapy teaches. You have the energy to read books or watch videos.

Go reread the thread. You completely derailed the conversation. I’m not the troll. Do you even know what you’re asking for evidence of? Do you know why you’re asking? You’re not having a conversation, you’re trying to win.

I think these men aren’t willing to trust women because that requires genuine vulnerability, which is terrifying. And they just gloss over how vulnerable a woman makes herself to a man when she becomes pregnant. Not like she’s risking her life or anything 🙄

You can work on your mental health for free at home if you’re that broke. I can send you books if you like? If you’re that broke, pirate educational materials. Millions of people who actually want to improve their lives do so. It’s a skill to be developed. Nobody else can learn things for you. It’s not boot straps, it’s educating yourself.

It’s criticising the approach to relationships. If you’re approaching a parenthood like something you need to be cautious of, you shouldn’t be impregnating anyone. When you agree to become pregnant, you’re putting your complete trust in another person. You’re completely vulnerable. Women want to be in relationships with someone where there’s a mutual level of trust. When we’re in, we’re fucking in, with literally our entire bodies. We’re risking our lives. If he’s got that level of skepticism, h…

They contradict themselves all over the place in here. I was having separate but concurrent arguments with guys just completely contradicting each other’s points. I think the issue is the end result has to be that men have it harder, they can’t do anything about it and it’s somehow women’s fault. It doesn’t really matter how we get to that result though.

How does your dad know about the sex lives of so many men? It’s actually pretty common for people who have a lot of power at work to enjoy subbing. Their day to day is stressful so having someone take the pressure off and make all the decisions is incredibly appealing. Sexual catharsis and all that jazz.

Go read studies and you’ll be able to see how they designed their surveys. There are hundreds and hundreds of questions that have been asked in different studies over the years. This is a ridiculous question. There’s a reason people go to school for years to study scientific method and research methods. I can’t distill that into a Reddit comment for you. I can tell you that robust survey design is an essential part of science and any study asking “do you ignore your friends” would fail peer revi…

Sorry you can’t conceptualise stuff I guess. Art is something that’s borne from imagination and becomes real. You’re correct that those things aren’t self limiting beliefs. And I’m sorry but this whole premise of this post is acknowledging that women have more “options” than men. It’s just most of those options aren’t suitable partners. That’s literally the post. I’m not saying the prison isn’t real, it clearly is. But it’s still borne from your imagination. If you’re in therapy then I’m sure you’ve heard the term self limiting belief. You’re literally glossing over the entire problem when you say women can just find a good partner and leave the raft. That’s the entire reason they’re on the raft in the first place. Women aren’t a resource for men. Men have just as many options as women here, they can leave the desert just as easily as women can leave the ocean. But like you say, men don’t want to be lonely. They enjoy romantic relationships. Women are allowed to want the same. If women leave the raft they’re just as lonely. Contrary to popular belief, women aren’t assigned friends. If women have friends it’s because they’ve prioritised building platonic relationships. Men are the only ones telling each oth…

Scientists are literally doing research and have been for decades. It’s not educated guesses. It’s science. And these people are also actual men with their own lived experiences. Because rape is currently not seen as a serious issue in our society. There’s an accepted level. Funnily enough, the group being raped doesn’t agree with their being an acceptable level. But the group doing the rape is actually pretty unbothered by it and they’re the ones with political power. Plenty of women would rather be dead than raped. Everyone has individual standards. You don’t get to decide what they are. Firemen focus their attention on the house that’s on fire. At the moment, the rape…

They obviously aren’t all doing it on an individual level or there wouldn’t be a loneliness epidemic. Guys like the person I’m talking to aren’t being active members of their community. They aren’t making an effort to uplift other men. And also, it’s about the quality of friendships. Trans men and women both report that men have seriously underperforming friendships.

You can keep saying it any way you want. Like, it’s very obvious what you’re trying to do. Do you think you’re being clever or something? One option is undefined, the other has super specific consequences. A car accident can be your car tipping and beyond a bit of bruising and needing to replace a door, you’re largely unharmed. Or it could be a massive pile up that leads up to 20 families dying slow agonising deaths. Just like a rape could be someone forcing their penis down your throat for 30 s…

Women living their lives aren’t “smoking cigarettes” But to use your analogy, I’m saying nobody should be allowed to make cigarettes in the first place. And you’re saying women shouldn’t smoke. I’m saying nobody should be allowed to harm others. You’re blaming the people being harmed.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 05:42 AM

Why should anyone have to make that choice in a free society? Either it’s okay to take control of someone else’s body or it’s not.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 05:39 AM

Yes, I know rape isn’t a big deal to you. I know you think those women deserve it for going to bars and socialising. It’s okay to want no shitty things to happen. It doesn’t need to be a competition. But there are literally so many women who would and do kill themselves instead of being raped. I want no murderers. I want no rapists. I want people who build unsafe buildings to go to jail. I don’t want to be in a car accident. Accidents are accidents. But rape and murder are one person thinking it…

Exactly my point dude. Rape is just as bad as those things. You just don’t get that because you’re unwilling to make any effort to empathise. You’re tolerant of rape. It doesn’t bother you.

Develop your relationships then. Deepen them, change the culture and solve the problem. Not everyone has the option to work from home. I expect you to empathise with all humans. You aren’t a judge. You have no right to say that your peers should be raped because you don’t like their behaviour. Trans women actually do have some amazing stories about this stuff. I do not tolerate rape. There is no tolerable amount of rape in society. It’s abhorrent and an issue that needs our urgent attention. A society can’t be free if people are at risk of rape. If you’re zero tolerance on rape then the next step is to work out what feasible solutions there are. Spend money, study it, find out what drives it and who does it, find out what stops it. Do those things. Anything other than trying to stop all rape is saying you’re okay with some rape happening. Zero toleran…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 03:55 AM

That’s exactly my point. You’re not zero tolerance on rape. There’s an acceptable amount of rape in society for you. It’s not something you worry about. You’re rape tolerant.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 03:06 AM

And it’s terrible for them. Stop doing it. It probably turns a bunch of you into creepy rapists. Sitting and stewing alone at home about how it’s womens own fault for being raped if they go out isn’t too many steps away from wanting to go out and give one what she “deserves” Focus on your community, help other lonely men, socialise, give each other compliments, do stuff together. Fucking hug each other. Oxytocin is essential for your brain.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 02:57 AM

Because those “precautions” are self imprisonment. Why is your focus on what women should do? Where’s your big ideas to stop the rapists? Paragraphs and paragraphs about what women should do, but not one suggestion, frankly not even much interest, in what could be done to stop men from raping people. It’s interesting where your focus is.

Men are suffering from a loneliness epidemic. Their socialisation strategies obviously don’t work effectively. Why aren’t you befriending each other and supporting each other? There are billions of women at home too. You just don’t see them, because you’re at home. Your analogy is fucking ridiculous. Wanting to be able to go to and from work without being afraid isn’t going to McDonald’s. You’re obviously just bitter about some imaginary woman who goes to bars and brunch and shit. The vast major…

No, fix the rape problem. I know women who have been raped waiting for the bus home from work and getting in or out of their cars. You clearly just aren’t paying attention. Women shouldn’t have to imprison themselves. It barely helps. Most women are raped by men they know. I was assaulted by my sisters godfather on my own fucking sofa at 15. Fix the rape problem. Why should women have to live as monks? Why can’t you punish the rapists yet. A woman is a human. Humans should be allowed to go to the park, or to a restaurant, they should be allowed to have friends and socialise, they should be allowed to run out of milk at 10pm and pop to the store. You’re saying women should imprison themselves and the actual criminals get to walk free.

So someone would be raped as a minor and then live as a software monk, and their only ever sexual contact with another human was a childhood assault? And that’s a reasonable solution to you? It only happened once when she was a kid so why’s she complaining.

Dude. You have to at least read the fucking comment.

If you don’t want to get raped, the only reasonable option is to become a reclusive software monk.

Not in the middle of the day, no. But children have play dates and go to activities that their parents set up for them. Schools have trips and residentials. There are many situations that children are put into that are beyond their control. “Personal responsibility” starts when you’re actually an adult and in control of your own life. You can’t sit back and blame children for how their parents tried to raise them. So no, even in your imaginary reclusive software monk could still have been raped.…

So? I still gave you another example. The assault was just a little extra for you. As a treat. And I love that you’re just brushing away a 12 year old girl being sexually assaulted like it’s no big deal. Are you a 12 year old girl when you’re on the subway and older boys are forcing you to do stuff?

I mean, I was raped by a classmate at 14. I was assaulted in the park after school by some friends a year or so before that.

She got raped in school. Or by a partner. Or by any of the other men she knows.

Why do you think they’re on the raft in the first place? Do you think husbands grow on trees or something?

One night stands rarely make you cum. You’re only there for their pleasure. Even if they do put some effort in, they don’t know how your body works or what you like. They rarely ask and telling them gets super awkward when they’re not really invested. Sharks.

You’ve referenced one of the most toxic places on the Internet and said “I bet they’ll agree with me”. You sound miserable and unfulfilled. More attention from women will not bring you happiness. Maybe do some work with internal family systems and work out where these beliefs are coming from.

My sample size doesn’t need to be bigger. Although I’ve lived an awful lot of places and met an awful lot of people from cultures different to my own. Women are not a homogeneous monolith. They just aren’t. If you can’t get over that belief then you are going to have absolutely no luck socialising with women. I do think men’s tastes tend to be more homogeneous but that’s more to do with socialisation and there being a narrower female beauty standard than the male beauty standard. Also, from a pu…

It’s not homogeneous. You’re just suffering from confirmation bias. You’ve also got an incredibly small sample size.

It’s lad bible. They’re a company. Most of their stuff is scripted. Also, I’m British and this woman doesn’t sound that mad to me. She sounds about as annoyed as anyone would be to walk home to this unexpectedly. Calling each other a fucking idiot also is kind of a term of endearment, especially if your accent is the same as the people in this video. If she was really angry I doubt she’d be filming and she’d be shouting. Also he wouldn’t be robbing her back. If he thought she was actually angry …

But the messenger is never neutral. Nobody is ever neutral. That’s the whole point. You can’t just deny that. Bias is a scientifically recognised unavoidable fact. It’s unconscious, to pretend other people don’t have it is only doing yourself a disservice. Your approach is unscientific. And your anecdotal experience is just more bias that you’re viewing the world through. You do not know me or my beliefs. You have no idea what my opinions are on identity politics as you have never asked them. Yo…

Everyone tried to look at statements without bias but it’s literally impossible. To say anything else just shows that you don’t understand what bias is or where it comes from. You’re totally misunderstanding why the guy pointed out the sub in the first place. He said it to dissuade people from trying to engage in trying to explain anything to the OP because many people from subs like this aren’t interested in hearing why they might be incorrect. They have their world view and it’s not going to c…

How was she supposed to win in this situation. I’m genuinely curious. How is she supposed to express that she’s not happy with this behaviour. How is she supposed to make it clear that she doesn’t want this to happen again. It’s got to be incredibly stressful to come home to your stuff in the hallway and a pool in the lounge when you weren’t expecting it. If you’re paying half the rent then you have the right to be considered before decisions like this are made. The guy obviously has not thought…

Everyone has a bias. It’s one of the first things they teach you in psychology. People are inherently biased, we can try our best not to be but we’re always going to have a little. Knowing this is half that battle. That’s why it’s so important to look at the potential biases and motives that people have for what they’re saying. Using your logic we should just take every politician at face value because every statement exists in a vacuum. Did you actually see the full context of what OP posted. D…

I already said that it does nothing to help those who are already addicted in my second paragraph. I said John Oliver was a good place for background information and then pointed you in the direction of a book that provided more detailed information. I’m not going to detail the successful strategies outlined in the book because that would take far too much time. But if you’re being lazy then you can look to places like Switzerland to see the success that they have had in rehabilitating their her…

I feel like maybe you need to reread my comments. Each time you respond I feel like I’m being forced re explain things or to defend points that I haven’t actually made. I never said that these statements should be believed based purely on where/who they come from. All I said is that we need to be aware of the biases that individuals may have. The vegan benefits from you not eating meat. If they tell you that meat is poisonous then you’re less inclined to believe them as they stand to benefit fro…

The solution is to decriminalise and stop prescribing opioids when they’re not necessary. In the UK we only prescribe opioids to cancer patients and those needing palliative care. It’s very difficult to get something stronger that ibuprofen over here. Sadly, none of that is going to help the people who have already been forced into opioid addiction by their doctors. I’ve noticed a lot of people in the US aren’t really aware of how the rest of the world views their prescription model. Obviously, …

If I say something like “meat is full of toxins and it will kill you” then whether or not you believe me will depend on many things. If you knew I was a vegan, you’d be very skeptical. If I worked in the meat industry you might be more inclined to believe me. That’s why opinions don’t really exist in a vacuum. I suppose if you’ve been detailed in your response and can back it up with thoughtful evidence then you become more credible. You can’t just go around saying outrageous things and getting …

Opinions don’t exist in a vacuum though. That’s just cherry picking. And although you might just be interested in people’s opinions, many people are also interested in the people they come from. And for good reason as I’ve already explained. I understood your second paragraph just fine, it just wasn’t really relevant to the point. With the statement of “addiction isn’t a disease” the majority of people downvoted him based on that opinion, not because of the subreddits he visited. I’m sure some d…

Everyone knows the solution. The point is that it’s too lucrative for the companies involved and they don’t want to lose their gravy train. Big pharma has an incredible amount of money and they’re responsible for a huge amount of lobbying. They change laws and policies to suit their interests. You should be angry at the people responsible, not judging their victims with contempt. Are you just being willfully ignorant? Why don’t you want your medical companies to be accountable?

People never agreed with the message in the first place, I thought what he was saying was horseshit before I saw where else he posted. The majority of people don’t bother checking out where someone posts. Most of the time people can’t be bothered to actually read the article, what makes you think that they’re going to be bothered to read the post history of every Redditor they see. Most of the time people only delve into a redditors history when they’ve said something inflammatory, a lot of the …

You say almost every woman on this planet is a predator in some way because they want child cock, alpha sperm or beta money. What percentage of women don't want these things? I don't know any women who want child cock, alpha sperm or beta money. I know women who want to fall in love and have babies but as a species we have a drive to reproduce, the majority of human beings want that at some point. There are shitty women out there, just like there are shitty men, they're a very visible group, the…

No, the original point was some women rape their students and apparently that means that all women are awful. I replied stating that no individuals behaviour is representative of an entire group, especially when that group is large enough to account for roughly 50% of the population. Women are being systemically abused and kept quiet to maintain the status quo. They are being told that if they don't comply then they won't get certain jobs (Weinstein) or they are being accused of being liars whil…

There are loads of stories where men rape young girls too. It doesn't mean that the group is responsible for the actions of the individual.

All men are not the same. And if you're not looking for an LTR then you're not the fish she's interested in so it doesn't really matter if she knows how to catch you or not.
