If I Admit That ‘Hating Men’ Is a Thing, Will You Stop Turning It Into a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy?Apparently she believes that if she says something often enough it will become true! No evidence needed! | /r/MensRights | 29/03/13 05:52 PM
| -1 | How the? Those references don't even say that! Where did they *really* get those figures from? That's the point, but note that these two statements are not opposites but equivalents - they just focus on different ends of the spectrum. In fact, most people already assume this statement, but never stop to think that it also implies what Cardplay3r stated. I don't think it's deceptive - it highlights something most people never even realize concerning these statistics. Additionally, more people would likely think critically about Cardplay3r's statement since it goes against the grain and be … | /r/MensRights | 22/03/13 04:12 PM |
So, Im having a debate with a feminist friend of mine, and I think I may have gotten in over my head about this, because I dont have enough knowledge to support my side, while she has at least 2 otherThis would definitely be a better route. The other statistics need more space then an FB post would allow and are going to run head on with people who make wide assumptions about society, 'patriarchy theory', etc. The original point (i.e. 'Teach Men Not to Rape') is the easiest most concise point to get across. Perhaps point out it's like saying child abuse can be greatly reduced if we just teach women not to abuse children, considering there are many sources which state that the majority of chi… | /r/MensRights | 16/03/13 01:43 AM
| -5 | Removing options from a house-share. (xpost from /r/funny)None of that context is put in the original post, or a link to the original post, so if anything an edit to this post would help to state that. Additionally, there is no context for anything beyond this screen shot to back up your claim, so you will have to forgive me if I again remain skeptical and feel that more would be needed for this post to make it worth keeping here. Not because I don't believe this could be true, but because I have no way of demonstrating that any other alternative hypot… | /r/MensRights | 16/03/13 12:52 AM |
Patriarchy Theory takes away my agency and insults my ability to think for myself.Don't have much time to comment, but I love genderratic articles, and this one definitely works well here. Have an upvote and I would recommend more people look at the articles posted - well worth the read. | /r/MensRights | 15/03/13 11:22 PM
Removing options from a house-share. (xpost from /r/funny)This could easily be as much discrimination as it could be lazy copying by a coder who just didn't proofread that well - definitely not enough info from posting. Deserves to stay in /r/funny instead of here. Now, if the discussion in /r/funny had revolved around the idea that this 'made sense' - then this would deserve a post here. Edit: Only way I would change my statement is if the option for gender only changed this screen, since there might be other legitimate things to address later in the … | /r/MensRights | 15/03/13 10:56 PM
CNN: "Men don't have it all either ... just because men have been conditioned not to express remorse (or many other emotions), doesn't mean we don't have any." Thanks, CNN.Nice - CNN actually being fair-minded on a politically charged topic. Whodathunk? | /r/MensRights | 14/03/13 07:54 PM
I am Daniel Weible. I was sentenced to 2 years in a maximum security prison for failure to pay Child Support. AMA(crosspost from /r/iama)It took me awhile to find it, but the OP had a 'felony prison escape' charge on his record - that is why he was sent to max security. Although the prison escape charge was ridiculous since 1) he was a minor at the time it happened, and 2) it occurred when he was in a halfway house, but the prosecutor decided that since it was 'technically' a prison they could charge him with 'felony prison escape'. That whole situation sounded like it was managed by morons who should know better...go figure. | /r/MensRights | 14/03/13 07:15 PM
Women now pay less to learn web developmentCame here to say this, have an upvote. Price in a free market is generally governed by supply/demand models. The supply is constant, so they need to increase demand. Easiest way to do that is by lowering prices, especially for certain demographics (i.e. women) which may be less inclined to take the class. Which is really important here since nothing in OPs post indicate that this is a publicly funded advertisement. | /r/MensRights | 14/03/13 06:50 PM
I got mixed reviews for my article in the paper about reverse sexism. You want equality; pay the difference!I'm not quite sure this thinking could hold up. I know a lot of guys defer getting insurance longer precisely because it costs more potentially losing the company money because not as many guys will take on insurance. However, if instead the company made the rate similar to women initially and only spiked it after an accident occurred, then you might get far more men to take on insurance. If the genders were reversed I bet such line of thinking would be demanded a lot more readily because of per… | /r/MensRights | 14/03/13 06:09 PM
I'm surprised how few people call bs on this kind of thing. No, they came from anecdata which is just about as good as nowhere. While this may describe some guys, it absolutely doesn't describe all guys - we have a right to be frustrated and even, yes, offended by someone making blanket statements as if they are fact, when in reality they are personal opinions. If someone didn't want harsh critique of their opinions, then they shouldn't have posted this on the internet. | /r/MensRights | 13/03/13 01:07 AM

I was falsely accused of abuse, son stripped for 13 months with no due process - BUT - here is how I solved the problem:Just wanted to say 'BRAVO!', 'WELL DONE!', and to let you know that I've been a lurker, and just now made an account just so I could state the above, and post this: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lxtr0e3lFQ1qkdvwn.gif | /r/MensRights | 08/03/13 09:18 AM
