Same. Apparently any idiot can talk on TEDx. However, TED has a lot more stringent requirements.

You haven't signed up for selective services? I had to when I had to apply for financial aid for college.

According to one comment she owned up to it and regrets it. Do we have confirmation on that?

Still not a good excuse to get violent.

They should then institute a "Regret after having consensual sex doesn't mean you were raped" class.

Holy crap. This is spot on. Most men aren't rapists. Much like most Muslims aren't terrorists.

It's so sad that you are right.

I have always found that to be completely unfair. I always thought alimony was created so one partner's standard of living does not change since it will be harder for them to get back into the workforce as it was agreed the wife/husband would stay at home and take care of the house/kids. This article on reddit a few months ago and found it completely disgraceful and the woman without shame. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2991193/Hippy-tycoon-facing-2m-divorce-payout-ex-wife-30-years-spl…

When gay marriage was legalized by the Supreme Court, I semi-jokinly told my friend how I felt bad for homosexuals. Now they'll get to experience divorce, alimony and even child support. But that is the price you pay for true equality, not only do you get the good, but the bad along with it. And I agree, props to her for demanding equality even when it is disadvantageous.

Women may not have to fulfill any real combat duties. What about support roles?

Pleas look up the definition of outlier. I agree that women should be held to the same physical requirements as men. So those women who pass, and even those who pass with flying colors on the physical requirements, should immediately be disqualified because they're a woman? I don't know if you have sort of male superiority complex or something.

I understand, generally speaking, that women's physical stature is less than men's. My issue is more about the women that are outliers; women who are physically equal to men in all capacity. Are we to permanently exclude from participating in the military, especially the front lines, just because on their personal record, their gender is marked as "F" and not "M"?

I believe the integration of blacks into the Yankee army can be considered, at that time, a social experiment. There were definitely hurdles initially, no one is denying that. But look how they are now 150 years later.

I would love to have a female president. However, I wouldn't vote for anyone because of their gender. I'd rather the best candidate be the president who just happens to be a woman.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I am assuming things here because, again, women in the military is still a relatively new concept and real longitudinal studies have yet been done. In the short run, according to this article and possibly other articles, mixed gender has less of a desirable effect. "Fact is that women do impact mens behaviour in some ways. That may be neutral, positive or negative for some strictly defined task." I find this similar to women unable to wear particular clothing in sch…

Women in the military is still a very new concept. I didn't read the article as well however, I theorize, after reading comments in this post, that men just don't know how to handle themselves when among women, which is true when women is being introduced in the military more and more. It may be similar to when other ethnic groups were integrated into the military. There are obviously going to be hurdles initially, however, with time and as both genders learn to work together, the military shoul…

I somewhat agree with you that we do incarcerate way too many people. But what are your thoughts on drunk driving and killing someone while under the influence? Are they apples and oranges? Are they similar? No one benefits from jailing people for mistakes Many who drive under the influence and kill someone gets jailed. One can argue that they were drink and made the mistake of driving. Are you saying that's wrong? People need to understand that when driving, you are quite literally controlling …

Disregard her gender. Charge her for vehicular manslaughter. Drunk drivers get charged when they knowingly drink and incapacitate themselves and drive. She incapacitated herself when she went to check on her phone.

What the hell was the judge thinking? It was not a cell phone problem, it was a distraction problem. This woman does not realize that when she is behind the wheel, she is literally on a weapon where she needs to pay attention. If she is driving and the cell phone is not distracting her, something else will.

Wow, his resignation was eloquently written and conveyed exactly what men faced when actually trying to achieve equality. You can tell he was committed to the position and was very knowledgeable and frustrated in the atrocities women faced and sought doing what he can in improving gender issues. They really made a huge mistake.

It doesn't in of itself. However the guy let her go because she cried rape. If it were a guy, he wouldn't have let go.

I can't watch or read things like this. This is one of the truest double standards in society. There is literally no good argument you can make if the genders were reversed. If someone gets severely hurt like that, it is NEVER funny. NEVER.

Dam, I just stumbled upon this article: http://www.bustle.com/articles/34279-why-do-guys-spread-their-legs-when-sitting-on-the-subway-my-weekend-of-sitting-like "I now believe that some of those men I had raged against had probably genuinely not noticed how much space they were taking up. That’s the thing about privilege: It can be mighty blind." Do people (women specifically) regard everything that men do as a form of dominance? I can see why they see that but why don't people even think about …

I'm glad some of the comments by the article (even from women), recognize how dangerous this kind of thinking is and the importance of due process.

I agree. I'm up for men's rights, being a man and all, but this is not downright sexism. Don't know why people here are getting all riled up.

This reminds me when sometimes I go to a club, women, would take over the men's restroom when the women's are full/dirty and put up a women barrier preventing men from entering when a woman is inside. If men tried to do that to a woman's restroom, hell will break loose. Because apparently men's bathroom is also a women's.

I'm curious, did you watch the Daily Show segment?

There are problems with the catcalling video, but honestly, what's sickening were the many people's responses from reddit and youtube regarding being catcalled, essentially excusing their actions. They say it's a compliment and they're just saying hi failing to see the ramifications it can cause if one would actually respond back. I agree, the Daily Show video better explains how it is like walking through a city.

Exactly. Luckily only comedy ensued in this one instance. I'm sure there are a plethora of instances where pussypass was given which lead to actual violence. Women are capable of causing great harm.

Isn't that by definition a pussypass denied? They gave her a pussypass despite numerous complains and apparently a restraining order, then after couple times of abusing it, the cops denied it and arrested her.

They have a restraining order against her and the cops wouldn't uphold it? Are they serious? Let's see if the genders were reversed. I would have gotten their badge numbers.
