You're simply wrong. I'm sure that many democrats who had always voted may not have voted for him because he was black. However, the number of black voters participating in the primaries increased substantially when Obama was in the democratic primaries. Anyway, I really don't know what superior message you mean. Don't vote for a male candidate because he's male. Vote for him because Hillary Clinton is legitimately a poor candidate. I haven't voted for a black president yet, but I'm not against it if the right person were to run. I'm sure this is true for some men, but women don't necessarily have to drain your income. A lot of what I see on TRP is men choosing high maintenance, soul sucking women and then becoming unhappy with the results. My friend supported her husband while he went to law school by working ridiculous hours at Wal-mart. I dress up to go out with my girlfriends, worry about how they view my weight (I am thin, but for women, anything is fair game for snickers), and stress about my lack of accomplishments more than I ever do with my boyfriend. Disclaimer: I am a woman. I have found that male-female friendships work fine, just as long as there is some very large disparity in attractiveness that quashes the possibility of a hookup. In the case of a woman being more attractive, the guy has to realize, and I mean REALLY realize it's never a possibility. Women typically know that they can't hook up out of their league, so those relationships probably run a lot smoother.
