Good idea with the paper. Yeah it's so hard isn't it. Feeling cheated. Seeing girls whose mother's did teach them. I'm thankful I woke up.

Letting go of what I can't control is really hard for me. I feel like if I can't control it and it makes me feel bad, I have to figure out a way to make myself feel better and own it. I can't just accept.

Permission to take time away from family. Actually I needed to hear that. Having contact with parents again is weird. Good sonetimes other times awful. I have to remember I'm an adult I'm not going to "get in trouble" for withdrawing from them a bit.

You're right I can't let this take my 30s. I'm v glad my man is 10 years older, so he sees me as quite young. Still it sucks to see 20 yr old women sometimes. Who were lucky enough to find RP, or who grew up in more old fashioned areas and married. Most people were not dealing with two incredibly selfish parents whose problems occupied all their time. I look young too but that doesn't magically increase my fertility. What is troubling is that my age causes me to put undue stress in the relations…

Thank you. I think I should get some new clothes actually. Self care etc. and yes it is righteous anger I just don't want it to consume me.

Thanks for your replies. I think it's possible to forgive people. Probably the trickiest part is the anger at just being born at this time. I guess I have to take it up with God. Edit: I do have much to be grateful for

Sorry just saw this. It's hard to see myself through his eyes! He tells me how good I look and that women have way more power over men than they realize. I feel you because I have a young looking face. Feeling like you can't be seen as womanly or that people won't hit on you because they feel like you look underage. I don't know what to say other than dress sophisticated and wear classy makeup. People still treat me like they are the grown ups having a real conversation and I'm the little child.…

Thanks. You know I still feel ashamed when I read those self help books. But I know I need them. I feel like why do I need this?? I need to get over that because the good ones are good even though the bad ones are a waste. If you have any you like do tell me.

Thanks for writing. I'm so glad we aren't alone. The screwed up things about comparing us to other girls is very bad especially. My dad called me the favorite when it was just us. But treated my sister like special. They used to gang up on me mocking me every dinner. He said she was allowed to. Because I was easy to tease. Then she had problems in high school and he obsessed over helping her while I coped for everyone. Do you ever feel like men will automatically choose any other girl that's in …

I have a loose church network but it sucks bc I'm older than a lot of them now. I feel like an idiot as they all pair off. Honestly they all came from sheltered nice church families and are emotionally healthy and it makes me feel even worse. I guess role models can't really be people I know. Even the married ones don't have the kind of relationship I want. I think I feel disadvantaged at this not knowing any in real life. It's like little girls could see their mother being feminine sweet and ad…

Well I'm happy to listen if nothing else. That is really sad about you seeing the bfs as father figures and them leaving. It dies feel really unfair not to have a healthy view on life to get what you need, but realize it kind of late. The 60s culture did so much damage it's really terrible. I don't know why people idealize it. It's just sad what happened and how it's affected the relationship of the sexes. It's kind of a cultural wasteland right now, dating or whatever you want to call it. Direc…

I'm really sorry your mom did that. That's so terrible and wrong. My little sisters mom is doing that exact thing to her right now with my dad. Hiding his letters and stuff. It's so wrong because every child is e titled to know that they have a mom and dad and to have a relationship with them or not. My mom would at least always say he was our father and he loves us, even though she trash talks him a lot. I don't know exactly what your mom taught you but you said it's similar. Did she also get i…

Hi there and thanks for your thoughtful reply. Just while I remember: I don't fully agree with grandma saying to dumb down for boys either, my point was rather that she saw no shame in trying to learn how to improve oneself to find a man. Whereas, mom would not be ok with that (such as in this sub) I have done a lot of therapy it hasn't been great but currently I'm also seeking a spiritual counselor. I am Christian and made a return to that and it really helps. I'm glad you also have been able t…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
