I am just frankly weirded out by your focus on girls specifically. I don't see why it you should focus on it being weird for girls, yet be so opposed to saying it would be weird for guys. I don't see why it would be weird for either.

You still seem terribly concerned with it being just girls though. Do you think it is high for guys?

the vast majority with a pretty normal 5-15 That is the actual amount listed. You then said 9-15. Now you are saying 9-25. Which one is it? Why are you again focusing on girls? Is it high for guys?

I never even said it isn't polygyny though, I just take issue with it being "female controlled" polygyny. Necessarily I do believe there is more polygyny than polyandry or polygynandry, though the amount I do likely take issue with. I also particularly take issue with using it to define current dating situations.

Nope. Do you think it should be different for men and women?

Effective male population means effective male population that had a continued lineage until now, at least in any of the studies that I have read over. Even if it was that the male population that was breeding one generation to the next was 1/2 the female population that was breeding one generation to the next, that doesn't imply that women are choosing a select number of men, it could just as easily be that 1/2 of the men are choosing to be off doing other things, or that the breeding 1/2 of me…

As far as I can tell what you said doesn't make sense. It seems you have edited it, can you edit again? The "overall" genetics wouldn't mismatch by 50% in that scenario, that would be no longer human (by a long shot). The difference would be exactly the kind of mismatch that has been studied, a genetic drift in the component studied (one component, as you are stating, but it would be two if two are studied). In the scenario I outlined, the mismatch would exactly be that all people from generatio…

The whole issue is things compound over time. Like interest, right? If you have $100 in a bank account and you get 5% interest each year, after the first year you will have $105 (which is what you are looking at when only looking at one generation). After the 10th year though (200-300 years when talking about generations) you would have ~$160. (1.0510 ) By the same token, let's say each generation on average we have a 1% mismatch, i.e. 99 men impregnate 100 women. Since 0AD we have ha…

How can you reasonably expected to find truth of genetic lineage when you are specifically only looking at one generation?

Does the question of what "come through for you" means factor into this much? I think there are many people in my life, who I want to stay in my life, who wouldn't "come through for me" in the way I think the post implies (though I am not sleeping with them).

I believe it was this news clip? I can't use sound at the moment so not certain on that. It was definitely from a TV news report.
