1	Positive 50/50 Stories Doing ok but I still don’t like 2-5 schedule, it’s a long time away from each parent and she feels it during these 5 day stretches. I still struggle with it and as she gets older I often wonder how this will go long term, and question whether she will want to be with her dad 5 days straight away from the house she grew up in or her friends (i have her mother the house). 4	Paying for Dates So funny, this was my exact post 1 year ago (since deleted) on datingoverforty sub. Overarching advice was to discuss it with her. I didn’t think it would work but rather give that a chance than prematurely ending the relationship. She took it real well, and oddly enough, one year later it’s been 50/50 throughout. 1	Positive 50/50 Stories Similar situation, very amicable and good co-parents. However, I am not a fan of the 2-5 schedule. I regret not pushing the 2-3 alternative. Frankly, 5 days is a long time not to see my 12 year old but at the same time coordinating events & activities so she doesn’t sit on a bed with a phone is a lot for 5 days straight. The problem with the 2-3 is a lot of back and forth for the child, which my daughter loathes so maybe the 2-5 is better for her. 1	Daughter always wants to be at her moms house I am not sure what the right thing to do is. If you battle her on it and make her stay, doesn’t that create resentment? Or is it better to let her be where she wants to be and see her once or twice a week that is not forced. 1	Really struggling today - just me and kids, they want their mum instead Mine is a teenager and I still hear that from time to time. Doesn’t get easier but many of us are in the same boat brother. Just keep scheduling fun things to do so they view time with you as fun. Bake with them. Cook with them. Take them to the amusement park. Take them to their favorite restaurants.
