Of course, but you can say something like: "Wow I just read about that guy who came back from spending a year in space, it's crazy, would you be willing to do that?" And whether she says yes or no you can then ask "Okay, well what would you want to be if money wasn't an issue?". And then just carry on from there. You can adapt that opener to numerous other things as well.

I'm quite sure what you mean by 'start with' the topics, can you clarify? To bring up any of the topics I mentioned you can simply ask her a question about anything related to the topic and then go from there.

Start increasing your social circle by making more friends and putting yourself in places with opportunities to meet new people. Do you go to school? Then start getting to know more people in your class and get more involved in other activities like sports, clubs, etc. where you are going to meet new people. Tell her that you're not drinking for a period of time because of a new fitness diet your doing, she'll respect that. You can even joke around and tell her to drink enough for the two of you. If you're still lively and playful during the whole time then it's fine, if you don't make a big deal out of it then she won't either.
