Your political beliefs don't necessarily dictate personal values all the time. There are people on the left and right that are racist assholes, and it isn't because they voted for Trump/Hillary; It's because they're racist assholes.

Good. I'm a hardcore leftist but even I can't stand that kind of shit. It's good to have people with differing/conflicting ideologies around. It makes people think and can make them consider different worldviews, unless they're narrow minded assholes which, sadly, are plentiful on every side of the political spectrum.

That's the actual description of pedophillia. Attraction to pre-teens and pre-pubescents, I believe. There's another term for being attracted to teenagers, not sure what it is though.

This. Even if you disagree with it, most states have laws to allow these kinds of things with the age of consent, which is usually 16. So it may have been a bit weird but it was totally legal.

There are plenty of shit cops out there that deserve to be lambasted and fired, this guy was just doing his job. He may have overreacted a bit but the dumbass reared back and slapped someone, cop or not he had the right to retaliate.

"My husband is exhausted and working himself to death. Better scream at him and make him sleep on the couch instead of in a comfy bed!"

SEX WILL GIVE YOU AIDS AND YOU WILL DIE! Have a pamphlet for the local church to find Jesus in your heart and remove your sin. Yes, my "health class" teacher in 9th grade, when explaining sex, said pre-marital sex would lead to STDs and death. And when we talked about drugs, did he teach us about rehab clinics? Safe ways to prevent overdose or how to avoid drugs? No! He gave us pamphlets about each major hard drug, and on the back of each pamphlet was a quip about God/Jesus and the address/phone…

What a lovely thing to say about your wife.

Literally had my grandfather say almost this exact thing to me when I was a kid. I stole some candy from a black kid in my class, and my grandpa goes "now you go over there to that lil' nigger boy and give back his candy, or so help me I'll take off this belt and whup ya." And on that day I realized that using a racist term and being racist can be two wildly different things. Because turns out that boy's grandpa was my grandpa's best friend.

5'4. Can't even reach the cupboards in my own home, need to keep a step-stool in my kitchen. Considering purchasing stilts.

I just think the sentence should be more severe the more serious the crime you're trying to frame someone for is. So you get more time for trying to frame someone for assault than theft, etc. but not 1:1 punishment like some people call for.

Well I'm not very patriotic. I suppose it's just because I'm not one to concern myself with the grand scheme of things or other people, I keep myself to myself. So the idea of dying for the place just because I love it seems very trivial to me. Not everyone is cut out for war and heroism.

I'm okay with serving my country, I just don't want to die for it. Service and death are two different things, and I personally believe there's nothing worth dying for in this life, since you only get the one. I don't hate America and I'm not entitled/cowardly, I just don't want to fucking die. People don't seem to understand just how frightening death can be as a concept.

I don't want to die and therefore believe I shouldn't be forced to do so.

Okay, so I'm a coward for not wanting to die, which is a pretty normal reaction to facing death. Guess so.

Well generally deadly situations don't break out in suburban USA. Unless men with guns for no reason decide to storm my neighborhood and start killing people, which I very highly doubt.

I don't want to die. Is that really so fucked up?

So am I not allowed to value my life? Like, if a major conflict in the world I want no part of breaks out I'm expected to put my life on the line? I never asked those people to die for me.

That's probably true. I just know if there's a draft I'm dodging it somewhere, call me a deserter but nothing's worth dying over.

I mean, that just opens up a whole new slew of problems. I understand not wanting all the draft dodgers to jump to Canada but have a little bit of humanity dude. Some people don't want to get shot for their country.

"I don't want to die being drafted for a war I don't agree with fighting." Yep, sounds like a chickenshit and totally not rational thought. /s

Yes, there's a difference between teaching a kid not to be a crybaby and suppressing their emotions. If you are in a situation where you are legitimately sad, it should be OK to cry, boys shouldn't be hounded with never showing their emotions and being "tough."

Not everyone wants/needs a relationship like that. I have lots of friends and have been single for about three years now, and I feel fine and plan to remain single for the forseeable future.

Still no reason to drag him through court preceedings, take his children, and leave him in financial ruin.

Yes, because clearly he deserved to be beaten, knowing he can't fight back or face God knows what consequences.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
