I mean I’m mostly just taking this position because I think hypergamy is bullshit in an equal society but yet it’s still the norm. You are the exception, not the rule. Good on you for not being hypergamous. But I know in reality, complete 50/50 is not going to work for a lot of couples. I definitely wouldn’t keep a score card of who contributes more. I probably wouldn’t demand they do extra work even if I paid more. Doesn’t hurt to strive for something more equal though.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 03:54 AM

Fair enough. I’d consider than an egalitarian couple
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 03:30 AM

IT jobs can be very stressful. It’s mentally taxing, there are often tight deadlines, and just constantly dealing with complexity and unknowns is very challenging. I cannot say for certain that those other jobs are more stressful or difficult. But they certainly have their challenges, no doubt. But if they were capable of working in IT and earning more, why didn’t they? If it’s less stressful and easier, what’s stopping them from working the same job? My take is that it’s not an accident that a …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 02:59 AM

I mean if bills are split 60/40, then why is it so bad to split chores 40/60? The higher earner is still contributing quite a bit. I just think it’s very convenient to think money isn’t important in a relationship when it’s coming from the one who earns less. It’s often the case that those who earn more have higher stress, more responsibilities, etc. that’s not to be discounted. If that arrangement doesn’t work then just split bills 50/50.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 02:39 AM

That’s fair. I just like the idea in principle but I know that reality doesn’t always work out that way. I think I’d be more okay with financially lopsided relationships if I saw more men earning less than their partners. Then collectively it doesn’t seem like women only date men because it financially benefits them. But I think when it starts out 50/50 and things change over time, that’s better than starting with a big income disparity because you’d know the person actually likes you and not yo…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 01:41 AM

Right, I wouldn’t date someone who earns a lot less than me because that would be unfair for them. And if I contribute a significantly higher amount of my money, it is unfair for me. I could be open to arrangement where I pay 70/30 and they do 70/30 house chores/cooking.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 11:41 PM

Well then I’d be taken advantage of financially and I don’t like that. That’s not egalitarian. If everything is split 50/50 but I’m paying 60/40, it’s not an equitable relationship. Money is an important asset. Working hours don’t contribute to a relationship. Money does though.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 11:37 PM

Right, I was mostly arguing for this because I like it in theory. I do like those quotes, especially the first one. But in practice, I don’t believe egalitarian relationships work. I believe evolutionary biology drives mating patterns. Feminism is rooted in the idea that society is just a collection of social constructs that can be dismantled and replaced. But mating patterns are not about social constructs so much as they are about biological hardwiring. What causes the chemical reaction in the…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:52 PM

That’s fine but then the lower earner needs to make up the difference by contributing more with house chores or something else that provides value
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:24 PM

I mean, the hypothetical was that things would be split evenly. But I think it could be flexible. Like maybe I pay for a higher percentage of bills and they do more house chores. It just needs to feel like no one is being taking advantage of.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 10:05 PM

The lower earner should earn at least ~75% of what the higher earner makes.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:43 PM

Right, my framework incentivizes this even further. If you date too far below your partners income bracket, you will have a hard time keeping up with bills. A true egalitarian relationship would mean both parties earn a similar amount and at that point, splitting bills shouldn’t be an issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:37 PM

Well I think it should be split evenly, regardless of who earns more. Women date up financially more often than men and I personally look at that as more of a choice than a “it just happened” kinda deal. In order to avoid one person being taken advantage of financially, this is the only way.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:21 PM

Well you said “contribute financially”. I’m just clarifying that it needs to be equal. In that case, I agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 09:16 PM

Yes, but only if she is contributing to bills equally. But this can change if they are pregnant or are choosing to raise children. I just am tired of feminists pretending they want an egalitarian relationship but conveniently date someone who earn more than them, lets them pay for most things, still takes on most of the masculine duties. Then say well “but I work the same/more hours” and “I can’t help what I’m attracted to”. If you are still leaning on a man to pay for shit and do more masculine…

Idk if this says something about me but I actually can’t think of a single relationship where the man seemed like he was dating someone more attractive than themselves. But then again my friends have ranged from boring solid people to fun and exciting dudes who ended up addicted to drugs, or were just straight up narcissists who always end up in toxic relationships. The only dude I know who landed someone better looking is ultra wealthy because he inherited a shit ton of money and now married to…

Some met in college. Some met in a small town they grew up in. Some met on dating apps in a mid-sized city. But tbh, the boring men are slightly more attractive than their partners but not by a lot. But very average couples overall. But I think a lot of it was shared values and similar looks and personality. The man earns more in each of these relationships though.

I feel like this is a weird take about undatable personalities. Considering all the men I know in relationships, their personalities are all over the place. Some are the most boring people I know and others are over the top energetic but can be a huge energy drain. But most of them are pretty fucking boring ngl. I think boring people are actually pretty normal and boring personalities are actually considered attractive by other boring people. I think people just look for people like themselves. …

Well not only do they have money, but they are also pretty good at critical thinking, at least compared to the general population. I would argue that people in STEM are more likely to not be full on redpill because they don’t think in black and white, unlike this person is suggesting. There is no correlation between intelligence and being good at dating. It’s all about social skills and looks, none of which have a direct collection to intelligence.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 10:44 PM

Right, but are you suggesting that men with STEM degrees don’t have critical thinking? And on top of that, are you suggesting that’s why they are struggling to date?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 10:28 PM

Are you saying that the reason people in STEM are struggling with dating is due to lack of critical thinking? If so, dating and critical thinking aren’t intertwined whatsoever. I agree it’s more related to lack of social skills than anything. Most of the people in stem careers are either on the spectrum or act like they are, which limits their dating pool.

Can’t confirm or deny that statement for millennials/gen z. I think younger generations in trades are probably having a tougher time due to women flocking to cities for office jobs. A lot of men like building stuff with their hands, so it’s likely just a preference. I find it funny how women think they are better than dudes building and maintaining infrastructure because they wanted a leisurely office job so they had to go to college. I went to college and I know damn well that what I do is not …

Men do work majority of hard labor jobs. They have limited dating pool because of their income. Men make more money working in an office to increase dating pool. Women will complain either way. Do you think that all men need to work hard labor jobs to call out the gender inequality? If so, you’d have no one to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 07:47 PM

Well, we have to because hard labor jobs don’t pay enough to meet the 6 figure income so many women demand.

Okay, that’s a lot of info. I believe you have good social skills. Good on you. But this whole taking on the mentorship role, boasting about yourself, projecting high social status, and relying on external validation is kinda giving narcissist. Right now, I think your goal is to either feel superior to me or get attention from me, even if it’s negative. I personally don’t like the way you think you’re better than others, so I’m gonna leave it here. I hope I’m wrong about you. Good day

You sound pretty hedonistic. I think there is value in sitting alone with your thoughts. You know that you can have dialogue with yourself? You can ask yourself deep question. You can try and uncover the difference between your true self and the persona you present to the world. Right, but I’ve decided not to put on a social performance anymore, even with friendships. The reason people try and be “fun” or “attractive” is because they desire to be liked by others. I’ve lost this desire. IMO, it’s all a performance to provide social value because we have a desperate need for validation. I feel actually free now. But downsides are people like me less. I don’t have enough context to say. If you would just answer any of the questions, it could help me determine what I think the issue is. You are extremely deflective. I’m just going to conclude that you have issues setting boundaries and don’t want to take accountability.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 04:30 PM
2

I asked three separate questions. You responded with a question. That’s not how debates work. But to make it very clear, I think that women who do absolutely nothing to set boundaries and make it clear they don’t want sex and end up having sex have no right to blame the guy for wanting sex with them. But if you did set a boundary and it was crossed, then it’s on the man. That’s how consent works. If you consent to sex and have sex, then you are a willing participant.

So you think the only way for women to have fun is for men to be very intentional about using a tactic that makes them want to have sex with them? I mean if that’s true, women are gonna end up getting abused by a lot of narcissists, which they currently are. So that does check out. IMO, I think women and men both are just harder to please because we have dopamine generating machines at our fingertips. Why have a normal conversation with someone where we actually get to know eachother when I can …

Right, improvements could be made there. But you are still protected by the law if these actions occur or you feel threatened they may occur. But how do you know how people feel? Do they say something that makes you feel they are entitled to your body? Do you sleep with a man who paid for a date because of pressure applied by them? Or is it just regret for sleeping with a man which was completely consensual? Keep in mind, you are allowed to say no if they ask you to come over. You are allowed to…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 03:33 PM

Well you can’t police how people feel. You can only police how people act. If you sense they feel entitled, time to leave. I can assure you, there are plenty of decent men that won’t feel entitled to your body if they pay on a first date. But demanding a split is a good way to mitigate the risk

I also want someone who is fun to be around. If I feel like the interaction is fun only because I caused it be fun, what’s in it for me?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:19 PM

I mean entitlement to a women’s body and sexual assault go hand in hand. But the issue is that being entitled to a women’s body, insofar that they act on it, is a crime. You can call the police if such a man is acting that way.

I think you are conflating “having fun” with being manipulated to drop their panties. Having the skills of an f-boy usually means you are one. But you aren’t wrong women do want to be manipulated to drop their panties. But women are wrong in thinking the men with such skills are going to be good long term partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:03 PM
3

I’ve never felt entitled to a women’s body after paying for a date. What you are suggesting is that men are allowed to sexually assault women because they paid. There are laws in place to protect women from this sort of thing. Women however do feel entitled to my money when I take them on date. No laws protecting me from being taken advantage of. I for one think we should normalize splitting the bill. But guess who doesn’t want this to be normalized?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 01:43 PM

It’s been my experience as well that women on apps just want f-boy energy on a date regardless of what they are looking for. They want an instantaneous spark and they will do absolutely nothing to cause this to happen. They will just show up and react. If you don’t provide the f-boy energy, they will lose interest very quickly. As a result, they end up getting used by f-boys for sex and wonder why

Well it certainly is harder for men to get a ONS than for women. No doubt about that. But something can be difficult and unfulfilling at the same time. While a few ONS could be exciting and fun, doing it too often takes away the novelty and excitement. It just becomes pleasure seeking behavior, which is not that different than an addict looking for their next hit. Anyways, women are privileged when it comes to getting intimacy. You are overthinking this eye contact thing. That’s not always what causes people to approach. But even in cases that’s why, personality, facial mannerisms, getting up close to someone can change how you view them. Looks are the just the initial filter.

I mean I don’t think it really matters who initiates. Women will still only express interest in men they find attractive, regardless of who initiates. If they wouldn’t approach a man then said man approaching them will likely lead to rejection. Men may have a tiny shred of hope if they do happen to play their cards right by showing the right amount of confidence and charm. But that doesn’t always work. Women like men who have confidence and who they are also attracted to. The only reason men kno…

Well stats say they are only attracted to 20% of men IIRC, but women say a lot of shit that’s isn’t true. Dating app swiping is not an accurate measurement imo. So who actually knows. When I cold approach I usually don’t target the ones I’m most attracted to. I target more realistic options. When your job is to initiate, you also need to consider risk of rejection. Women never have to do that so that plays into their delusions of who they think they can get.

I do think convenience plays a big role in why women don’t want to pay for dates. But it’s not laziness. When it comes to initiating, women don’t want this gender role because it requires a certain amount of emotional resilience that a lot of women just don’t have. Some may handle rejection fine but most will not. There is a sort of unwritten acknowledgment in society that women are more emotionally fragile than men and therefore men need to take on the gender roles that have the most emotional …

I mean that’s fair, but no one is saying that. When I read “adds value”, I translated it to “on top of the baseline attraction and our connection, what do you have to offer me? Are you a high earner? Are you 6 ft? Do you make me laugh? Do you let me talk most of the time while you listen and ask interesting questions about me?” That aligns pretty well with women I meet these days.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 11:06 PM

Haha please do. Maybe your partner will learn the transactional nature of your relationship. There is no such thing as being “attracted” to someone because they are financially successful. That’s cope to disguise that you are ONLY in that relationship because of his money. I mean I’ve been taken advantage of financially in my past relationships, so I am just spreading a message that men deserve better than that. I mean it’s just socially acceptable for men to be taken advantage of so it’s not really their fault tbh. I don’t blame women for this necessarily because they’ve been conditioned to do so. Just saying it’s 100% transactional, but it’s worse because you are the only one benefiting from this arrangement. Very convenient to be “attracted” to someone who outearns you. I don’t understand this framing. Romantic love has fundamental properties which are just intrinsic value that both parties should enjoy like companionship, attraction, emotional support, sex, etc. There is inherent value in being in a romantic relationship. Right, that’s fair. I wouldn’t say men do it to get sex or they aren’t interested in you. More so, they do it because the alternative is that they wont have an opportunity at a second date or sex. If you don’t have to be intentional about your behavior on a date, consider that a privilege. That means you haven’t failed enough to have to use tactics.

In my experience, women look at romantic connection as something that just happens. Men, particularly men with a lack of success in dating, look at romantic connection as something that they’ve created. You fail enough times and you have no other option but learn what works.

I do see how you landed here as some people’s definition of confidence and assertiveness would be a prerequisite for many of these behaviors. I’d argue there are more suitable terms for these that don’t necessarily require confidence or assertiveness. “Pursuing one’s goals” - ambition “Showing one’s sense of humor” - authentic “Expressing responsible, informed decisions” - competent/articulate “Acknowledging what one doesn’t know” - humility “Handling an unexpected problem well” - intelligent/re…

Can you think of any specific examples of expressions of confidence or assertiveness that you find attractive? Is it expressed verbally? Through body language? Through actions?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 03:38 PM

That’s fair. I mean, I’d argue that the majority of men (probably women too) have an innate self belief. But I feel like this isn’t something that can be expressed very easily in the early stages of dating. I am curious what woman mean when they say they are attracted to confidence. I can’t help but think it just means presenting yourself in a way that completely masks insecurity or self doubt.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 03:12 PM

I guess I don’t really understand what people mean by healthy confidence. In my mind, I think of someone who has unwavering self belief regardless of capabilities and does not express insecurity or self doubt. All the men I’m talking about fit this description quite well. It appears to be an attractive quality to women specifically despite it being 1) delusional and 2) dishonest. Everyone has limitations. Everyone ought to second guess themselves. Everyone ought to have insecurities. If these ex…

Absence of insecurity or self doubt. What’s yours? But when you define it, think about what would provoke attraction when first getting to know someone
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 10:54 PM

That checks out. But being “confident” just in general translates to self delusion imo. Like there are things you should be confident about. Let’s say you know how to cook well or are good at chess or whatever. Then you’ve earned the right to be confident because you developed a skill. But no human has mastered everything. Everyone is insecure. To claim confidence is to claim the absence of insecurity, which I find to be dishonest. But to your point, dating someone who is similar yourself is may…

But I don’t know what you’re on about if you don’t take advantage of men for their money. Wrong. I actually think full time child care is similar to working a full time job in terms of value provided. The alternative is put the child in day care while you work. That would cost about 50k per year. There is additional value for a mother to take care of their child so I’ll even add extra value there. Let’s call it 60k. I didn’t say men shouldn’t contribute to child care, even if they are the primary breadwinner. You just shouldn’t assume that your husband had an easy day at work when he comes home and that he is ready to take on a large portion of house chores and child care duties. He of course should help out, but in a way where he’s not being completely taken advantage of.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 04:19 PM

This is what I mean by taking what value men bring to the table for granted. Working can be very taxing and I would consider it a luxury to not have to do it. Child care is taxing as well but it’s a hell of a lot more rewarding than working for a corporation that doesn’t care if you live or die and are reduced down to a performance metric.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 04:08 PM

Well relationship dynamics vary couple to couple, but a specific example from my relationships is when I earn more money and disproportionately pay for bills/outting with my partner, I’d expect them to recognize that as me adding more value than they do financially; thus, they need to add more value in other areas where they can to make it a more equitable relationship.

I mean, I don’t know how dumb you think other people are, but no one believes you when you use your limited anecdotal experience to make sweeping claims about all women in relationships. I’ve been in relationships and know damn well that women take for granted what men often bring to the table. “We both work, we both contribute” Honestly, who earns more? If your man earns more and disproportionately pays for things, he still contributes more despite you contributing your share.

In my view, women often take for granted the traditionally masculine qualities men bring to the relationship that add value, like providing financial/emotional stability, fixing things, leading, providing safety, sacrificing their own needs/desires, etc. I don’t think women realize that these responsibilities are burdensome and taxing. Since women tend to just expect this and don’t view it as valuable, they expect men to additionally split traditionally feminine responsibilities, like house chor…

Mating is a form of competition. Both men and woman have their own form of intrasexual competition. Men compete against other men in the form resource acquisition, which entails demonstrating athletic ability, competency, intelligence, and social skills. But in order for this competition to be worth the effort and risk of failure, there needs to be a reward. It’s more about the narrative that goes on when relationships don’t go well for them. Women don’t believe they are at fault because their friends and support system don’t provide honest feedback, but rather empower them by saying something adjacent to it’s the man’s fault. I am just saying that it doesn’t hurt for them to look inward and as self evident on this sub, woman tend to not do that very often but instead project their issues onto men.

They ought to hold themselves (whom) accountable for their own lack of success in dating by becoming a more desirable woman (in what way). Accountable for your own behavior. If dating is not going well for you, y’all blame it on men. If dating is hard for men, it’s their own fault. Women can absolutely benefit from dating advice but the only way it can be received is if there is some level of acknowledgment that there is room for improvement. I genuinely think most of y’all believe you are nearly perfect creatures the way you are and everyone else around you needs to adjust to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 03:32 PM
