Nice job although I'm not sure why you asked Jeff for his permission to talk to this girl. She introduced herself to you which put you in the driver seat. If I was interested I would have told him that as the first thing instead of asking if he was interested. You still got the number but I think you could have gotten a lot further with her by being direct with your roommate.

As a fellow Indian, it is much more difficult to pick up at a wedding.

I've always wanted to go to a gay club to check it out. I can never find anyone to go with and I don't know if I could go by myself.

Just because you ask someone what they are doing tonight does not automatically make it seem like you don't have plans. Just be the person who initiates the plan and be like oh I was thinking of going to so and so, but I guess you are already doing something else. And if that's the case, leave it be and make concrete plans later.

You can always be like, "Well I was thinking of going to this other thing, just wanted to see what you were doing." And then since you already made other plans with another group of people, make definite plans with the person you are essentially blowing off because you made different plans. It says to them, hey sorry I couldn't make it out with you tonight, but I definitely want to chill with you, so let's make concrete plans rather than leaving it up in the air.

Still working on the eye contact, it's going but a slow process right now.

While I tend to agree with you, sometimes completely leading the conversation is annoying to me. I keep asking the girl questions about herself, what she likes to do, etc and I try to insert things about myself whenever I can. I like to get asked about myself as well. It shows to me that the girl has an interest in what I'm doing and saying.

Sometimes people are shy because they don't know how to open up to other people that they communicate with, especially if they are meeting them for the first time. By being more open about yourself, this will hopefully cause her in turn to be more open with you, and therefore more comfortable.

Yeah I never do generic compliments. If I can't compliment something specific, I would rather not compliment at all.

Ok, that's what I was hoping. Sometimes when I'm talking to a girl, I get wrapped up by whatever conversation we are having, and let's say for instance I like the necklace she is wearing. I'm not sure if it would be weird if I brought it up 15 mins in rather than something I would say right away.

Many foreigners don't understand sarcasm. At my old school, there was this Asian student that was there just for school and she had a very hard time understanding sarcasm. She thought that people were telling the truth, when in reality they were being sarcastic.

My friend writes poetry. He busts it out almost every night we go out. He has them written in his phone and he reads them aloud to women. It's worked pretty well for him.

I know if a girl approached me and I was not interested in her, I would try to introduce her to a friend of mine who was single. It takes some guts as a girl to approach and it honestly is a breath of fresh air when it happens. I personally have never not been interested in a girl who initiated. Initiating shows that you have confidence. Women like men with confidence, it works the other way around too.

I do this consistently as well although there have been instances where i crashed and burned. It's all about the delivery though.
