| 2 | DepressionThe hard holidays were Thanksgiving and Halloween for me, because I didn’t have my kids. My advice is scattered, and by no means prescriptive. These are just things that helped me: 1. Savor the autonomy. What was something you want to do but never did? Do it! Or, choose to sit at home and do nothing. Or go to Dairy Queen and take a walk. Or go on a 5 mile hike. Whatever it is, you can choose how to spend your time. I had to become comfortable with reaching out to people. I call my parents. Rando… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/05/26 10:00 PM |
| 11 | My attraction to my wife has gone away almost completely. This is probably one of many issues between the two of you. It sounds like she may be depressed. My recommendation is therapy. But be honest with the therapist. If you want out of marriage, that’s a choice you’re free to make, and it doesn’t matter what the reason is. It’s an incredibly personal thing that many people will never accept. It sounds like this has been bubbling up for a while, and if it isn’t dealt with, you’ll end up cheating or considering putting a gun in your mouth. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/05/26 11:32 PM |
| 6 | What ruined your marriage? She just didn’t like me. I think she wanted to end things but didn’t have the guts to do it. So her behavior escalated and became more and more unreasonable. Ended with me calling the cops on her. She refused to go to counseling because she’ll never admit to doing anything wrong. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/25 12:19 PM |
| 6 | I have screenshots of her admitting to drinking and driving with the kidsIn my experience, if she isn’t arrested for it the courts won’t care. Especially if she doubles down on excuses or acuses you of things. Get a lawyer. If you’re worried for you or your kids’ safety, call the police. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/07/25 05:05 AM |
