An allegation is usually part of a criminal proceeding. If someone was suing a man for rape in a civil court, the man could countersue for defamation or defamation per se depending on the state. DAs usually do not pursue false allegations cases because it could be a deterrent to other rape victims who don't know whether to report or not. Anyone falsely accused of rape can always sue in civil court if the case isn't successful in criminal court.

When my husband and I first found out I was pregnant, I brought up circumcision before we knew what we were having. I've lurked here for a while, and pictures like these just break my heart, so I was all for an uncircumcised baby. He was insistent that it should happen, because everyone else does it. I've never been more thankful to find out both are girls.

Even doctors and clinics rarely do pregnancy tests with blood. The hCG is perfectly detectable in urine, and the testing supplies and test itself is stupid cheap compared to blood testing. The accuracy of testing at a doctor isn't many percentage points higher than a home test, and you're much more likely to get a false negative than a false positive (just from testing too early).

Yes. A lawyer in her area is going to be the one who knows the Illinois laws that the ex and the child are subject to, will have relationships with the judges who may get the case, and have the best chance of helping your friend get out from under this. It's not as convenient as being able to physically go to the office to talk to the lawyer face-to-face, but email and phone calls will have to do.

That was the legal advice. His question was whether or not he could do anything about his neighbor recording him. The advice was no, he can't, because he was in a public place, and the recording was of him slapping his girlfriend, and he assaulted the neighbor.
