Hey man, it's your claim. What's your justification for it?

1) I am a Conservadox Jew. An Orthodox Jew would not be on most Social Media. Guess I misread. 2) I am 100% against banning Jewish and Islamic religious practice. Preserving religious practices is more important to you than boys to have autonomy over their own bodies?

Why not link to the actual video, instead of some guy talking to his computer about it?

Bad bot.

As an orthodox Jew and male advocate, I'm curious what your opinions are on infant circumcision.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates08/11/19 07:56 AM

I offered examples right off the bat. Instead of accepting that offer, you decided to just go off on other rants and demand answers to other questions.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/11/19 07:38 AM
1

No.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/11/19 07:37 AM
1

No. You don't get to just make an assertion and then demand I ignore it so that you can change the subject to something else.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/11/19 06:46 AM
1

Too bad. I guess you can try reading it again, until you do pick it up. I'm sure you'll get it eventually, if you put in an earnest effort.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/11/19 06:45 AM
1

So you didn't pick up on it then. I suggest you go back and read this conversation that you were not party to (and I was), before you start trying to tell me what it was about.

I was replying to what it started with.

Boy, you are really doing a terrible job at this "not having anything more to say" thing.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/11/19 03:23 AM
1

Yeah, you're throwing out that false claim again. Which is why I'm explaining how you're wrong. And I'm doing so, by trying to get you to actually read the conversation and notice what was being said. I think you need to go read the conversation again. I kept asking him if he understood something. Did you pick up what that was?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 09:09 AM
1

No, I'm trying to keep it still. And if you are going to repeatedly try to back away from a claim you made while it's being challenged, you're going to find it wont work. Either wait out until we come to a conclusion on it, or admit it was a false statement.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 09:07 AM
1

No, no. You made this claim that he was arguing that "just because people on the right say it does not make it a right wing talking point". You don't just get to throw out a false claim and then demand that the the subject be changed to something else before it can be addressed.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 08:27 AM
1

I'm trying to, but you keep refusing to engage with it, instead repeatedly attempting to change the subject.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 08:26 AM

I think you need to go read the conversation again. I kept asking him if he understtood something. Did you pick up what that was?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 08:08 AM

False. Were that the case, why would he be so resistant to me telling him that exact thing?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 08:03 AM

This is the only relevant question No it isn't. You decided to say this: Just talking about men's issues is seen as "right wing talking points" by a lot of people on the modern left. That claim is false, and I'm explaining to you how it's false. If you want to admit it's false, we can move on and I can answer other questions you have. If not, then I'm not letting you change the subject.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 08:01 AM
1

i am asking for the examples. you have not given examples. Because I said "Would you like some examples?" and instead of saying "yes," you keep going into other rants and questions. And you're doing it again in this comment.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/11/19 07:52 AM
1

"just because people on the right say it does not make it a right wing talking point" That's the point I was making to him. Through a series of comments that was way longer than it needed to be, because he kept trying to change the subject.

You're getting off track. We're talking about the difference between "right wing talking point" and "some things people on the right believe." You said that you were willing to take the time to learn the difference between those two. So, since I took the time to explain it, I would like to verify that the difference is clear before moving to a different subject. Is this difference clear to you?

/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/11/19 01:22 AM
3

Ok. To start, there's a difference between "right wing talking point" and "some things people on the right believe." The main difference is that a right-wing talking point is a political point specifically used by the right wing, rather than just anyone. So "the sky is blue" is not a right-wing talking point, because it's generally agreed upon by people on both sides of the aisle. "Letting boys wear dresses is just going to confuse them and lead them to being weak men" is a right-wing talking po…

You're changing the premise. I'm talking about explaining to you how Not kicking puppies is also supported by the right wing, does this mean we should start kicking puppies? Is a poor analogy to pointing out that this post is a right wing talking points.

With the rise of the alt right, there has been a lot of derogatory language for men coming from the right. E.g. cuck, soyboy, numale, etc. Seeing how little most MRAs were interested in addressing this made me realize that the men's rights movement in general isn't really interested in defending against discrimination from all sources. They're not just interested in using men's rights as a cudgel to fight feminism.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/07/19 09:22 PM

I vote not to ban them. Discussion of opposing viewpoints is necessary, and they only seem to post in threads that specifically have something to do with transpeople, which are threads where it would probably be informative to hear the opinion of a transperson.

1

You're right. I realize this threat exists, and I feel that it is horrible that some people would resort to violence for such a reason. But it does sort of support my original point, that trans people often try to obfuscate their birth sex and convince people that they are something which they aren't through non-verbal means.
/r/MensRights13/10/11 02:29 AM
6

"ravaging" means "raping." Aside from that, though, it is not transphobic. "What!?" I can almost hear you say "how do you get off saying that!?" Let me explain: transphobia is an irrational fear or hatred of trans people, right? Well, if I said that I would immediately stop being attracted to anyone who's trans, thou might have a point. But, that's not the case. Being trans means you have a gender which doesn't "match," your sex. But I couldn't care less what somebody's gender is relative to the…

Imagine this. You go to the doctor's office for your regular check-up. You fill out the paperwork and sit in the waiting room. After awhile, a man in a white doctors coat holding a clip-board comes out and asks you if you're ready, and you say "yes." So, you go into the exam room and he tells you to put your feet on the stirrups (or turn your head and cough), and the exam is pretty routine. You feel good about having gone to the doctor for awhile, until you go back into the waiting room, and the…

that most women, cis and trans, strive for a typically feminine appearance I'd say that's true, but there's something more in how transwomen do it; an intense fear of clocking. I should probably disclaim that I don't mean to characterize all transwomen as doing this. There are some who are comfortable with their sex and don't have a desire of obfuscate it, but they seem to be a minority.
/r/MensRights13/10/11 01:46 AM
1

A transwoman is somebody who was born male, but identifies as female. So, looking like a transwoman would entail having physical features that are more common on biological males (e.g. being tall, broad shoulders, square jaw, etc.) but dressing and presenting in such a way that signified you were of the female gender (wearing a dress, for instance).
/r/MensRights13/10/11 01:39 AM
7

I don't think it's that you don't want to have sex with them even though you're attracted to them. I think it's more often that you stop being attracted to them once you find out their original sex, or you're not attracted to them from the get-go because you can tell their birth sex. I can't speak from personal experience, but I imagine it would go something like that.
/r/MensRights13/10/11 01:24 AM
1

Trying to convince people that you are of the male/female gender is one thing. Passing is all about trying to make somebody think you are of the male/female sex. Specifically, the birth sex (after all, most transwomen don't want to look like transwomen; they want to look like ciswomen).
/r/MensRights13/10/11 01:22 AM
-4

It's called "passing." Lots of people who are trans put great effort into convincing people, as much as they can, that they are the opposite sex. Although they may not specifically say the words "I was born fe/male," they are putting in a great deal of effort to make others think that.
/r/MensRights12/10/11 10:34 PM
4

Preferring not to have somebody because of their sex is not transphobic.
/r/MensRights12/10/11 10:28 PM
2

"An adult person who identifies as 'female.'" "An adult person who dresses and presents in a feminine way." "An adult person who has a vagina." "An adult person who was born with a vagina." "An adult person with ovum-producing gonads." "An adult person with all X-shaped cromosomes." There's probably more, too. Some definitions would include a post-transitioning transwoman. Some definitions would include a pre-transitioning transwoman. Some would include neither.
/r/MensRights20/09/11 01:05 AM
-1

And that understanding has advanced to the point where we know women who have transitioned are still women. That really depends on your definition or "woman."
/r/MensRights19/09/11 10:09 PM

Nope. Having a sex preference is transphobic.

/r/MensRights11/08/10 12:07 PM

Why? There are plenty of good reasons to worry about other people's relationships. They could be abusive, or coercive. They could be between an adult and a child and/or between a teacher and a student. You don't really think that all relationships should only be minded by the people in them, right. I mean, surely if you knew that a man was having sex with his preteen daughter, that would still at least a little bit of outrage in you.
/r/MensRights12/06/10 03:53 AM
2

Right. I think we agree on the fundamentals of this. If someone starts a relationship with someone right after they stop being their teacher, then it's pretty clear that the lead-up to their relationship was while they were still student-teacher, or that they were dating while they were student-teacher and just hiding it. The whole thing reminds me of something my mom told me about. She used to work in public school, and she told me about this one boy who had a lot of emotional and social proble…

/r/MensRights09/06/10 03:25 AM

Conflict of interest. If it's a teacher dating a student, that's pretty unethical. If she's his former student, then the lead-up to when they were dating was during that period, which is also pretty wrong.

What's wrong with it? The fact that it explicitly says it's an act perpetrated by a man (so, what, if a woman or a minor forces someone into sex with them, then it's not rape?). Where did you get that definition?

This article was also posted in 2xChromosones. What's ironic is that most of the comments there seem to be agreeing that this is sexism, while most of the comments here are downplaying it. Really, a lot of the commenters in here want to say the author is complaining too much, or blowing it out of proportion, or that it's minor compared to certain injustices that women face. None of these things, however, change the fact that it is sexism and thus wrong.

I don't know any open transmen. I've talked to some people that I'm pretty sure were, but I don't really know any. I do think men's rights applies to transmen as well, for the most part. Men's rights is about removing the negative treatment that society gives us because we are male. As someone who society will see as male, you (more than likely) face this same negative treatment, and so it's equally relevant to you to remove it. Unless, of course, you ever remind people of the fact that you were…
