The point is that once a pregnancy occurs both parties should be able to decide if they want the child or not. If a female chooses to continue with the pregnancy and the male refuses to support it financially, then she is incurring a financial burden (the cost of sole parenting for 18yrs) so that his choice can be accomodated.
