100% agree, but the event in OPs post is not the bare minimum. There’s a good chance he could have died from this event; most people lose their sense of logic in life threatening situations and can’t think beyond the event. The next level is just calling loved ones to gain support and tell them you love them. This man went beyond that and did 3 compassionate things for OPs nana, with extra care for her feelings over his. It’s implied in the post that he placed the items in the hallway while wait…

The point about LVM being very hierarchy oriented really resonated with me. On this sub I think it’s become such a common thing to attribute too much self awareness to LVM. Like yes they know what they’re doing is generally horrid, but if they were fully aware of this fact they wouldn’t be able to see themselves as a good person, which is kind of a human thing to need. Like even Hitler thought he was doing good things, clearly he lacked real self awareness and empathy. There has to be a lot of c…

I mean, shoots like this kind of highlight the lack of a baby and family. It makes her incredible accomplishment look less than the accomplishment of giving birth. Do an original photo shoot with your thesis or certificate as the main focus. It’s kind of like when Hollywood remakes male cast movies with women instead. Like we don’t want the hand-me-down lame man stories that make women seem lame instead. We are creative enough to come up with our own new stories to tell and connect with.

I really don’t think that many of them have the self awareness to spot the double standard. Their advice changes without conscious intent.

Assuming institutions teach anyone. The pandemic has made it pretty clear how little they support their students. Maybe the guys just miss having a mommy to hold their hand through it all

It depends what your primary reasons for going to therapy are, but I would suggest working on other things for the time being, and wait until you can switch therapists for romantic relationships. For example interpersonal relationships in general (and you could frame others as women or neutral if she’s constantly defending men), or self esteem/confidence, etc. The risk of constantly having these interactions is that eventually you’ll internalise at least some of her views and it could spill over…

What would be the best course of action in this situation? Police wouldn’t arrive in time and you can bet he’ll say it didn’t record/ delete the vid before it can be proven. I’d love to grab and smash it but then you’re stuck with a 2k bill plus it’s prob on iCloud anyways. And he could crawl right under and hurt you back, it’s a dangerous move.

It’s a forever 21, which as the name suggests is targeted at young women/teenagers. I don’t think they have separate change rooms, but it’s mostly only girls who shop there anyways. Most guys would be embarrassed to even be seen shopping there. Clearly the store should reconsider their layout

It’s certainly a bleak outlook, but this is where the overlapping stats become a bit misleading. You’re right I didn’t split the 370k people in half for men and women, but since some of the the other stats aren’t only for men, I can’t know if it’s a 50/50 split. Another comment here makes this point too, using the example of higher percent liberals fitting into younger age ranges. With this many variables it really could be much higher than 1% or much lower. But idk enough about stats to make an…

1% of 37m is still 370k. It’s a long shot but also keep in mind these men generally will be urban, not rural. And we only have a few big cities. Plus high value people are friends with other high value people. It’s hard, but now that you know what you want, it can be a small world. That being said, I think it’s good to be prepared to be alone and not settle, just showing you that you can use your same reasoning to narrow a search too.

Disagree, you just know they’ll spin this to any mutual friends that you were in his phone. Just leave and block. If you must let him know you know he cheated, leave a one sentence note or text before you block. Let him wonder how you found out, don’t let him learn to be sneakier with his phone.

On a similar note, I really like this comment because you saw an unfamiliar word that you wanted to learn, and instead of asking the speaker to define it for you (or dismissing them for using big/ uncommon words) you looked it up yourself. And then you thanked them for teaching you something new. It reminds me of an ex who always asked me what words meant and then got mad when I sent a screenshot of the definition.

Agreed. As OP touched on, tech like this always has potential for good and potential for evil, so it’s about deciding if the risks outweigh the benefits. In this case it’s important to consider who is running this system and for what purpose? Based on how social media and the internet in general has already been playing out, I think it’s a bit idealistic to think that women will benefit more than men when you think about the answers.

Watching other people have sex is just so off. The ambiguous scenes that don’t actually show anything, sure, maybe. But still, feels like arguing semantics.

Would you expect that it’s the same for Vyvanse/ other ADHD meds?I take it when I really need to, but it only works for like 3 days max and then I have to go off for like a week for it to be tolerable again. The side effects are rough, but same as you, I’m almost out of options for other medications to try. Adderall made my hands shake so much. Did your doctor talk about her experience with other female ADHD treatments? The saddest thing is that female doctors aren’t necessarily more knowledgeab…

In your opinion, why do you think they have such polar attitudes about how to run a household? Generally these attitudes are highly influenced by the parents. Is there a large age gap between the two of them?

Never heard of her before, but after watching the ted talk you linked I certainly will be looking her up! On one hand it makes me sad that I never had a childhood like what she describes, and the young girls in my family don’t/won’t get that either. On the other hand it makes me excited to learn that there are other ways to experience womanhood and sisterhood. She has the kind of liveliness that passes on to everyone, I feel more energetic just watching her! Thanks for sharing!

This could go one of two ways, with a little more context. Is he constantly playing the victim? Did you actually call him a piece of shit or did you call him out for something and he flipped the conversation to make you into the bad guy? Is he blaming you for something you aren't doing as a way to avoid difficult conversations? If he has the EQ of a toddler then this is a good wakeup call to get out before he gaslights you out of recognition. Don't discredit your intuition if you think something…

That men know exactly what they are doing to you. The whole cOmUniCaTe thing is just a socially acceptable gaslighting technique that is wielded to cover the tracks of individual gaslighting. Enough of the incredibly well thought out explanations that are crystal clear, only for him to pull the "taking it too personal/ overthinking/ emotional" card. The importance of generosity. I totally fell for the whole equal financial contribution thing, especially for dates, because "women are equal and me…

I started seeing my ex a few months following a bad concussion which turned me from being a minimum 15 minutes early person to an hour late person. Once I knew this, I started getting ready so early it took up half my day and would let him know in advance if I was running even 5 minutes behind, and even what the arrival time on my gps was bc I felt so bad being late. And it happened often enough that I was way too lenient when he was late, and he just kept pushing it. He was the picture of punct…

What blows my mind is that people are watching it! The description doesn't even try to hide what it is Though I wonder if Netflix puts things in the top ten for advertising, since they don't release stats and like you said, no reviews or ratings
