A general variant of your "technique" is to basically hook the other person with an itneresting topic that you know about and that they might not know a lot (or at all) about. Nice job on you getting her hooked. Let's see where you guys go from there

I'll try to explain it: Being disinterested is not the same as being not needy Mark Manson put it best in his book "Models": if you chase a woman and show her that you are overly interested, to the point where your interest is higher than hers, she'll see that you are clingy and needy. People don't like needy people in general because those people tend to expect from us something that we might not want to give them right away but might be willing to give them at some point. So in a simple exampl…

I get that and I agree 100%. It's the constant stream of rejections that crushes my spirit a bit more every time. For me, if I could have a chance with a girl I want to go for, that would be enough for me. The approach is the worst part, my social skills take over from there. It's the rejection before you can even do anything that drives me insane and makes me depressed in the end...

Gonna keep your words in mind when I'm going to elaborate a coping strategy and put it on paper. Maybe I'll make a poster out of it, who knows.

Never would say anything mean just because I got rejected. I usually give the girl a compliment about her looks (which got me to approach her in the first place anyway) and then I disengage and withdraw. It only then that it starts to sting like hell, to the point of me feeling like crap because of another failure...

That's my biggest problem, I set up expectations from the get-go and am hurt by them every time...

I am in therapy now, it's been a few months since I changed therapists and the current one told me about CBT. And I got over my cheating ex, don't get me wrong, I just have a fear of being rejected, to the point where I don't dare approaching women and making up excuses to not do that...

How can I move on while still staying friend with her? Also, the guy she's into now lived in Morocco (she is in Belgium). Could their relationship crash or is it completely hopeless for me to hope to still be chose at some point?

I told a girl I really like that I fell in love with her (we've known each other for almost two years but only recently have I begun to make moves on her). She told me that I was a very good friend to her from the very beginning. She now started a very long distance relationship. How do I get over my feelings? Is there still a chance she might see that I'm really worth her time (she said herself that I am a very great guy)? What do I do to not feel miserable and undesirble now?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
