It is absolutely a feeling of grief for me as well. Thank you for your comment. I knew I couldn't be alone in feeling this way.

Why would we start from scratch when this sub already has over 200,000 users? We're simply asking for a copy of the keys so we can help moderate this subreddit so we can have it back to what it used to be. This subreddit is full of so much history and content. It doesn't make sense to abandon all of that and start something new that will inevitably have the same issues that caused this subreddit's mods to give up. Mod fatigue is very real. It happens in every subreddit, and I would not be surpri…

No. Just, no. I don't mean to be rude. You raise very valid points. You absolutely handled my comment with utmost grace and empathy. I thank you for that sister... I am willing to burn. It's the internet, not people bursting down your doors (yet?). You can choose to log out, to leave, to walk away. For the women who can't leave their situations this has been a beacon and a sanctuary. I commended you on your answer, but I do not agree. This subreddit is worth fighting for.

Seriously? YOU just subjected all of us to this content. There is a cost to being able to speak openly with like minded individuals about the gruesome realities of the patriarchy. I have offered to mod. Other people have offered. I understand that it's not for the faint of heart. With more than 200,000 members available there has to be enough members who are willing to mod in stints. For 1-2 weeks at a time as a form of civic duty. But no mods have asked the question about who is willing to chip…

You'd prefer one individual try to start this type of community from scratch, rather than have mods accept help from current members who want to maintain an already existing community of almost 250,000 people?

If it gets banned I may consider checking out the website once a month or so. I was interacting with this subreddit daily.

I don't enjoy the podcast in the same way. It doesn't feel like a community. Also, Twitter? Am I supposed to create an alt account there so my identity remains as anonymous as it is here? Twitter does not come close to the expansive and diverse communication that used to exist here.

Honestly this podcast stuff is killing me. I'm no longer excited when I see an FDS post. They have monetized FDS and removed it from a platform where women who really need access to FDS discussion and information could find the sub, and put it on a website where they will never find it. I'm grateful for what I've learned here, the ongoing discussions and tips were really helpful in my day to day life. The website is a mess and even if they cleaned it up and had it working better I still don't se…

With Roe vs. Wade overturned we especially need this community to discuss dating, which has become a bigger risk than ever. We need ongoing discussions about vetting. We need reminders of red and green flags. We need a platform for new users to land so they can get the advice they need. Please bring this subreddit back. We need it more than ever now. I understand moderating is extremely challenging but I would be willing to volunteer time to be able to have this resource back. I'm sure I'm not t…

My issue with the website is that I miss the community here. I don't want to go somewhere external to continue to learn and grow.

I think suggesting therapy is just the default thing people do when they realize their relationship is broken. Like an olive branch. I'm so happy he refused. Imagine her dragging this out any longer.

And a very hard learned lesson for me: also don't date a man that is financially unstable. Edit: Added "also"

It's all so imprinted on us from such a young age that it's all we know. Men want sex, try not to get raped, and when you choose one to love you have to please him sexually or it's your fault that your relationship falls apart. I'm completely on board with breaking this cycle. Sex, when it happens should only ever be a choice not an obligation. We're not going to get to that point unless we stop the cycle first. So many of my friends and I are in our early 30s and just starting to figure this ou…

I am deeply disturbed by how many iterations of rape subreddits there apparently are. I knew of a couple, but this many? I am shocked, but I suppose not surprised. Men are fucking disgusting.

As a Quebec resident I've fortunately been taught about this. It's fucking horrifying. Unfortunately I have only seen the incel population grow in Montreal and surrounding areas. Too many of the men born and raised here are walking entitlement and will default to passive aggression to get their way, and that's if you're lucky enough not to experience actual aggression. It has nothing to do with language (French vs English), this province is especially toxic for women.

I would say tell them what the issue is and give them a month to show you that they are making an effort and will continue making an effort. No effort? Goodbye! I say this because, we generally don't instantly go from being attracted to not attracted, it's something that happens over a period of time. It makes sense to give them a bit of time. That's not forcing a person to change, it's simply a wake up call. A HVM that has slipped up on will take your honesty with gratitude because he wants the…

I was in the same situation once. I forced myself, read up on and tried so many ways to get my libido going. I felt so much pressure and it was devastating, I thought I had lost my sexual self forever. Nope. Turns out I just don't want to fuck someone I don't respect. Ended the relationship and boom! Immediate high libido again.

I have personally experienced this and it is mortifying. Knowing someone for a long time absolutely gives you huge blind spots. You've seen how they behave for years and one day think "I like this person so much as a friend, if intimacy/romance/sex is added we could be a fantastic match." People are not the same in romantic relationships as they are in friendships. It's a completely different type of relationship. Hard lesson learned. I ignored so many red flags he was throwing at me when we sta…

An ex boyfriend told me that he couldn't support me the day my grandma passed away because he was too hungover. I can't believe the bad choices I've made in men. This subreddit is helping me so much with my self worth.

I love your insight about flipping the script for this situation. I literally can not imagine a single situation where I would ever feel entitled to a man's body after being generous with him, or in any other situation.

Right at the beginning I thought "oh honey no." First things first is know how to set boundaries. Men are not owed sex because they paid for anything. If you're (unfortunately) out with a guy who pays and thinks he's owed something it's better to let him pay and find out sooner than later when he has a tantrum about not getting his dick sucked. Then at the end she paid for the entire date instead of speaking up in the moment that she is happy to pay for the food/drinks (which is what a perfectly…

I was raped last year and although the process has been long and arduous, I am glad that I went to the police. I am still waiting on legal resolution, but even without a guilty conviction yet I know I'm one step closer to justice. You are brave and I am so proud of you for the strength you are showing by both making the decision to report him, and also by posting about it here. You are helping other women immensely by doing what you can to get him off the streets, as well as by sharing your stor…

I had this happen to me with an ex years ago. He didn't put an alarm on to head to a specific job site early, and woke up late and got mad at me for not reminding him to change his alarm. His argument is that I was there when he received the call from his boss the night before. So I should have picked up on the convo and told him to set his alarm early. He was genuinely pissed at me until I pointed out that him and his boss always speak in Spanish with each other, and that I do not speak Spanish…

Cats are personally higher maintenance to me than dogs based on my own disgust regarding litter. Dogs certainly can't give themselves baths as cats do, but you can give them baths. There are also hypoallergenic and short hair breeds that don't have the typical dog smell. Cat feet bury their own excrement in the litter, inevitably there is a high likelihood of contact with the excrement. Cats also transmit toxoplasmosis to humans to the extent that pregnant women are told not to come in contact w…

I have always found men in general to be much more emotional than women. Especially when dealing with situations where there are either real or perceived criticisms towards them.

His points are completely valid. I agree that expecting a random cat to like you and then being upset when the cat isn't into it is a major red flag. It shows a lack of empathy, or in the very least ignorance. That said, I have a dog. I would never get a cat. I don't find picking up after my dog difficult, but I find cat litter is absolutely disgusting. It doesn't matter if you clean it daily, there's always that horrifying ammonia smell and they get their shit and piss all over their feet. And …

This happened to me as well with a LVM ex. I was doing really well in my career and he sulked about it and asked me not to talk about how well I'm doing at work (like being promoted) because it made him feel bad about his lack of accomplishments. He genuinely couldn't be happy for me.

Can someone please explain the flair issue? I've had comments deleted because I don't have a flair, but I don't know how to get one. I actually by pure coincidence almost asked the mods for a flair today. Which would have resulted in a ban. I'm glad I saw and read this post by chance. I deeply value the information that I have found here and this sub has genuinely helped me improve my self worth. I would love to be able to contribute. And likely this comment will also be deleted because, again, …
