I appreciated this post and these responses so much. Distance both emotional and physical make it so much easier to leave pretty much everything- a relationship friendship or intimate, a job, and just bad situations. In (good) coaching a coach uses altitude or a sort of birds eye view on the clients situation so they can find the context the client is operating from and if it’s holding them back or not. It’s not easy to get that altitude on your own life though. Having a tool like block and dele…

Oh my, that’s horrible and sounds like it’s completely on purpose. I would be terribly concerned if I lived in Ontario. I’ve lived a couple years in the states as a student and my experience with privatized healthcare was quite frustrating. I live in BC and I am concerned here. The way that doctors get paid per Individual visit is making it so hard for them. My doctor for natal care and the birth of my children for example told me she made much less than a midwife would. I have a doctor in town,…

This is absolutely true. It’s not easy to emigrate from your home country. I would suggest a backpacking visa if you qualify and there is one still to check out countries/areas of interest. I did this in Australia twice for a year when I was 18, and again at 29. The TN visa list is extensive but for people already established in the careers that aren’t willing to change, you’re correct in that you’d have to marry a Canadian man. I love where I live and recognize that I am so blessed. Only having…

Flee! Ladies honestly. Come to Canada, our healthcare isn’t the greatest anymore but it’s way better then having to pay out of pocket for insurance or being tied to a job for health insurance.

Why are you making this hurt your feelings? All bees in the vicinity of a pollen-laden flower attempt to come and collect. Those men are simply in your vicinity. They do this to you and all the other flowers in their vicinity. You disrespect yourself when you make their attention a stick to beat yourself with. Honestly I just look at any male attention as when I’m loving life and loving myself of course others are going to like/love me too. I say thanks and have gratitude and let it go. Unwanted…

When I see posts like this, I literally feel sick to my stomach. That poor woman. I’m so glad that she’s angry, because there’s energy to get away in that feeling. Anger is mobilizing. I hope she received good advice and resources to save herself and baby from that NVM.

I kept my last name, and my children have my last name. We talked about what we both wanted. I like my last name better than his, and it was important to me to have the same last name as our children. He owned that his last name isn’t ‘great’, as his parents are divorced and he actually likes his mom’s original surname better than his father’s. So he didn’t have any issues with me keeping mine. We talked about hyphenating or combining some form of a new last name for all of us but none sounded g…

This is powerful. Thanks for speaking truth to power. Yes, we train people how to treat us. If we don’t respect ourselves others won’t either. Boundaries are the distance from which we can love both ourselves and others, I need to practice mine.

Interesting. These co-workers don’t seem financially literate. Women need to learn more about money for so many reasons but because let’s face it, financial literacy is a source of power. Also, we need to normalize talking about money. For instance to co-workers, companies exploit women by paying them less than their peers and the company gets away with it because no one talks about it. Why wouldn’t I have financial expectations and boundaries that are respectful within my relationship. My husba…

This perverted scrote has the audacity to call himself a relationship coach….I am beyond disgusted. Nothing but Scarlett red flags all around, and I am so saddened to think that there might be women out there responding to his disgusting exploitation of them because if it didn’t work he wouldn’t post. Just the saddest

Way to go! It’s so beautiful! Of course you can have exactly what you want, amazing job believing in yourself and tuning out the peanut gallery. You are the epitome of beliefs manifesting because you know your worth and would not settle for less. 👑!

Good for you OP, you were so deep into that relationship yet still found the love and respect for yourself that you were able to rise up and see the higher altitude perspective of him not meeting you where you’re at. It’s really, really hard to see it when you’re in it. We live and breathe the contexts we’re living so it’s truly very difficult to see your own blind spots. 4 years, is a quarter of the 12 years I spent with my LV ex. So I think you’ve done great. Better than that I think you know …

Lady, this is 100% powerful, it’s amazing that you can see this so clearly and have reclaimed your power and chosen yourself. Well done.

This is such a great place to live from. Being able to maintain this level of self-love and also direct that same energy towards others is proof of higher level actualization and in my experience keeps the cycle of self-love going strong. We’re all so much more similar than we are different.

Right? So valuable! I’ll be damned if I don’t teach both my daughters about age appropriate FDS by the time they are tweens.

Yes! 6 feet, 6 figures as a goal is the same as marriage as a goal. It means nothing without high value traits behind the stats. My LVM ex was 6’2” with eventually a 6 figure salary. He lived off of me and my family and his friends for a very long period in our relationship, and I wasn’t wise to his behavior but I never wanted to marry him. That was a clue. When I met my now husband and found out he was in school for comp sci, just like my ex was, my initial thought was no, I’m not doing this ag…

It’s simple, what one can’t be with in themselves is exactly what one can’t be with in others. Weird, but enlightening, right? Whatever that shallow man is seeing in others is the same type of judgment that he puts on himself but hides from. He knows he’s ugly and fat and hates it so much. This causes so much dissonance inside him that his brain needs to give him an out, he can’t hate himself and survive, so his brain lets him trick himself into thinking that he only hates those things in others…

She is so beautiful and definitely being a strong smart Queen who has the right priorities and clearly loves and values herself as she should. This is such a brilliant post because she so eloquently embodies what having high standards means. Love of self, from one’s highest being and true ownership. When she says ‘unless you add to my happiness in a way that is equal to or greater than how happy I make myself’ I’m not going to spend time with you. That’s so healthy and completely spot on! The st…

Yup! So many people struggle with cheating partners. He cheated on me is usually how it’s worded. I get it. It feels terrible to be betrayed like that. But.... It’s not about the person be cheated on! It’s about the cheater. Cheating needs to stop being perceived as something that was ‘done to me’ because that’s a victim mentality. A cheater is a liar who agreed to monogamy, and betrayed their partners trust rather than have integrity. It’s about the cheater and their messed up values/mindset al…

You are such a star! Legit what you are doing and have done in just a few short months is stellar. The fact that you listened to the comment and checked to see if there was truth to it, then took steps to change, within mere months, is more than most people will do in their entire life. I am so glad you posted this, and this internet stranger is so freaking proud of you. Keep making moves to the top, you’ve got this!

This ‘life coach’ / counselor’ sounds like a quack. There is a governing body the International Coaching Federation, but I doubt the woman you’re describing is accredited through them. If she is, you should report her. If she isn’t...idk what you can do, maybe others have an idea, she is not any kind of professional’ and what she’s doing is so very unethical. I’m sorry you’re having this experience. It sounds like you are doing an amazing job taking care of yourself now. I’m just a stranger but …

This is real power here. OP thanks youFor cutting to the chase and speaking truth to power. So many women suffer because they think more about what’s going wrong/poorly/difficult than they spend giving themselves props for every day wins and being their own best friends. We rarely show ourselves the care and concern we’d give others because living in our bodies day the day normalizes both our lows and our highs. We should all have been taught to think of each of our powers as a source of empower…

This is super interesting to hear, and I can see that obviously there’s truth to it because it works. But I wonder what else is going on. Would you take it as far as marrying someone who you are fully aware loves you because you remain emotionally unavailable? What about when kids are involved? Do you then love the children more than the husband and if so what is keeping him committed to you? Or do you think there’s something more at play here, perhaps your emotional unavailability comes off as …
